Happy birthday Kyle! Sorry I missed it! Just hot and miserable, nothing else to say about that.

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 8:30AM. Sunny. High near 95F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Non-Newtonian fluid, Eric? Might make a good mouse trap if a little peanut butter was mixed in... But it's gotten to the point where I have plenty of options to keep me busy, I just have trouble figuring out what to do next!

Rode the side-by-side Kubota around most of yesterday morning spraying weeds, finding it a bit difficult to keep track of where I'd just sprayed. There are just too many wheel tracks there already, and the new ones don't stand out very well. Very likely some weeds got missed, while others got double doses. Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks what got missed. Used almost 5 gallons of glyphosate concentrate so far, and it looks like I need another five to finish. So off to Tractor Supply today for more, then another stint wrangling wires on the van at the mechanic's.

Also ordered cans of fix-a-flat for the Kubota. One tire already has a leak, and I suspect it's due to the thorns on the star thistle. Might as well put the stuff in all the tires, because at this rate it's only a matter of time before they're all leaking.

Hang in there, Gang, Friday's comin'!

Only cooled down to 75F last night from mid 90s yesterday. House did not cool off.

Happy belated birthday Kyle.

My wife had me weed wack around the fence line bushes last night and we placed the drip line in amongst the bushes. It seems to work well all the way to the end. Hoping we can get some good growth on the bushes so they filter some of the road dust. We have more neighbors now and they seem to make several trips in/out daily, stirring up great clouds of dust. We have not been able to use clothesline much this year it has been so dusty.

After a couple hours of weed wacking and messing around, I was soaked with sweat and done. I had a cool shower to cool down, heat saps my energy (which I don't have much of).

69°F and .11 inches rain.

No big plans to tax the shoulder.
Hoping Kekoa is ready to resume his homework.

Be safe
Have a great day

Check at TSC to see what they have in the way of pond dye (to keep the vegetation growth down)

They used to carry something- had "Blue" in the name - about $30 for 1/2 gallon or gallon.

Works great as a marking dye for spraying. Doesn't take much ... used to use a couple of ounces per 25 gallon tank.

Way cheaper than the dye that they carry that's meant for spraying.

Hey Ladysmith David, how is life treating you? Is your harem cooperative?

powerwashed about 200 feet of fence. Overdid it a bit. Came in really dragging and breathing hard. Purplish face pretty good indicator I was overheated. Shower felt great. Need to stay inside now no matter how nice it is outside.
Had a big glass of diet tonic water with quinine mixed with a big dose of straight black cherry juice. Pretty good.

Hey Ladysmith David, how is life treating you?

Drew,

I am doing well thank you. My 8 year old & my wife are still my biggest fans.

I know the heat & humidity brother! I've had a couple of weekends working all day in the blazing sun and humidity running my chainsaws and tractor. I need to post some of the pictures... I'm finally getting proficient with my saws, and honestly might need a bigger tractor (LOL) as some of the trees & logs I've moved were seriously stressing my little DK50... Over doing it is easy in this humidity.

Be well brother!

David

now we're talking, in Kubota terms you and I have an L tractor and M ambitions...
there are times we would all like a 7000 pound utility tractor under us, picking up those big trees...
Win that sales contest and have your boss get you a new DK90
all those cheap cruises I won once up on a time. Six cruises won by sales contests, and boy did I learn why having a decent
room on a ship is important. First cruise won got me an inner room next to the engine room.

very crampy, may have to go into hot tub. Drinking fluids like crazy. Right hand which was gripping the powerwasher nozzle
very unhappy. Carpal tunnel special up to the elbow. Hot tub is sounding good.
If only I had my tart. Everyone else is getting a tart but not me. :confused3:

Wife had the ac running in the camper, making lots of noise but putting out cold air. Really vibrating.

Good evening all. Tried to post this morning and the laptop locked up and just had to turn it off to reset. Went out and liquid weedeated, something that needed to be done long ago. Almost finished the stitching pony, just need to cover the jaws with leather.

Drew, Stitching pony is just a upside down T shaped thing to hold leather while you sew it by hand. Wife's new toy is just a modern spinning wheel.

Kyle, Happy late birthday. how big are birthdays in Texas?

Have a great day and Be Cool. Ed

How big? They last all week, therefore you are not late in wishing Kyle a HB.

You guys crack me up... Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. I enjoyed spending the time with the wifey and kids making the dessert.

Eric, sad about your ewe. How long do they typically live?

Drew, take it easy. The heat will get your dander and blood pressure up, thus the need to chew out the help. Can you put those plastic protection devices at the base of the trunks?

Please all take care in this heat (except you Sodamo :) and hope your shoulder gets better....Hint: shoulders take time to heal.

Good evening all. 78F for the start, clear, near calm wind. 102F for the high light wind clouded up for part of the afternoon. puttered this morning, then after lunch worked on boat issues, stern light knob came off and was dangling by wires, boat top had some aluminum extrusions fail and had to go to Canada to get replacements, and replaced the winch strap.

David, (Moss) good to hear from you!

Drew Pace yourself!!

No fear of heatstroke around here ! Forecast is telling us to not expect anything more than 18C/64F today. That's the joy of living in England, no real need for AC and more pockets to put stuff in due to the need to wear a jacket in peak summer

Kyle, most sheep generally live and reproduce for as long as they have teeth to eat with, which for these is 7-8 years, sometimes more. They can be hard to second guess though, animals with seemingly nothing wrong still reserve the right to die at any time they want to, even if the very best Shepard or vet has inspected them only the day before.

Mid-50's right now...high in the low 80's today.

I'm heading to Connecticut for a meeting this morning...which is why I'm on TBN this late (for me). No use in getting up too early...did that Monday and it took me a couple days to recover from that 16 hour day.
When on my way home, I might stop at Home Depot in West Lebanon. I bought a Makita sawzall there last week...blade lock is extremely difficult to use and the blade doesn't lock in when I do lock it down.
If I don't do this today, I'll go down tomorrow

72 going to 98, after 100 yesterday.

Eric, I dream of days of 64...enjoy!

I went to the gym yesterday so I could burn some calories where there was A/C. On the way, saw the country store had smoke rising from the chimney of their towable grill parked out front...stopped there on the way home and picked up a pound of still warm bar-b-q...Myla and I had some of it for lunch...so, put those calories I burned right back on. First time I've tried their bar-b-q, very good. Forgot to take my gas can to town, but there won't be anything to mow for quite some time since grass is as brown as I've ever seen it.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the moon landing...I still remember being glued to the TV (telly) to watch that.

Ed, I got to worrying yesterday morning when you didn't post. Glad to see Moss drop in and doing well. Haven't heard from DABSGT in a while.
