Good morning!!!!

It was well over freezing last night, like 37 this morning? It is grey and hazy, gives me a tad of the "don't give a flip" kind of 'tood this morning... I need to shake it off and get stuff done.

Tomorrow looks like rain, and I've planned some chainsawing, because I need to watch some playoffs (all 3 of my wife & I's teams are playing this weekend!).

the woodstove has been burning constantly for a week. the wood pile has shrank indeed! I need to let it go out long enough to remove some of the ash (there is not much really). it is warm enough inside I've opened windows in kitchen and living room to get a slight breeze through the main part of the house.

I'm loving heating with wood and wonder if I can get a wood fired furnace attachment to the heat pump when we fix up the house... for supplemental heat.

The ground is all spongy and squishy again because it warmed up, but not enough to dry anything out.

Be well all,
David

Good morning all. 39F this morning with heavy dew, forecast for 61F, increasing clouds and light winds. Christmas decorations are put away, found some bike rides to consider, leaf clean up, and garage reorganize finish TMA list.

40.4F and mostly cloudy @ 12:30 ...

Got the tractor out yesterday and worked on cleaning up the area next to the shed where I have firewood rounds piled, along with various piles of recent wood chips, leaves, and grass.

Also worked on consolidating two piles of what used to be wood chips that came from the area they cleared when they put in the gas well. Those chips have rotted into dirt at this point, will make good compost.

Rain due to show up pretty much any time now, need to see if I can get out there and get something get done before it starts.

Located Kill-A-Watt meter yesterday, so might have to start a power usage audit.

Looks like I wasn't quite quick enough ... I can already hear the rain on the roof ...

Picked up some more fish the other day: 3 Red Wag Plattys, another Kuhli Loach, a small Plecostomus catfish, and a brown Nerite snail to try and keep the algae at bay in the 10 gallon. Between the Plattys, the Pleco, and the snail, they've put a pretty good dent in it already.

Also grabbed a suet cake for the feeder by the picture window in the living room.

Hopefully that will keep The Squeak somewhat entertained ...

Rswyan, Our local weekly newspaper holds a pet photo contest once a year. I think you should enter the pic "Bowl of Squeak". You could win!
Now there's an idea ...

Would go along with the write up we got for the monster Zuchinni we raised a while back ...

It definitely beats the little dressed-up dogs.
LOL !

Wish my iPhone could record video ... it would be a hoot.

Very nice lookin' cart BTW ... I'm sure you'll find it very useful ... thanks for the pic

... RS cute pic of the Squeak
Thanks ... best part was I didn't have to pose it ... she gets into anything and everything all on her own ;)

Latest thing has been her attacking her reflection in the black glass on the front of the dishwasher and the oven ... kinda looks like a dog furiously doing a dog paddle with its front paws.

Also does it to the fish in the little fish tank.

Didn't get much done today, but I gotta recuperate after yesterday!! 37 here, going up to 40 again tomorrow. Not ideal, but I'll take it! Hopefully no snow. I hope to get a few things done tomorrow.

Have a good one !

Big owl or big black panther?

Probably something that fought back that was a little too big to eat.

Internet is back up. We raised the antenna another 10' and hit another tower that is 4 miles closer, it's zipping now. I also added three more 12' poles to attach the the guy wires to so I don't have to worry about running into wires.
