Yep, big cat tracks at the pond View attachment 517161

Good spot to capture a track. Hope Whipper doesn't run into that big cat. Cougars/mountain lions have tracks about 3 to 3.5 inches wide and a walking stride about 12 to 16 inches apart. We have bobcats here, tracks and gait about half size of the cougar. Trail cam time!

67 high of 87 more humidity a normal August day

/ Good morning!!!! #60,803
Well, both Agri-Supply and Woodmaxx only order (import) a certain number at a time.
Agri-Supply ordered 16 or 17 with a few week wait. Woodmaxx went from the middle of July to late August before the next lot came, which is why I have a Caroni rather then a Woodmaxx.
So, put those delays in to your equations...
As you can see, mine is set at full offset to the right. The Woodmaxx has a hydraulic side shift, but it doesn't appear to go any further than the Caroni. Caroni also has a hydraulic side shift kit, but I doubt I need to have hydraulics with it's $800 price tag (plus you'd have to assemble the kit).

Thanks for passing along info...very helpful.

Morning All!

Thermostat said 68 outside and i could see many hummers fighting for the dregs in the feeders so I HAD to stop and go outside for a sit with my coffee.

Had a good crew of humming birds, they are really sucking down the juice my wife makes for them...

Be well all,
David

Good morning all. 62 now going to 86 with a 30% chance of T storms. Hope to get back to working on wife's loom today and need to mow. We will see what happens.

David, That is wonderful, You are blessed. I know that was a happy meal.

Wngsprd, How many hummers do you have. Told my mom yesterday about your hummers and about 5 min. later she exclaimed, 2 1/2 gal!

Have a GREAT day. Ed

Good Morning!!!! 80F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. Record high temperatures expected. High 104F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

2 1/2 gallons a day, Wng? That's a lot of sugar! The birds here keep me on my toes at 1/2 gal/day and three feeders...

Very seldom see the big cats here, Don, but they're around all the time. I'll find an occasional track in the dust or mud like you did, but mostly hear them at night. I'd prefer not to see them, but it is a bit creepy knowing that I'm being watched, and perhaps being considered for a meal.:confused2:

Good news, David. Hope she has many more such checkups.

Grit blasted more parts yesterday, and now have a list, well three actually. One for gloss black paint, one for satin black paint, and one for satin silver paint. Hammered out some dents in one of the hub caps, then applied some Bondo to get the last little bit flat. That'll get sanded today, then if it isn't too hot when I finish, primed today. But with the temps already at 80F, it'll likely be too hot by the time I'm ready. The new exhaust system arrived from England yesterday, in good condition and in only two days. Since I'm not in much of a hurry for these parts, it was a bit of a waste of 80 pounds sterling for the shipping, but I wasn't given any options by the manufacturer. :confused3: With a little luck I'll get a chance today to see how well they fit, and whether or not I have all the bits that are needed to attach them to the bike.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

66°F and mostly clear skies this morning, going up to 90° today. We got some nice surprise showers yesterday evening. The sun was shining and I was seeing mostly blue skies, so I didn't even know it was raining until I looked out the kitchen window and saw the drops hitting the surface of the lake. Never did figure out where it was falling from, but it fell pretty good for about 15 minutes. We'll take it.

The boy said his arm was sore yesterday, but not terrible. He went back to work today on light duty until the stitches come out. Here's the pre-stitch view.

Great news for your wife, David.

68 this morning and headed to 86 today. PM thunderstorms likely.

Finish mowing Johnson Grass and start spraying today.

David good news.

Good morning! 75˚ chance for rain. But they have been known to lie.

Wngsprd the tracks were only about 2.5" so it must be a bobcat. David good news on your wife's remission.

Time for a Sam's run for picnic supplies for 1200 and spend $500 - lots of red solo cups - it pretty much fills the Subaru completely.

Water volley ball later if it doesn't lightning, we don't care about the rain we are wet anyway.

I got a letter from my Health Insurance co. yesterday. They listed a bunch of heart drugs I should be on and I should ask my Doctor to prescribe them to me. WHAT???? I was able to get off those drugs and their side effect with whole food plant based diet. Oh well, they are just following the guidelines of the drug companies. Follow the money . . . .

The low this morning was 46*, yesterday high was 88*. Today is calling for 90* with sunny skies and the wind picking up to 15-20 mph. No rain for the next few days.

Eric - wngsprd. I think that your both right about this guy. I'm hoping the best for the neighbor.

Talking about hummingbirds, I'm setting on the deck and have two feeders out. One is all most empty and the other one is about half full. There was about 8-10 birds trying to get to the one that's all most empty. And only two birds at the one half full. I think that if they didn't fight a much they wouldn't need to eat as much.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

I'm Medicare eligible today! Had to go in and renew my license this morning, 65 feels a lot like 64!
Now it's back to the insurance forms, tractor shopping and lining up contractors to get to work.

We got .83" rain in 45 minutes yesterday, formed right over us, two miles away was dry as a bone, covered an area about 3 miles by 4 miles, only rain anywhere in the area. Hot and humid today.

76.1F @ 11:00, high for today is predicted to be 83F. High yesterday hit 88F. About a 40% chance of a shower later this afternoon.

Kubota didn't want to turn over yesterday so it spent the day on the battery charger. Instead, I spent the day picking up stick and limbs, then raking up the cut grass in that little area in the woods just north of the polebarn. Just about got it all done. The grass is pretty splotchy ... probably should overseed it this fall.

Have some spraying to do over there - lots of poison ivy growing the adjacent woods - so that will be the first order of the day, after uncovering the house sparrow trap. Only one bird survived the day yesterday, hopefully catch a few more today.

Also got the leaves (and moss) raked up in a 10' x 42' area on the north side of the polebarn. Need to load that up and take it to the compost pile.

About 20' of surface drain on either side of the northeast corner is low and doesn't completely drain ... so it needs dug up and reset a little higher. The good news is that it isn't buried that deep ... the bad news is it's set in clay (now dry clay) and will probably be a real PITA to dig out and reset ... :(

RS, sounds like we were spraying together yesterday, although several hundred miles apart.
Yup ... :)

I put the sprayer on the 3 point and mixed 50 gallons...sprayed the gravel driveway and then 7 food plots, getting them ready for fall plantings.
It sure goes a lot faster using a boom (or boomless) rather than a wand.

Two of my summer plots failed, so will replant for fall, and some of the clover plots are years old, and need replanting.
Here's hoping you get good germination and it all comes in well.

Ended with about 10 gallons left, so drained into empty 2.5 gallon glystar plus jugs I've saved for this purpose (the ones marked do not reuse). Will use this mix for the backpack sprayer.
Often do that as well myself  ... don't think I've ever thrown one of those 2 1/2 gallon jugs away ... either use them for leftover spray or old oil. Have separate ones for gly, trimec, pramitol, etc.

Air is smoky from fires, none close, but still poor air quality. Should be in 90s again today.

I asked my 3yr old grand daughter if she wanted to help me in shop in the other night, she said, yes, I (she) can drive tractor. So we went out to shop, she helped steer tractor as we backed out and parked tractor, she is learning to turn and it is working, she turns the powerwheels better now (ride on barbie jeep with battery power). We swept the shop (had grass and dirt from mower servicing). We took turns with broom and dustpan and then moved tractor back inside. As we were walking back to house, she wanted to drive my pickup. I told her another day... I really enjoy making these memories.

Before the safety police get upset, I am aware of and accept the risks of my behavior.

69°F and 1.41 inches rain last 24 hours. Stopped for now.

Likely too wet to resume mowing today.
Really like the new weather tech window deflectors I put on the Pilot. Nice to drive in the rain with the windows open a bit but remain dry.

Thanks for all the good thoughts regarding wife, reinforces how blessed I am.

Be safe
Have a great day
