19F & snowing again. I cleared 6" off the drive this afternoon thinking it was done snowing and we just got another inch. I think it's about done though.
Around 0F tonight, 15F tomorrow. Glad I don't live somewhere cold like Ohio, Virginia or Kentucky. :laughing:
The half hog was finally ready today. Like lots of places it seems, the slaughter house is booked solid with a waiting list. People will go back to doing their own maybe. My FIL used to tell me about the neighbors going round their farms in turns as a group to slaughter hogs, make sausage, render lard, etc. That would sure make easier work of it than doing it alone.

Central Ohio here and it's colder than a witch's broom right now. Our high today was only 8 degrees and the low tonight should be 6 below zero. For around here, that's enough to cancel everything and issue a travel emergency. This is starting to get old.

I now have smoke coming out two chimneys here at the house ...
Fired up the fireplace insert in the basement living room about an hour and a half ago ...
Upstairs t'stat is reading 62F (that's a gain of 1 degree since the sun went down ... and the outside temp has dropped several degrees) ... and the combo thermometer/humidistat in the basement family room is reading around 67F or 68F ...
Think I know where I'll be sleeping tonight ... :laughing:
I even managed to sneak out earlier today to pick up the rest of the hydraulic fittings from Summers Rubber and the hydraulic hoses from TSC to finish the logsplitter ...
