62 right now...80 will be the high.

Now that I have a functioning sawzall, I reckon I'll finishing cutting down that PTO drive shaft and see how that flail mower does. Probably mow the lawn too...at least get it started.

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 6:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High around 100F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Never got to the spraying yesterday, it was just too windy. Maybe this morning.

Geez, RS, you sure know how to have a good time. Had four wisdom teeth pulled in one sitting back when I was in my 20s, and I'd hate to have a dozen done now. Hopefully you got some good meds to manage the pain and can sleep through the worst of it. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery!

I did find the piece of wiring harness I needed to hook up the license plate lamps, but had to make repairs on one of the lamp pigtails with pieces of harness from the parts van. That got me to a late lunch, then a bit of a siesta, then screened the latest John Wick movie. Lots of shoot 'em up, not much plot, and thankfully not much dialog from Reeves. And they really trashed an SS Chevelle and a really nice Mach I Mustang in the process.:hissyfit:

No progress on the BBQ delivery yet, either. Called yesterday and am supposed to get a call back after they check with the shipper again. Am very close to cancelling the order and paying full boat down at the local hardware store...

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Stopped and looked at some string trimmers yesterday...had an interest in learning about the rechargeable battery ones. Thought it would be handy to use for frequent light trimming. I broke my gas Stihl running the 3 point knife blade the other day...I think it is just the cable from the trigger...the engine runs fine, but no tension on the trigger or acceleration. I'll try to diagnose today.

The place I stopped had Echo brand, with which I am not familiar. They had one 36 volt unit, checked out pretty good. The salesman tells me (off the record) that Echo makes a 58 volt unit, but only Home Depot sells it. It has a split shaft, like the Stihl Kombi. He said he is gonna get the 58 volt at Home Depot, use the top half, and then use the bottom half various implements from the gas powered line that he sells.

I may look into it. Anyone have a battery Echo trimmer?
I have two rechargeables and love them, most of trimming is simple and a half hour will do it all, I do most of my trimming with Roundup! :D

Hot and humid as h3ll today, yesterday, tomorrow. But it's late July, so that's what we get.

/ Good morning!!!! #60,326
Yesterday made it to 97 with a heat index of 112. Today is supposed to be a little hotter. And it's well on its way. But a 10 degree cool off tomorrow when rain chances come back into forecast. Currently 90 and 104.

It's a take care of chickens and check cows kind of day today. Maybe see about pump on sprayer. Had a wire brake off. Need to see about soldering it back on today. If that don't work then it's a trip to TSC or RK. TSC will be 10% or so higher but it's 20 miles closer.

Also need to run in to town and get shots and dewormer for cattle. Vet coming Tuesday to pregnancy check cows. So will do everything in one trip through the shoot.

I use Echo gas power equipment. Weed eater, back pack blower, and chain saw. Been really good for me. Just wish chain saw had more bar speed. It's a slow cut compared to a Stihl or Husky. But no battery experience.

I did mow last night, finished just before sunset, wasn't too bad. Glad I didn't wait until today.

There have been starlings and blackbirds starting to flock for about 2-3 weeks, that's at least three weeks early, anyone else seeing this?

Ah, a new John Wick movie. The one all about pacifists and Buddha? not hardly....
on Youtube several folks have made clips of all the John Wick action shots.
RNG, is that at the theatre?

Just came in after chipping a full trailer load of brush and tree clippings and decided that the advice here of a wise man, or two,
saying pace myself held true. Enough. Nice shower and shave and I feel presentable again. Full mug of coffee helped too.

Just came in to dry off. Not from rain, unfortunately. unless my dripping qualifies for precipitation.

We have had a flock of cowbirds move in this week...no starlings or regular blackbirds.

The 5 baby Carolina wrens fledged from the nest on top of the porch speaker yesterday. They just flew around to the front porch and clustered like a covey of quail...took a nap, and then the parents got them over to the bushes...gone now.

71.5F, wet, and overcast @12:00 ... 0.33" of precip so far, looks like a little more is on the way ... but it appears as though the bulk of it has moved through already.

Just got up a few minutes ago ... probably slept for 8 or 9 hours ... like a rock ... :D

Will be an inside day for sure ... but I dunno if I'll really end up doing anything or not.

Need more coffee and to finish waking up and see how I really feel.

Would like a couple hours of dryness for Kekoa's CGC class this morning.

Be safe.
Have a great day.

RS, sorry you had to go through that. Sounds dreadful.
LOL ... yeah well, it sure wasn't my idea of a fun time ... but it really wasn't all that bad.

Probably the worst part of it was getting the local injections into the roof of my mouth (hard palate) inboard of the teeth ... those really hurt when he stuck the needle in (repeatedly ...) ... but fortunately only for as long as the needle was in there. All the rest of 'em were NBD ...

Sounds like you are going to be the taste tester of all the apple sauce out there for a little while. Cottage cheese. Maybe a slice of the cherry pie I have cooking right now.
Thanks heavens for food processors eh ...

We have two identical ones ... Sunbeam Oskars I think ... they work very well to grind up most anything - except for bone - into a nice soft paste ...

very cool pics Don, thanks. That combine has a lot of belts, probably didn't have to cover them way back when.

I forgot your annual barbecue is coming up. It always seems to be at the very hottest time of the year.
Enterprising person could sell swamp coolers pretty easily that day.

Yes, my HOME Theater!

I seldom go to the movies these days, just too many rude people talking, using their phones, blocking the screen, etc. to make it enjoyable. Then there's the magnificent advantage of being able to pause the film for a break to make more popcorn, grab a beer, or...

rs, I sure hope you can manage the pain when the meds wear off.
Yeah ... doesn't really seem too bad at this point ... no constant aching or anything, just a little tenderness in my mouth and occasionally a short sensation of headache (which I usually never get)

I got on the Tylenol and Ibufprofen right after I got home like the dentist said and have been pretty good with keeping up on them.

IIRC, you don't drink much if at all?
That's correct ... a six pack of beer might last me a month or two.

Don't really touch the hard stuff much anymore ... might have to consider it tho' ...

Gonna be a tenuous 6 weeks or so.
Yup ... and the real fun is probably still ahead.

Hope the brake job went well and you guys get some rain and a bit cooler temps.

/ Good morning!!!! #60,337
 That would be hard on the poor tooth fairies finances too. Did she have to leave an IOU note under your pillow?
I haven't checked yet ... but I'm guessing not ... :D

Good luck with your reclamation project ...

I would not want to be RS waking up this morning, or in the middle of last night.
Not really much in the way of pain here, sleeping pretty soundly.

Kinda surprising actually ... you'd think that with grinding away the bone to get that one root tip it would be sore ... dunno ... mebbe bone doesn't have as much in the way of nerves as other tissue ... :confused3:

At any rate, I'm sure counting my blessings.

We're all pulling for you. (heh heh heh)
LOL ... thanks (I think)

Maybe a 2014 dark blue Corvette convertible. With a stick, while I can still drive one. Hmmmmm.
I like it ...
