A crisp frost here this morning.

Today will be my first try at shifting bales with the new loader.
According to the manufacturer I need to find 400kg (880lb) for the rear. One day I will make up something permanent from steel and concrete.
For today I will try using some borrowed suitcase weights that will need a temporary frame rigging. Failing that I have an old Howard rotavator.

Last week we watched the very last Foyle's war. I won't spoil the ending for you, however the good news is that they managed to keep the high standard up right to the last episode.

That's good to know. Any show that has a nine season run has lots of fans I figure.

Hope your bale shifting goes well, be safe.

11F and overcast this morning. We ended up with about 3-4 inches of snow. Still looking for 40F today but it's back to mid-teens, windy and a low of -13F Monday-Tuesday. That ain't right.

Have to fill the diesel jugs today and stop for a few groceries.

Had a great time at a concert in Richmond.

If you know country music or watch RFD, you might recognize Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives.

A real treat was the appearance of George Winn, one of the earliest Bluegrass musicians...he is 82, just had a pacemaker installed 3 week ago, and sang and played the mandolin like a master...he actually appeared at the original Old Dominion Barn Dance back in the 1950s. He told some funny stories.

I've seen--on TV-- the guitar player on the left in the first photo play guitar with this group, guitar with Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits and drums with Peter Frampton. Must be pretty talented.

34 out right now. Foggy. Suppose to be mid-40's before another serious singles cold front moves in on Monday.

Hope it melts the ice everywhere and some of the 7 plus inches of snow we got yesterday. Hard to tell now with the ice on top.

Be safe, be warm. Think Spring.

We were going to come home tomorrow but the its suppose to snow again, and warm up to 30f with a 35mpg wind and the snow will stick to the highways and make them an absolute mess. They will be a skating rink. Man this is getting old in a hurry......

30 this morning headed to 38 today. Well the slush from yesterday froze back last night. We have about 6 inches of a very wet half frozen half melted snow left. Ground is froze and ditches are plugged. Nice big mess. Birds start leaving tomorrow and it's supposed to be cold. Maybe I can get a few more spots cleaned up and some more will melt.

Drew are you still looking for a generator? I ran across these guys online. Object moved I know nothing about them other than they advertise some low hour Gen sets for what seams like reasonable prices.

23 pages behind this time. Seems I've become a TBN slacker...

I posted in the seat time thread. I did a little back-dragging the snow to try to clear some of the driveway.

I noticed an odd sensation like the left rear had a flat spot. a shudder/thump every rotation of the tire.

Any ideas what that might be?

Be well all,
David

Frozen tire fluid?

Frozen tire fluid?

They are filed with RV antifreeze I believe, but that is what I suspected might be happening.

It has warmed up today and I'm thinking I will go spend an hour in the slush so maybe I an get my car down the hill to my carport...

I will see if it is still happening.

Thanks,
David

Just finished clearing up with the bucket. Man! Will I be happy to get the snow blower hitched to the 4520's 3PH! The loader bucket did OK, but snow blowers just do so much better! The bucket does OK, but leaves a lot of windrows.
I did have to move some frozen stuff so the postal guy (girl?) could get to my neighbor's (part timer, here on weekends only) mail box. There were some tall (5-6 foot or more) piles...more like a wall, left from the previous township "plowing". That's in quotes since the township plowing is so halfassed. I was actually a bit surprised how well the 4520 did. The finishing touches were done by my neighbor since I didn't want to get too too close to his mailbox.

Anyway, work is done...time for a beer!

35° here right now heading to 54° so they say. Hope you guys out East warm up soon. Out West we haven't enough snow to even use the snow-blower for the last two years. Kind of scary in a way. We have had more rain then in the past and last year we got a lot of snow up high but not this year.

Installed a horn on my tractor last night for kicks and grins. Also wired it for work lights now I just need the lights.
