Poured first cup of coffee. 51ー with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 68ー with sun later in the day. Got apple tree cut down yesterday. But sprinkles of rain kept me from trimming branches off larger limbs. No rush I will have it cleaned by the weekend. RV show opens today. Going to go look at new features available on latest models. Leaving check book and credit cards home. My local Kubota dealer is across street from show place.
Good Morning All.

You could at least stop in at Foote tractor and say hello!

69F and partly cloudy @ 17:00 ...

Woke up about an hour ago, still nursing my first cup.

Got all the gussets for the lower teeth welded last ... except I have about 1" section I have to grind out and re-weld because I forgot to turn the gas on ... lol ...

IMG_1617.jpg

Also got all the grinding and touch up welds on the right arm for the upper jaw done and got it detailed out. Some radiuses, which I thought turned out decent:

IMG_1619.jpg

IMG_1620.jpg

... and then got it tacked on the cross pipe that holds upper jaw teeth:

IMG_1622.jpg
(Good example of why using 45 and 90 degree connections makes life easier)

I got most of the left one done as well ... but couldn't quite complete it because my back was killing me (I'm way overdue for a trip to the bone cruncher myself) ... will finish it up here in a bit, and then tack the cross pipes (3) into place.

Sodamo,

Congrats on your anniversary ... that's quite an achievement ... one that takes considerable commitment and personal investment

   / Good morning!!!! #25,168
and lastly, your trivia bit for this morning.
Note above that Sodamo and rswyan both joined in the same month in 2004.
In the merry month of May when tractors are, well, tractoring...
Good eye ...

I "met" rswyan in the Friendly Politics area, where he adopted that interesting avatar to make a political point. My skin is a little too thin for that place and I no longer visit ...
For me, it's just not worth the time and the effort ... too many other fish to fry at the moment ... although I do pop in from time to time just to give 'em a little poke ... with a sharp stick ...

so I am happy to find him here. With his amazing welding pics and tales of marital bliss. Just like Sodamo's(and many others)...different variations on the same theme of love.
It's what makes the world go 'round ... ;)

Well, actually, no one does flying metal one ton sheets of steel like RS.
oh, we covered that. :D Story just improves with age like a fine wine.
lol ...

Drew,

You are a total crack up ...

I couldn't resist; what little gems we find here:
and the upper jaw at least tacked up by morning.

Now rs, was tacking your jaw your wife's idea?
as long as it doesn't affect your post count.
LOL ... I'm sure the idea of tacking my jaw has crossed her mind many a time over the years ...

Well, guess I'm certified with strong heart and good circulation. Comment made about possibility of varicose veins deep within lower legs but without complaints of cramping or pain not much of a concern at this point. I did get some cramping at night when on the generic Lipitor but hardly ever since getting of the statins. Go back in Apr for followup EKG. Guess they just love it when you have insurances. Haven't been to doctors so much since having my knee replacements. Good thing I'm not sick, LOL

Off to town to nice restaurant to celebrate with dear wife.

Good evening all. 59F this morning and sunny. Clouded up today and made it to 86F. Showers tonight, one more day around 85F then Saturday forecast for 59F. Golf this morning, bike ride after lunch then finished culvert project on rental house. No flats on the ride today, had a flat two rides ago, then 2 flats the last one and the wife had to pick me up (second time this year)

53F and cloudy @ 00:15 ...

Just woke up a little bit ago ... enjoying some coffee while I try and wake up ...

Fell asleep earlier, right after dinner/breakfast/whatever meal it was ... never made it up to the shop ...

Finally had to change out the tank of shielding gas last night ... will have to return the empty in the morning.

Sodamo,

After the big one I took some statin or another for about two weeks or so ... but the side effects were so bad that I chucked the rest of the 'script in the trash. Bad, bad stuff IMHO ... good on you for getting off them. Plenty of natural remedies (garlic ?) to lower one's cholesterol that are not dangerous to be fooling around with bad drugs.

we are off to Maine mid morning and will be up north until Sunday.

59 degrees going up to 81, a nice repeat of yesterday.
was headed out to get the mail last night when I heard this loud hammering and banging at the end of the lane.
First I thought it was the farmer across the way fixing something but when I got closer, ahhh, the pavers have arrived.
And the poor driver had a new fancy truck with hydraulic wheels that moved forward and back, really neat to watch, but some pin was stuck and he couldn't get something loose. So he was banging away, and finally got it loose, somewhat frazzled, muttering to himself about having to figure out the trailer better. Three pieces of equipment came off, a baby Cat grader, a roller and a Bobcat mini excavator.
Yes I'll take pics later.

Who knows maybe the show will begin this morning. Actually I think they will be bringing in the "fines" today and doing the final leveling for paving, perhaps tomorrow. They said I could drive on it the next day; think I'll keep the four ton Ram off it for the weekend. Interesting that he said it was the cool nights that hardened the pavement; so it should be fine the next day. I have very little experience with macadam; wish I had Buppies here...
Paving contractor out of Fountain NC, yup, like the boat, but fountain boats is here in Washington/Chocowinity; the town is further West.
I'll have to ask if Reggie came from that town.

btw, I stopped taking my cholesterol medicine, a Lipitor generic, during the move due to horrible muscle cramps; so bad in the middle of the night I'd have to get in the shower and run hot water on me to get things to loosen up. Not fun at all. Am going to watch my numbers now that I'm off; they had dropped from mid 200's to mid 100's total, or pretty good. All the deep fried food around these parts doesn't help, but as we ALL know, I'm the one who puts it in my mouth...thinking of Larro and all that healthy food he eats. We are what we eat.

Just started coffee brewing. 57° with fog this morning. Heading to 73° when fog clears, then sunshine. Bought 2 pins for 3 PH sway bars at Kubota dealer. $32 for 2 new ones. Wish I would stop losing these specialty pins. Back to working on apple tree. Would have finished it yesterday. But had 2 visitors that ate up most of my time discussing nothing. Back at it today.
Good Morning All.

56 this morning with fog high of 80 later before strong cold front comes thru. Showers and storms tomorrow then lows possibly in 30s Saturday night. Drew driveway sounds like it's coming along nicely, any questions that you have only a phone call away. One more day of work then it's the weekend. Good Morning

Well, guess I'm certified with strong heart and good circulation. . . . Go back in Apr for followup EKG. Guess they just love it when you have insurances. David /QUOTE]

Congratulations David, It's always great news when the cardiologist can't find evidence of advanced heart disease to suggest a stent or bypass.

Wow! 79˚ before sunrise - Summers back. A cool front is heading this way and should be here by midnight, Yea! Might try to get the fall garden seeds in the ground and cover the pool.

Buppies, have you decided on a grapple? The thing I really like about my "The Rake Shop" grapple is the curvature of the bottom tines. The depth of the rake push can then be adjusted also by the tilt so you don't go too deep and get hung up but still get a good raking with each pass. If you don't have a cross bar as a depth guide (but you still need the depth) you need the curvature.

64 and foggy now, after some showers about an hour ago. Should clear off and get to 76.

Pulled up the last tomato plants and cages yesterday, and tilled the garden using the tractor...harder than usual, since there are still some pepper plants, broccoli, collard, tomatillos, and flowers. I have to till the rest by hand (Mantis) to get around those remaining plants.

The crimson clover is sprouting nicely for a cover crop in a couple of fields...these showers and fog help.

Looking forward to those driveway pix.
