11 out there right now. Wind chills below zero. Temps look to go lower by mid-week.

Pipes seem to have frozen in another building. Keep telling everyone to open the cabinet doors and let the faucets drip over there. When it goes into single digits that one building always seems to freeze up. I think the water supply line itself is the issue.

Did not manage to cut the pine up. Too cold for chain saw work. At least it was a nice straight tree and with the root ball up out of the ground it is laying waiting for me.

Stay warm, be safe out there.

-5F, winds still 15-20 mph. Looks like a good chance for sunshine though.

Be safe in the snow & ice.

Good morning all.
It has been raining all night here. Cold wet nights often seem much harder on the sheep than when it is below freezing.
This morning I found an older ewe that hadn't the energy to stand up. Fortunately she was being kept company by some younger ewes who had kept any predators away.

She was at the point furthest away from our house. With our land forming a long narrow triangle, that is just over a mile from home.
At one time on a wet day like this I would have been bringing her back in a wheelbarrow.
Not today though, time for the Iseki to start earning it's keep and make use of the 4 wheel drive.

With the 3-point-hitch still to be sorted, the only option was to put the bucket on.
I left the hoses for the 4-in-1 clam off as I'm still learning the new joystick and didn't want her accidentally dropping out - or worse.

Wrapped her in a piece of carpet tied up with baler twine.

All went well and we made it home.

Coffee has been poured. 60° with a few clouds this morning. Heading to 78° with some clouds and a warm breeze. Back up north the low is -19°. Living in that area for over 70 years. I cannot remember temperatures ever being that low. Please stay in unless there is no other option. Not much planned today.
Good Morning All.

Sunny here, in the 60's. Called the wife, it got to -15F last night. We lost a couple of old hens, we think the cold was too much stress for the birds. Both were over 5 years old. I think the gas bill at the house and her shop are gonna be high! Meanwhile. mom is doing well, I am heading back home tomorrow, and we will be somewhat back to normal....

Be toasty my friends!!!

Good morning, a calm but chilly morning here, -2F heading to 7F.

Eric, good to see your investment in the tractor has already saved your back from pushing a wheelbarrel. Once you get the joystick down for the loader you will have lots of fun.

18 this morning and snowing. Don't know how much is currently there but you can't see more than a few hundred feet. Looks like it's blowing and drifting. Forecast last night night said 12-15 inches for us. It's well on its way.

Good morning! Just brought the dogs in from their morning routine and it is -13˚ out there - dang it is cold! Hopefully Buppies can forecast a warming trend for the NE soon. Be careful everyone and have a good week.

Another chilly one again, -17c but the sky is clear. Off to work again, have a great day everyone!

Good Show! I've done the same with a downed cow and use a piece of plywood so I don't pinch it. Were you able to get close and roll her in?

I am 36 pages behind now and I fear I may never catch up...

Looks like 6-10" snow predicted for this evening/overnight. Looks like I may need to mount the snowplow on my Ranger.

Any suggestions for how much weight to put in the bed?

I've still got my girls until 6pm due to I got the holiday today so not sure when I will be able to do this though... I also need ever more wood...

Be well all,
David

Well it's up to 20. We have between 8&10 inches of a very dry snow. Still snowing. Forecast is for another 6-7 hours of snow. Already plowed out to the state highway. Will have to do it again atleast one more time. Did mess with the other end of the loop only the end we use.

3.2F currently ... and supposedly to be clear and sunny ... but sure ain't seeing Ol' Sol ...

The overnight low was -9F ... woman said the house got down in the 50's ... I slept thru it.

It's now up to 60F inside. Hopefully the sun will make an appearance.

Yesterday was a 24 hour work day ... got the table grate for the splitter built and helped my young helper build a rose out of steel for his sweetie.

My package with the parts from Surplus Center is out on the truck for delivery ... be interesting to see after the last little incident if our UPS driver is brave enough to run 250' over a couple inches of snow on flat ground to drop it at the shed. My bet is no ...
