Good Morning. 1005, mostly cloudy, 69F with 79% humidity. Forecast high of 82F this afternoon, and a low of 60F {that is not a typo} tonight. Fall has made it's way down here to NW Florida. I may have to wear long pants to work tonight.

Drew, hope you have good news at the Doctor this afternoon.

Everyone have a good day.

wet weather system headed North up the Coast, one to two inches of rain predicted widely. Seems to be slowing down here.
Had to chuckle; builder comes in the driveway with County Sheriff right on his tail. Hmm, wonder if my builder is getting a ticket.
Cop steps out and shakes the guys hand and I laughed; the Sheriff must do carpentry on the side, and sure enough, that's exactly what he did. I told him to keep it down going out the driveway...:D

Good morning all. 52F for a start and sunny. Forecast for 77F partly cloudy and light breeze. Off to slow start, trying to finish contract on house but no agreement yet.

69F and .01 inches rain last 24 hours

Off to my rescheduled, rescheduled treadmill stress test. No eating for four hours before. Squeezing in a cup of coffee.

Be safe
Have a great day.

69F and sunny @ 12:45 ...

Just woke up a bit ago ... ran down to the store for some smokes ... and as I was going back into the house upon my return I thought I heard someone call my name ...

A little bit later I heard the sound of a chainsaw ...

Now ... I wonder who that could be ...

Well, for once the weatherman man got the forecast right - "rain to start at 2pm"...it did...I finished my carpentry work at 3pm. Since I replaced some trim, including around a window, I wanted to caulk it. I guess now I'll find out if DAP is serious about their instructions on the caulk tube not to caulk before a rain. I was able to get some plastic up over part of it - I guess this is also a test for how well FROG tape works in the rain.

My wife had to run an errand, so I heated some clam chowder and made a grilled cheese to take the edge off this rainy, cool afternoon. First time in a long while I had to wear long pants and a flannel shirt to work outside, due to the cool wind.

Now, maybe I can find a nap somewhere.

the way the rain is still coming down here, I hope that caulk is seriously water resistant...(maybe a little Dap will do you...:D)
I bet we have had three inches so far and it's not stopping until later.

well....inconclusive results on my test, but basically positive. Hopefully not like being a little pregnant...
insufficient material presented for evaluation. In other words, a botched test. but what they did get was benign.
And the ultrasound showed a 1.6cm nodule (larger than before) but that apparently was not uncommon.
I asked him if living in a home with a radon level just under the allowable limit could have been a factor.
And he said absolutely yes.
Interesting....very interesting.
I was told to come back in six months and get retested.
I'll take it.

Gosh, I'm going to have to start buying tin foil in bulk. Lots to make those hats for solar flares, and
now lots to line the underneath of the house. Would make an interesting carpeting material...

Drew,

Sounds like good news to me ... them telling ya to come back in six months doesn't sound they are terribly concerned about it.

Liability being what it is, I'd take that as a good sign ... ;)

Drew, sounds positive to me :)

I did my treadmill stress test. Interesting in that the reason it was rescheduled was a personnel issue, so today the cardiologist actually manned the ultrasound during the test. I think he and the PA were amazed I made it half thru phase 4, the last phase and would have done the last minute and half if they let me. Initial comments about how good I did. My wife commented how I never even broke a sweat. Next week I get the followup where he goes over all the tests in detail.

Good evening. 2020, clear {moonie?}, 69F with 80% humidity. Tonight's forecast low has been lowered to 59F. If this keeps up, I'll be switching my AC over to heat. Tonight was the first time in ages that I have worn long pants to work, other than weddings and the like.

Drew, glad to hear the good news. A FaceBook friend posted a video I thought you should see. I know you were torn about buying a big boat, and you didn't have a good experience with your RV. Well this might just take care of both those needs at once. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=906600202699726&fref=nf

Hope everyone is having a good one,

44 right now and a high of 70 today...

53F and partly cloudy @ 04:00 ... calling for sunny with a high of 76F today.

I went down around 19:30 last night to grab a bite and after that it was all over ... fell asleep on the couch until around 12:00. Took me awhile to get up and get moving. Beautiful night though ... all kinds of stars out there with some wispy clouds here and there.

I'm up at the shed ... brought the laptop up ... 'cause I need to read the instructions for the compact bender (first use) and I can't find the paper manual anywhere ... lol ... so it's pdf off the internetz ...

Decided I needed to re-orient it so the pulls are done out in the bay ... will give me more (length) for whatever I'm bending.

The other thing I discovered recently was the stand for the vise was too high ... I thought higher would be better for some things since I'm somewhat tall ... so when I built the stand I just used the entire drop of pipe that I had ... turns out it was too high for getting a good swing when beating on stuff ... so I unbolted the vise and took it off and then unbolted the stand from the floor and sawed off about 6". Hafta make the second cut (on the base) and then weld it all back together.

I used it yesterday as it was for some welding ... and while I was at it, I added this at Uncle Buck's suggestion - a holder for the MIG gun:

IMG_1607.jpg

Used an old short length of small diameter pipe I had lying around and what was left of an old pin from a (cargo) load bar that I had drilled out when I shortened the load bars to fit my van. Think I'll probably add a few more things like this to the stand ... once I figure out what is needed ... lol ... probably a pin for the hand sledge would be a good start.

I also discovered that the location I chose to mount the vise was not a good one ... not enough light and too far (6') from an electrical outlet ... so it's getting moved in the "upgrade" process.

Now that I've got the sawhorses built I might try to get the plate out of the back of the van and get the welding table set up ... it's getting to the point where I actually need it to move forward on the grapple.

Also may have to go pick up another take of shielding gas if I do much welding today ... down to 600 psi already.

68 degrees going up only a little to 75 today, rain has headed North but another system along the coast might bring more showers today. Then a clearing trend and some nice outside weather. If this area had reservoirs, boy would they be overflowing.
Might go look at hot tubs today. Need something with hot water to soak my body in and the adult style walk in tubs got the thumbs down because multiple people said it would make the bathroom look like "old people" lived there. Ok...well they did for sure, and I'm trying to change that look anyway. Well, maybe a hot tub will add to my social life. I'll be soaking in there and having a wonderful conversation with about a dozen geckos...;) Maybe I'll fill up a little bowl of warm water just for them...
and the cameras roll in and the next Geico commercial is made.

60 this morning high of 69 later today. Started raining about 6:30 last night and was raining when I went to bed but now just cloudy. Supposed to clear off and be nice thru Saturday. Good Morning

Make it into the low 70's. We will be closing down our camp this weekend so we are enjoying a last week with summer like temps. Time really does fly when you're having fun

am wondering how Toppop is doing. Miss his Maryland report.
He must not have enough idle time on his schedule now that he is working so hard.
C'mon Randy, play hooky. Turn off that spreadsheet and car inventory analysis and tell us how you are doing.

boy Roy, you were up seriously early. I bet you go to bed early like me.
hope that new job is working well for you.

RS, methinks sometimes you approach things with a "now what else can I do to this thing" :D
The welder is hot, and metal, some metal, is going to fly...
Wood is great. Steel is serious.

so many folk here are industrious. A pleasure to watch and learn.
Of course I think most people who ride a tractor are not couch potato material anyway.
Could it be tractor DNA?

Poured last cup of coffee. 48° with light fog this morning. Heading to 73° with sun then clouds later in the day. Got last of the filters and oil on order. TSC sent me a 10% off coupon. Need to go by there to see if they have anything I need. Then it's time to get started on fall maintenance.
Good Morning All

41F & fog this morning headed to 70. The forecast high for Fri-Sun is 77, 81 and 83. Summer returns!

I am off to the Ford shop for front-end and tire work this morning. The right front is wearing on one edge and that tire 'sings'. Hope to get a haircut on the way home.

Have a good day.
