Good morning!!!!

Good Morning! 54F @ 7:00AM. Sunny. High 74F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Made it up to a balmy 83F yesterday with almost no wind. Spent a fair amount of time in the garage looking for my shutz gun that's used for applying truck bed liner. Eventually found it, but it appears I used the last of the disposable cans that go with it and will have to pick up more in town Monday. So today I'll have another look at the fiberglass cargo carrier, give it a good washing, and put it someplace safe until next Tuesday when I can finally do the deed.

They say you always find what you were looking for last time when you look for something else, and that also happened yesterday when I stumbled across the drawer full of old Craftsman wrenches and sockets that I was looking to put into my small take along tool box. The drawer was in the roll away bottom that I'd commandeered to carry the big compound angle sliding chop saw I purchased to help install the laminate flooring around here,. The drawer side was pushed up against the pallet of firewood in the garage, letting me forget they were there. :confused2:

The hummingbirds are starting to migrate through on their way north, as evidenced by the one feeder I had out being emptied in just a day. Also saw a rust colored Rufous in among the resident Anna's being an aggressive little piggy as usual. Must be a rude awakening for the one or two birds that wintered over here when all the migrators show up ruining the neighborhood!

Hope everyone enjoys a peaceful Sunday...

Walk? Run away, before your van ends up in a bankruptcy mess or worse bankruptcy fire!

Good Morning. 27 and going to a high of 45 Wind NNE 7 mph. 30% chance of either flurries or rain.
I haven't lit the wood stove yet.

I finally got the PC working again, sort of. I lost all my bookmarks, but at least I can recover most of the C drive. Boy, is this thing fast now! The new i7 Asus mo-board and a Zotac nVidia 1060 card are a good combination so far.
List of new stuff within the HAF 932 case; New board, new Zotac video card, new 2 TB hard drive, new SSD for the C drive. I also got a new Hewlett - Packard printer.printer. That I am not too impressed with. Fast printing, good colours, but a PITA to set up.

Sounds like you got a speedy machine now. An SSD hard drive will surely give an older machine a new life. I ended up buying a Dell at auction. Plain and simple, an i5, 8Gig ram, win7 pro, in a small case. $159 + 19 shipping + 13 tax all in. Since I got such a good deal, I bought a Dell 24" Ultrasharp monitor for $124 + 13 shipping + 10 tax all in. They are both working like a dream. A new SSD would make it even faster. If I was a gamer, I'd probably want a faster video card.

Kyle, I was working in the shop a couple of days ago and looked down and a turkey hen was standing beside me. She was completely tame and I had to shoo her out of the shop with a broom.

I'm guessing she's looking for a place to nest but, it won't be in my shop!

I would've built her a dog/turkey house.

Started installing my 3rd function on the FEL yesterday and got all the hydraulics and valve finished...no leaks! Turned out to be a longer job than I planned due to such tight clearances when having to use 18, 20 and 22mm wrenches on many fittings. Next will be wiring the electronics and installing the new grip. Grapple delivery still about 2 to 3 weeks out.

Myla made a nice big pot of chili last night for her parents, our oldest son and wife and us to enjoy before watching the Tar Heels win.

Speaking of tight, no clearance jobs....I remember maybe 26 years back, I needed to change out the plug wires on my '88 V8 GMC truck. I changed them out 1 at a time under the hood to avoid making any mistakes. Boy, was that a timely pain. Next time, I labeled the old wires 1-8 and pulled them and their clips all out like a big spider and laid them out and copied with the new wires on the driveway. The new "harness" went right in with no problems and only took maybe 30 minutes with no backache.

Sorry for your water woes Hawkeye.

Don, and other locals, we are under tornado watch/warnings today. Keep your eyes open and stay tuned to radar.

I have a meeting with our pastor this afternoon. He's inviting groups of 10 over for dessert to his house to talk about upcoming "stuff". I believe that for the most part, he's spoon feeding changes to our elderly population to avoid confrontations over changes. Our old kitchen is still avocado color. That was avante gard back in the '60's. Hope it goes well for a smoother transition.

My old Impala has almost 332,000. Many things are going wrong with it. So many, that I've decided to take up my sister's offer to buy her 2012 Altima. It is kind of a mental struggle to give up on it because the engine is still in great condition. Problem short list includes, transmission, windshield, front wheel bearing hub assemblies, transaxle, catalytic converter...there's more but I just type this out to convince myself that I need to let it go. Just let it go...:)

Eric, hope your dirt moving chores are going well. Hope your grandson had a good time.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 57° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with sunny skies. Very nice day yesterday. Another one on schedule for today. Need a day of relaxing. Then some NASCAR at sisters place.
One of my neighbors had not left park as he had planned. Went over to check on him. One of his slides would to come in. Helped him check it out. Bound up on one side. Asked where manual was. He got it out. Said it would only have basic info. So I sat down and started reading. Info was in manual. Info did not fix problem. But did have info to reset motors so with help of 5 others we were able to get slide in. Hope rest of trip home goes better than yesterday.
RNG, got 2 iPhones and 2 iPads updated Friday with no problems. Did at my sisters place with a good hi speed internet connection. Forgot to take iPhone 5 with all my music with me. Been trying since then to get it downloaded. Looks like it is working today. Still have another iPhone to do. It's our backup phone. When on the road.
Need to stay close to home today. Final 4 is being held here. Traffic is a disaster with people trying to go nowhere. I think most of them are lost trying to figure out the freeway system around town.
Roy, good 4-1 post.
Good Morning All.

Toppop ours is a 2005 toro probably replaced all spindles at least once 60 inch deck 27HP fuel injected motor mows 4 acres with ease. This will probably be the only z turn we ever buy not enough hours to justify a new one. This one does all we want and then some. Two sets of blades changed once a month during mowing season. We have two other mowers both toro 21 in and 30in new to us but slightly used.

Great you have lost so much weight

Actually the old mower is still decent, but the deck needs rebuilding, which is what I'll do. I only mow 1.5 acres and it will do that in an hour and 15 minutes, I really don't need more. Just daydreaming.

52 now headed for the 60's today.

Awesome, great job. I started also, been working on it a few days, down 7lbs. Need to loose at least 100 more.

I'd like to lose a total of 60 lbs or so, there is no skinny guy in me trying to get out, I'm built like a bulldog! LOL

I hope you get everything and everyone back to normal.

66°F and .33 inches rain last 24 hours with the sun shining a bit this morning.

So, how does learning to fly my drone relate to a tractor forum? I rate learning to operate my backhoe as one of my life's humbling experiences. Learning to fly this drone is running a close second . Both rewarding :)

RNG - sure sounds frustrating.

Be safe
Have a great day

a tip of the hat to your Craftsman, Riptides.

and for Roy and Thomas and all you guys still looking at white stuff,

Sure could use some of your warm southern breeze this way.

The mowing season is off to a rough start this year. The got to be over 20 Craftsman finally blew up. She was burning copious amounts of oil, had her wheels replaced. The handle too, plus a blade and numerous pull ropes over the years. She slowed to an idle on a cut run and went out with a bang. An honorable death.

One wonders if this next one will last, the standard for longevity is a high bar to follow, now.
.
How about a pic of the old Craftsman? Also, keep us posted on your replacement endeavors. What engine did it have?
