Just got back from Harbor Freight, Ace Hardware, and our local Kubota dealer.

Parts are cooking along ... flipped 'em over ...

Paint is off, or coming off, everything ... except for the 1 piece that I painted with Rustoleum Hammered Finish ...

Whoda thunk it ...

60's here first thing this AM....front came through so very low humidity....Larro...low humidity coming your way...LOL

I'll be ready for it. All last week was tough. The heat index was up to 110-115 for a couple of days. Yesterday was much better, with cooler temps, lower humidity and a nice north breeze. But it's back to normal today. At 1700, it's 92F {heat index 102} with 53% humidity. If I wasn't working, it would be a good day to sit with your feet in the creek.

It's down to 64F from our high of 86F this afternoon. 86F forecast again for tomorrow, then a high of 71F on Thursday. Looking forward to that.

I have to mow the yard again tomorrow. All summer it has been on a 6-8 day cycle. I guess tomorrow's plan is ride the lawnmower and ride the tractor.

MostlyGas, hope you get your house listed soon. That's a lot of cycling you have done.

It's cooled off to 72F here ... the cold front is still a little northwest of us ... it will come thru later today ... the overnight low tonight is only predicted to be 69F ... but 57F for Wednesday/Thursday night. Thunderstorms predicted for the morning and then partly cloudy.

I'm calling it an early night ... woke up around 03:40 ... so it's been a long day.

And, by "special request" :D:

Good Morning clear and 59 degree, well were off to a not so great start. I've just started round 2 of the colon prep drink with the colonoscopy set for 12:30 and I'm not liking this getting older at all. I'm sure many of you old timers know what I'm going through this morning. Most days I struggle to get enough rest due to side effects of narcotics from a failed back surgery and tonight has been ruff to say the least. Enough whining, on a good note I got to cultivate my winter garden yesterday with the Farmall Cub which was truly a pleasure. Were growing turnips, beets, mustard, spinach, onions and garlic this winter. This is my first winter garden since moving back to the country 12 years ago so I'm pretty excited about that. So to all I say Good Morning here to a better day!

good morning all. Boy am I disoriented but my first cup of 7-11 coffee may help. Sleeping in strange beds, waking up in the middle of the night sort wondering where I was...up at 4am and on a roll. Pretty foggy this morning making the drive back to the house.

Well today they finish cleaning out this house, and instead of taking the big semi to the storage facility, they decided to bring a transfer truck in and have one team bring those boxes back to the house while the others load here. They are going to be in for quite a surprise when they see that mountain of boxes.
And when it's all gone, my red IH tractor will hopefully be just fine underneath. Next week the trucker comes to get that tractor and I should be done.

My pickup truck, as large as it is, is filled to the ceiling. Feel like I'm one of the local kids headed back to college with crammed cars. Good news is my new neighbor is coming over tomorrow afternoon and I'm going to let him unload the truck.

57 this morning high of 85 later today. Yesterday was delightful if you work outside not to hot and low humidity. August in theses parts has been very abnormal with lots of rain and below normal temperatures

How about a box of fresh donuts for the moving crew.

Yes a few of us here have been through that procedure some more than once. Some of the best sleep you'll ever have while under. Good luck

you bet, did that yesterday. What they asked for today was a case of bottled water. Headed out in an hour to pick that up.

oh boy do I have a problem. I finally got the complete name of the kid next door who is going to be my helper. I asked him if he had a criminal record and he said no.... it looks like he was hiding something:

On February 1, 2013, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in the area of Chesterfield Drive, Homeplace Road, CBH Lodge Road, and Cherry Road in Washington, NC. Deputies responded to the scene and learned the suspects entered into unlocked vehicles and removed assorted items including sunglasses, loose change, computer tablets, ipods, and binoculars.

During the investigation, Investigators located items matching the description of the items stolen at “Trade It” in Greenville NC. After seizing the items, Investigators obtained and executed a search warrant at a suspect’s residence on Old Bath Highway in Washington. As a result, Investigator Scott Williams applied for and obtained warrants charging Christian Gage Warner, age 17, of Cherry Road in Washington and Steven Tyler Greene, age 18, of Old Bath Highway in Washington with eleven (11) counts of Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and ten (10) counts of Larceny.

On February 7, 2013, Warner turned himself in at the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. Warner was taken before Magistrate Jasper Mills and released on a $25,000.00 unsecured bond. Greene is believed to be in South Carolina. Investigators are working with authorities in SC to have Greene served. The stolen property located at “Trade It” was returned to the owners.

what really bothers me is these two teenagers were stupid enough to rip off their neighbors; those streets mentioned are local. Looks like he and I are going to have a real heart to heart talk about honesty. Not a good way to start, but my guess is the whole thing got set down because all the property was returned.
Two kids with the devil in them. They have no money, just out of high school, and too much time apparently.

Ok, how hard should I be on this 18 year old? Who doesn't have a job and has a 3 month old baby?
I'd like some advice here;want to do the right thing.

Poured second cup of coffee. 64° with with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 77°with clouds and some sun today. Thunderstorms came in late yesterday. All looks OK. Small project day. Should be easier with cooler weather.
rswyan, I looked and could not find my pictures on TBN. Here is one. A lot simpler than your plan.

Good Morning All.

Not too hard, just tell him the truth about how you feel, trust and respect and all that. He blew it when he said he did not have a record. That is not going to go over good in his future prospects.

The weather here is what we consider, below normal. It was 57 out this AM. yesterday, instead of mowing the "lawn", I started cutting the pastures again. That was after some more drywall work on the inside. No battery for the B yet, although it is in my car truck for a shopping trip after work. Beer and Battery. :) Seems like a good combo.

Drew a judgement call on your part. Everyone deserves a second chance sometimes a third or fourth but starting out not telling the truth from the get go. I defer to others with more knowledge about such things. Maybe TripleR will read and respond as he is very knowledgeable about such matters

61F copy of yesterday weather again today..fingers cross for nice breeze today
Well its hump day as they say, looking forward to weekend.

Enjoy day all.

Drew....Your situation brings to mind ....a couple of old chestnuts....Fool me once ...shame on you....Fool me twice ...Shame on me....Then of course the one about the snake that asked the man to help him cross the road...and promised not to bite the man since he was poisonous...when across the road the snake bit the man...When the man asked why the snake had bit him when he promised he would not , the snake replied..." You knew I was a Snake when you picked me up " Desperate people do desperate things...they justify it...can you hear it now....? That old guy has more than he needs....look at all his stuff....You've got a lot on your plate right now....do you really need this worry...? Good Luck Drew...

One more thought....I don't think I would mention you know about his arrest record if you decide to stop using him....I would just tell him you were going to do most of your own work for the exercise....you don't want him mad at you as a neighbor with that record....

56 again, and heading hotter today, 87. Working outside was great yesterday, will try to get more done today - more painting and bush hogging.

Drew, Brin makes a good point, but also, having a new baby can straighten up a man. He seems responsible and eager in your dealings so far - tell him. Then ask him if he's been in trouble with the law in any way, and how important honesty is. If you get a real response, build trust.

But still a good idea to keep an eye on him and get that security system installed.
