Drinking first cup of coffee. 28° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 44° with lots of sun. Driving to Mooresville, NC today after stops for fuel, propane, and truck wash.
The driver not high on my list won the NASCAR championship. Congrats Kyle Bush.
Drew, driving a comfortable and well handling vehicle has a lot to do with long drives. But all the rest of our driving days will be less than 400 miles. Wife does not drive motorhome. When working I put 100K miles on a vehicle every 18 months.
Buppies, I wonder how close you were to this area.
Irv, my neighbors and son put about 5 hours on tractor yesterday. Front blade makes moving snow easy.
Kyle, hope it is still green when we are in your area later next week.
Good Morning All.

Enjoy your drive Ron. Sounds like you are getting out just in time.
What tires are you running on your motorhome?

I was on the road in sales for about ten years, but my biggest year was about 50k, all over the state of NJ. Not long distance driving, all urban/suburban/freeway.
Lovely places like Patterson, Jersey City, Newark and Camden. Where you click your door locks just to be sure.
You sound like you are out on the open road, like now. Good place to be, and as far away from the cities as possible. Except to visit of course. Nice to visit, good to get away...
may all the bugs miss your windshield and a lovely drive today.

Stars were sure pretty this morning.

Good Morning. 0530, clear, 37F with 79% humidity. Forecast high of 59F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 37F tonight. I haven't been out to look, but I'm guessing we had our first frost this morning. The historical average {for Tallahassee} is October 28, so over three weeks late this year. I got the greenhoue covered just in time. My cousin came by with her two kids yesterday and they spent a couple of hours helping me untangle really big sheets of plastic in the wind. Not sure I could have done it without the help.

Ron, I can always tell when winter is really here by the start of your southern migration. Safe travels to you.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Congratulation to the Shrub for his 1st Championship. Now I can have a few Sundays with no TV watching to plan around. Only 90 days, 6 hours and 52 minutes until Daytona, but who is counting:eek:

34 here with a feels like of 31 high going to 63. No frost on the grass, but with the full moon the rye is really getting tall and green. I am sill a little warmer than Larro with tonight only going to 40. Working today, with having to change a bunch of elevator inspection signs out in Suwannee. It will take longer to drive there than do the work. Then change a kitchen faucet out.

Everyone stay safe out there, remember that bridges and overpasses freeze before roads do, and have a good week

Never mind Ron, the wind shifted, it will be 60˚ this afternoon.

Ron safe travels. Remember keep the bugs off your glass, and the bears off your... Fill it in.

My last job required me to put about 50k a year on trucks. Now I'm lucky to do that in 5 years. I don't miss it either.

To bad Gordon couldn't go out a Champion, but kudos for Kyle for winning his first. I will experience Daytona for the first time next year, thanks for letting me know how much time my wife has to pack. Hope it is enough.

Whipper is sitting at the edge of the front yard watching the house, literally watching the house. She missed the 3 coyotes and deer right behind her.
The pic only shows one coyote (left and above of the steel post) they were moving fast.

I'm looking for a 1911 in 45acp.

my father had one of those in WWII, and dutifully handed it in.
Only shot it once, at Japanese planes overhead while stationed in China early in the War.
I think he wanted an excuse to shoot the darn thing. He was an Airforce Intelligence Major, rode a desk.
Pics showed signs like Read and Heed, and Loose Lips Sink Ships

I've shot that gun, thirty years ago, up in the Poconos in PA with the chief of police, who brought along a bunch of handguns. I've never been around handguns, but like guns. Odd for a pacifist, I know. So I shot that thing and I believe a 44 Mag. That had a long barrel while the 45 was shiny, shorter and heavy. Real hand cannons.
The flame would shoot a foot out of the gun. And what a bark even with headsets. Hard for an amateur like me to hold but at least I didn't conk myself on the head with it. What kind of round were you considering Farmer? Lots of videos on Youtube of guys hunting with pistols. Those handguns would take down a large boar or coyote I'm sure. I guess you just have to hit it...;)

Don, great pic. Oh mighty protector....

Got 6" of wet and heavy snow the day I was helping my friends move...was quite a miserable job but they are good people so I am glad I could be there. Later this week it is supposed to get as high as 52 degrees...crazy Michigan weather.

Just proves what a great house watch dog she is, never lost focus on the house. I bet she would have alarmed if they tried to break in.

Don't know if they're any good, Farmer, but Tractor Supply has a sale going on this week that might help. I have small hands, and swapping out the trigger for a "short" version made all the difference on my SIGs. Don't know if they can be ordered that way, but I picked mine up from Brownell's and did the work myself.

Good Morning! 50F @ 8:00 AM. Partly cloudy skies. High near 65F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Carb parts came out of the dip coated with hard water deposits, so today they get a vinegar bath. And I'll need to call the softener man, as his last fix to the water softener didn't hold (again).

Hope everyone gets everything done in this shortened holiday week...
