Been doing work on smart road recently in BBurg fascinating what they do. Test cars that go by radar, how cars and pedestrians react with each other test strips with varying thickness and types of asphalt and stone. The auto manufacturers use the test facility to test new cars etc. one of only two in the country I'm told

I've seen that road while in Blacksburg...cool that you are getting to work on it.

40 and rain going to 53...the low predicted Friday night has been lowered again to 21...will be our first hard freeze.

Randy, think of you often. I have so much for which to be thankful.

I had an infection in one eye when I awoke Sunday. Didn't clear up, so called our eye doc yesterday...she's out until Monday so went to the urgent care center affiliated with our county's hospital...great service...and simple diagnosis...pink eye, which my wife had already diagnosed...believing I picked it up at the gym, which I go to 4 or 5 days a week, including the day before the infection started. I always try not to touch my face so I don't catch a cold until I've washed my hands, but must have rubbed my eye without thinking.

They sent a prescription for an ointment to a local pharmacy, but when I went to pick it up, learned they didn't have, so they sent it over to WalMart...first time dealing with their pharmacy, very pleasant and helpful folks, and very busy.

I need to fill up the wood rack on the porch today once the rain stops...been trudging out to the shelter for a few splits each time I need to feed the stove. Got some paperwork to do this morning, and then maybe a little hunting this afternoon.

Good morning! 47 and feeling like November finally. I don't like to see 90's in November.

The at&t sales man said the iPad I'm considering for Mom will not send text messages to any non-iphones. I'm trying to figure if this is a deal breaker or not. She already has a mental block about learning anything new - this will be a tremendous challenge. Of the last 5 things I bought her that she did not want she loves after she uses them - I keep reminding her.

Randy, stress will play havoc on the heart when the body releases adrenalin (epinephrine) and other stress hormones that temporarily stun the heart. It's good to get checked out to give you peace of mind. Strange new heart PVCs and pains should subside after a month. Don't let the stress accumulate, find something to laugh about and do an activity that is relaxing. Take care of yourself first.

I see Gray2 has left a mouse to be cleaned up by the front door, good kitty.

thanks, it actually did start to swell up around my right eye, really odd. Some improvement this morning, doc said it would take at least three days for this amount of swelling to go down. Lost a few pounds :thumbsup:

I’ve lost a few more pounds too, apparently I’m not as good at cooking as I remembered.

28°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 57° today. First morning I've had to scrape frost from the windshield on my car. Be glad when we get the garage cleaned out again.

It's like riding a bike, Randy. It'll all come back to you. Just remember that you have to eat.

"The boy" will be 19 in March, Eric. I'm not sure it's the "new guy rebellion" in his case. I've been around for 14+ years, more so than his own father. He just has some issues with certain things; namely women and authority figures. He doesn't like being told what to do, and especially by women. Sadly, in that respect, he's very much like his father. He's been developing the same attitudes that he's always said he hated about how his dad treats people. And yet...
We're both befuddled by it, honestly.

The low this morning was 23*, yesterday's high was 50. Today's going to be in the 50's . Sunny now but cloudy by this afternoon with 10-15 mph wind.

Making the weekly trip to town today.
