No problem...I'll just head to that winter wonderland, Florida!!

...I also have to run down the Deere dealer to purchase a pin that came out of the tractor's FEL linkage. Not sure how that happened, but I'm sure I'll find it when the snow melts.
Don, when offering stuff for free you need to throw something in that makes it worth traveling to pick it up.![]()
I did find half the pin this morning while installing the Honda's battery...
The pin had cracked at the cross pin hole (the hole the grease flows through) and finally broken. My guess is it took several hundred hours for this to finally propagate enough to fail.
The replacement pin (and nut) cost about 50 bucks...
Eric, is there room on your pillow for that tool, too? Please let me know how it performs. I'm still using a 30 year old clamp-on file guide, which seems to do an adequate job, but sometimes I think about alternatives.
discovered my county has a solar co-op, taking members till end of feb. They took bids on solar installs, and everyone in the co-op gets same price. I got an estimated cost from them for 5K and 9k system, that they ask we don't share. They are going to give me a firm quote. They offer 3 different panel types, Peimar 270w and 300w, solarworld 300w, and LG 320w. They use solaredge inverters and optimizers. They will do ground install for around .50 per W. all prices is before incentives.
So I went online to Wholesalesolar, and found I can get self install kit for about half of the co-op installed price. I asked them for a quote.
I average almost 2100 KWH per month, or 68 kwh per day, so not sure the payback is there.
I have a monitoring system on my geothermal systems, so I know how long they run per day per stage. I took geo current readings today, both low and high, also took load readings on water heater, pellet stove and washer / dryer. The big unknown is how long the water heater runs per day. I estimated 1 hr day for washer / dryer. In all these loads are around 90% of my electric usage, so it will be hard to reduce the usage without a cold house, and we keep it rather cool now.
