Good morning!!!!

70 outside this AM. Highs into the 100's again today. It's really bad for a lot of people around here. The sun and humidity sap your being out of you.
Today is finish mowing around my round bales that were in the front yard. Should take a few minutes. LOL.

Lots of gatorade on tap and ready to go. Lots of fresh water in the house. We get the nice big water bottles that chill oh so good. This time of year, the water coming out of the kitchen, which still has not been remodeled is pretty warm. One of these days, we will finish what we started some 12 years ago. LOL.

Be safe, have a great day all. Drink lots of water today and stay chilly!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 68 with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 90° with sunny skies. Started moving stuff out of wood bin. Helper will be a no show today. It's tough when you have parents, 2 pairs of grand parents, baseball, and band practice trying to use your time. Good kid and not enough time in the day for everything. Gone to band camp next week. Cut lawn today and continue moving stuff from bin.
Drew, the plastic wraps work good. Heavy duty types work best. Here is a way to do it with a cheap length of PVC pipe.
Good Morning All.

Don, Kyle and Ron, thanks. I ordered a dozen of the grey ones from Amazon. Great idea.
pleasant 74 now, zooming up to 95 with heat index of 109
sounds like a water wagon day, ride around and spray myself with water when hot.
Surprising how nice just running cool water over your hands and wrists is
Yesterday I had to put hose on top of my head and let it run for awhile

Good morning! The temp finally dropped below 80 at 77˚ but will shoot up again at sunrise, another 100˚ day.
I still have not had my 2nd weed eating day on the front fence. Little things keep popping up during my 3 hour morning window of productivity.

Hey wingsprd, get out the Georgia obituaries!

Same hot and humid here as all you others have.

Good morning all. 70 right now going to 94 with a 30% chance of T storms. Heat advisory on both sides of me. Thankful for the mountains. Going to get the wood ready to turn a roller for my wife's rug loom. I am changing it so that she does not have to warp it after every 8 or 10 rugs. (It only takes about 20 hr to warp it.) This new roller is the first step. Going over to the wood turners school where there is a lathe big enough to turn it. the teacher/ friend will help me.

Buppies, I worked as a sander on a paving crew when I was 17. Hot exhausting work, be careful out there.

Wngsprd. I started to post yesterday morning and my laptop locked up and I had to turn it off to get it going again. That is the 2nd tine lately and both times I was typing a post on TBN.

Have a great COOL day. Ed

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 5:30AM. Sunny. High 97F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Got the holes on the van ground out and painted yesterday, wire/hose re-routed, and the grommet/tube in place just waiting for the paint to dry. Mechanic still hadn't gotten the insulation installed on the fuel tank, and has kept complaining it was too dirty/damaged/didn't have the right glue. So I brought it home with me and will take care of it over the weekend. He did start the installation on the A/C after I offered to do it for him; I think he really needs the money and doesn't want to let go of the work. Still have some wiring to sort out on the back of the van, just what does that blue wire with the red stripe do?:confused2:

There was a story on the news last night about a fire suppression system that saved a house in the Big Sur fire last year. It uses a series of sprinklers to spray the same stuff the borate bombers drop, and can be triggered automatically by sensors or remotely by a phone call. The name of the company that designed it is Firebreak Protection Systems, and I've got an email in to them asking for more info. It won't be cheap, but then how much is a house and everything you own worth?

Headed for another hot weekend, the sixth or seventh +100F weekend in a row for us. Picked up some blue pond dye and more glyphosate at Tractor Supply yesterday, so will get out on the Kubota and spray this morning before it gets too hot. Was surprised that glyphosate has gone from $45/2.5 gallon jug to $65 in the year since I last bought it. And the clerk wanted everything but my astrological sign before she'd sell me any. Be interesting to see what happens next time it goes on sale and I try to pick up 10 gallons of the stuff.

TGIF folks!

77°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 104° today. Quite ready for this warm stuff to move on already.

/ Good morning!!!! #60,291
76.8F and partly cloudy @ 09:00 with a current dew point of 73F , supposed to be mostly cloudy today with a high of 88F ... low probability of rain tho' ...

Got some more welding and grinding done on the soil screen frame yesterday, was 73F/16% RH in the shop when I got up there ... felt pretty good.

Picked up a couple of those Zirconia flap discs at HF while I was out yesterday, be interesting to how much better they are than the regular ones. Also ran by and paid the lawn guy while I was in town.

Then headed over to the clinic and got the last of my teeth extracted ... 12 in one shot. They had me so numb I couldn't even feel my nose ...

All in all it went pretty well ... there was only one tooth which was problematic ... one of the root tips was shaped like a bulb and enclosed by bone ... the rest of the tooth broke off when he tried to pull it. Ended up having to grind out some of the jaw bone to get it out ... but he eventually did. Looking at gumming it for around 6 to 8 weeks while my mouth heals up, before I get fitted for dentures. Just taking Tylenol and Ibuprofen ... not really much pain at this point ... hope it stays that way.

Did find out that Menards is opening another store up in Cuyahoga Falls ... might be a little closer than the one in Massillon.

Lawn needs mowed, but I'm not sure if I'm really up for it. Also not sure if I want to be up in the shop breathing all that grinding dust either. Just have to see how I feel as the day progresses.

76 this morning and headed to 97 today. Currently 83. Heat index above 105 and heat advisory out.

Have to migrate chickens and move cows. Wife is wanting me to work on the bathroom closet and install the organizer. So that sounds like a cool enough job for today. Also need to set up sprinklers in the garden. Got it sprayed yesterday and before spraying I checked some seeds and they were swelled but not sprouting and were out of moisture.

Drew. We always used the 4 or 6 inch corrugated field tile cut to about 8 inches and split one side. Then slip around tree.

/ Good morning!!!! #60,293
The low temperature has been about the same for the last few weeks. In the low 50's, the same today 51*. The high was 83* yesterday.
The forecast for today is about the same. We did get a shower some time last night. Doesn't look like it amounted to much..

Making a trip to town today. May work on a neighbors fence, if I can get the chainsaw running when I get back. She has about a dozen poles that needs replaced.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

RNG,

TSC has gotten pretty proud of some (most) of their chemicals ... I couldn't believe how much glypho had gone up the last time I bought it.

The next time I have to buy any I'll probably make the trip to Rural King (45 - 50 minutes away) since it's not all that much further in terms of time and it is much cheaper there ($32 for 2 1/2 gallons ?)

Let us know if the pond/marking dye helps at all.

69F this morning, headed to mid 80s.

Coffee tastes good this morning, grand daughter got into preschool 3 days per week (6:30-11:30). She loves it so far, hopefully it stays that way. Wife and daughter both impressed with facility and people so far.

/ Good morning!!!! #60,296
Rural king had generic roundup on sale. Cal probably will ban it soon.

94° in the shade at 11am.

/ Good morning!!!! #60,297
I hooked up the sprayer to the tractor and spent a couple of hours assasinating weeds, my new electric divirter valve works great, now I can flip the switch and change from boom to wand and not have to get off the tractor! It was 90 with heat index of 98 at 11 when I finished.

/ Good morning!!!! #60,298
68°F and .5 inches rain and coming down. Good, we need it.

Off to Hilo, breakfast, errands, pickup my prescription.

Be safe
Have a great day

figs anyone? a neighbor's established tree, not mine
first apple got a brown spot, was pretty unripe.

very pleased to see today that my third out of three fig trees has finally sprouted green.
I hand weeded for about an hour this morning in the sun and had to call it quits.
Then I watered everything so as to weather these super hot days.
And then I powerwashed another fifty feet of fence and ground up some junk in the chipper.
Then back inside for a long shower, and even then hard to cool off.
Temp in office about 77, won't get down any lower. 96 and direct sun out. Downstairs I could have a meat locker but upstairs no.
Thankfully there is a big ceiling fan over my head keeping me comfortable.

I bet Farmer's fans are running like mad. It's hot out there....
Cool spot seems to be in Hawaii.

RS, sorry you had to go through that. Sounds dreadful. Sounds like you are going to be the taste tester of
all the apple sauce out there for a little while. Cottage cheese. Maybe a slice of the cherry pie I have cooking right now.
Which reminds me to go down and check on it. Turns off when done but you never know.
