43 right now and a high of 74 predicted....a repeat of yesterday's glorious weather!

I'd started stacking that last cord of fire wood (should have done this last weekend)...no neighbors helping this time. About halfway done, so that's my chore of the day.

51*F with clouds. mid-70's today with a 30% chance of rain later.

Sometime overnight it was down to 44. I stepped outside around 11 pm last night and it was clear as a bell and calm. The Milky Way and stars were awesome.

I walked down along the beaver pond yesterday, hadn't been there is a month or so as it looked like a pair of ducks, and a pair of geese might be nesting on the pond. I didn't see any sign of them, but there is lots of cover to hide in. The beavers have been living up to their busy reputation. They have a new second lodge and have done extensive mud work on their dams.

Coffee is brewing. 61° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 80° with partly sunny skies. Worked on barn water hydrant replacement. Looks like it's going to be a backhoe project. Need dig outside barn. Then replace a piece of 1" plastic pipe. Wife is afraid that digging with kill tree next to barn. So am I. Made old hydrant into single spigot until we come up with a plan. Don't really need a frost proof hydrant any more because there are no animals in the barn.
Kyle, got the projects/chores done. Going to have to stop and see Mikes gate when we head that way for our winter trip.
Good Morning All.

Good morning. A damp 65, the rain stopped a little while ago, still cloudy, not feeling like summer, but we'll enjoy a nice cool Sunday morning.

It is lovely here in the Poconos on the shore of Beech Mountain Lake, a cool 51 with mist rising off the water.

I'm here on Vacation for a week with my 3 daughters, our first such vacation since separation.

Yesterday was grind with packing the car, 5 hours of driving, unpacking he car, and loading up on a weeks groceries and items missing from the condo like ice cream scoops etc.

Today should be very nice though.

Might not get too post much this week.

Be well all & Congrats to Drew on the new ranch.

Kyle,

That is the plan sir, that is the plan...

Trying to re-establish healthy relationships, build up NEW family traditions, and most certainly do cool things, have fun, and make great memories.

Doing everything on a budget due to unemployment, but also trying to make sure I am not full of fear and I am radiating the right vibes...

Just this morning I was completely enjoying being awake before them, and seeing them all sleeping peacefully under the same roof as I...

Things are already so much better than this time last year, even accounting for all the pot-holes in my life today, this path will lead me out of darkness and back into light...

Thanks & Be well,
David

David....made me so happy to read your post and realize you are concentrating on the most important parts of your life...try to take a lot of pictures and record the memories of this because I can attest THESE days may be one of the high points of your life....spouses may come and go, careers may come and go, adult toys may come and go, material goods may come and go...but MEMORIES spent with family and loved ones never go. Congratulations...and enjoy the time together.

Randy, nice to hear from you. Was afraid they were working you too hard.
you'd better be saving some time for your tractor.
have a signed contract in hand on the house in Washington NC.
going to be a very busy couple of months.

you know, I don't think we have any Inner Banks members that I have seen. Maybe just didn't see their posts.
Not sure where NC Redneck is from, and of course we have our distinguished statesmen from the grand state of Virginia, but
would they be "Northerners" to a Carolina boy? ;)

now where's that Talking Southern For Dummies book I had?
though I will say that for every extra polite person I talked to, there was also one that spoke very poor or hard to understand "English".
I was brought up on Latin and diction. Enunciation was a not uncommon command at the dinner table with two attorney parents.
there wasn't much we got away with...and that was just fine.

So I have taken this a foreign language and I will learn it...:D

I think I'll order a plate of chickookra mush with a side of smush pups yuuzaalll

You could always teach all your new neighbors how to enunciate and speak properly...I bet they'd like that....Here in Georgia we have a lot of fun with Yankees who talk Yankee....LOL There is a River here with Banjo Music....;)
