72F and .25 inches rain last 24 hours.

Body up, but brain not fully engages so not sure what I might try to accomplish this day.

Be safe
Have a great day

It's remarkable how easy a big heavy piece of equipment going through sandy soil can make it look so simple.
Driveway prep this week, paving end of week or early next week.
Need to get it in before the big snows.

just seeing if you were paying attention....:D

Paying Attention NOW SIR!

Nice driveway. Nice grader!

In 2008 or 2009 I paid ~$5,500 to have a 150' gravel drive paved. It was 10' wide, had a 12' x 10' "turnaround" and the end by the street flared out to 30' wide with a small parking spot by mailbox.

Looking forward to more pics!

Be well,
David

Nice looking piece of equipment there Drew. That little driveway shouldn't put too much strain on it.

I'm done with my lifting and breakfast eating. One was more enjoyable than the other. Spoiler alert, it was breakfast. Pork loin stir-fry{with cheddar cheese}, eggs, Greek banana, strawberry, blueberry and red raspberry stir it up, toast and coffee. Now what can I fix for lunch.......

75F and sunny @ 13:00 ...

I just put the MMM on the 'Bota and took the loader off, as the Dragon Lady has graciously volunteered to mow the lawn ...

Now it's time for a little nap ... :D

Larro,,,,Tell the truth now ~ You have 2 hollow legs...right ?

That was over 800 calories, about 200 more than my usual breakfast. Mondays and Thursdays are a challenge with eating. My lifting time has increased to 85 minutes, and when you add in the cardio, it is almost lunch time when I eat breakfast. That leads to a small, late lunch, then with the big calorie burn, I have to look for calories after supper to reach my goal. I try to eat 2080 calories plus exercise, which can put it over 3K. I can see and feel the changes from the lifting, but I'm stuck right around 24.4 BMI and 22.3% Body Fat. If I want to lower them, I will have to get serious about my nutrition. But I'm happy enough with my 176 pound self, I doubt I will worry too much about it.

Gloomy day here but sun did come out for a bit. Another day lost to rain no way to make them up now except Saturday's and really do not like working those. Did go look at two new jobs then some inside chores. Dinner time will be here soon

Morning (just barely) Y'all!

I got a nice PM checking in to see if I was still alive and I am happy to report I have not been selected for duty pushing up Daiseys yet...

I was shocked to see #1 I was 500 posts behind on this thread (I just spent an hour skimming to catch up a bit) and #2 that it had been 8 days since I last posted. JD Green would say I've become a slacker as a post-*****...

My life is mostly unchanged. I'm trying to b!tch less and be happy more, I've been busy with the job search and some minor projects. My right elbow, bicep and shoulder are still VERY sore from limbing with a 20" FarmBoss like 3 weeks ago... might be tennis elbow, not sure...

I'm hosting a birthday bonfire party for a very good friend this coming Saturday and the big pile is not really finished because I can't saw right now (and not for the last 3 weekends either)... But the little pile is ready to rock.

I will try not to be a stranger, I really appreciate my TBN brothers and the supportive environment here.

Be well & God Bless all of you,
David
As the body ages it takes longer and longer to heal. What I used to get over in a few weeks (say a pulled muscle) now takes a month or two and I keep aggravating it until SWMBO forces me into Lazy Boy rest.

Looking forward to more pics!

Drew - did you suggest to them to leave the equipment and keys over the weekend? My Father did that and used the bulldozer to turn a 1/4 acre pond 8' deep into a 1 acre pond 14' deep :)

you know....I've been looking at the controls on that grader...naaah. :D

I'll go back and look at the original spec; I know it's a lot of underlayment material.

16 tons of base material
933 SY of prep base and finegrade (what is SY??)
pave with 2" of SF 9.5A

The driver is pretty good at tailgate spreading, like the way he used the side boards to keep stone out of your yard. Smart and talented

68F and partly cloudy @ 21:30 ...

Enjoying my first cup of coffee and trying to wake up ... I slept like a log ...

The report is that the front lawn - which is probably 80% of it - has been mowed. I might be able to get the area around the house done with the Simplicity in the morning ... if the rain holds off long enough. More and more leaves are starting to fall ...

I've been tasked with the taking the trash out on my way up to the shop (tomorrow is trash day) ... which is somewhat unusual - normally it doesn't get put out until the morning, due to the 'coons.

I got the 2nd arm for the upper jaw welded up yesterday before I knocked off ... have some grinding to do on that, and then should be able to get the arms tacked onto the pipe that holds the upper jaw teeth ... and get the other cross pipes tacked on as well ... so the upper jaw will be mostly assembled/put together, except for the pin mounts - which won't get tacked up until the lower section is welded up ... so that the hinge pins can be inserted into both pieces for alignment.

Also got the lower rake teeth ground with bevels ... so those are ready to be tacked up too. Have to be careful doing those ... the chisels on the tips are extremely sharp ... accidently bumped my hand into one of those yesterday and had blood squirting all over.

Need to do something with hinge/pivot points for the upper jaw, as far as being able to grease them. It's either drill and tap the D.O.M. tube that serves as the pin mounts, or drill and tap the pins themselves. I think drilling and tapping the D.O.M tube will probably be easier, in terms of accuracy, with the equipment I have available. If I had a lathe or a mill, drilling the pins (accurately) would be more realistic. Easy decision.

Hope everyone had a good day.

Interesting day here, I went and looked at a old building with a bil. He has been in the restaurant biz for many years, and is buying this building and restoring it. Met with a architect and the building official. All things I've not been exposed to before. I am going to help him remodel this place over the next year. Maybe I'll need some more tools (toys?).? :)

Probably square yards (at a particular depth)
