I'm kind of curious how far the water from the pressure tank will go-- everything but the kitchen sink is on the well water. I need someone else to help me with turning the pump back on, so I can watch that the pressure gauge at the tank is increasing and they can cut it back off right away if it doesn't. It is a positive displacement submersible pump, so it will quickly get up to 10 bars of pressure -- 150 psi if the pipe is frozen, and then I'm not sure what will break!

Another project for this year is adding some additional pressure sensor or something to turn off the pump incase such a condition would occur. This is our first year using the water from it in the house. Before it was just running irrigation water in our gardens during the summer.

JB and Buckeye, if you like the RAV4 and similar, you should check out the offerings from KIA and Hyundai. If you haven’t you will be surprised by the quality and content. I would have laughed if someone told me a few years ago I’d be driving a KIA. My Borrego EX is a very high end body on frame truck/SUV with every bell and whistle I could have imagined with a 337 h.p. V8 and ZF 6 speed automatic. It is by far the quietest non Cadillac I’ve ever owned. Best NAV I ever had, auto electric tilt/telescopic steering that lets me in and out, high quality leather, doors sound like an SL Mercedes closing. I’m sure that trickles down to the crossovers as well.

Hyundai is an amazing company. I believe they still build the largest supertankers in the world.
They must know how to hire good engineers and for sure the Koreans have copied the Japanese as best as they can.
For a while the Japanese and the Germans set the standards for world cars. Now it seems to be a much bigger
playing field. And if you look at Buick's repair frequency, you can still get a reliable American car, as much as any tech laden gizmomobile
can be reliable. Fond memories of having to park my truck on the side of an out of state highway, turn it off, wait, and then when rebooted the nav got its brain back.
Surprised they don't have control alt delete on the dash...;)

I never quite understood the overlap between Kia and Hyundai, used to be Kia was the economy brand of Hyundai. Not any more...now they are like Chevrolet and Buick.
And Kia even makes their own version of a Cadillac, like a Hyundai Genesis. Very sophisticated cars.
A real Asian success story. I'm sure helped by a national work ethic that is not exactly what I see when driving through my small city...

I need to scrape some more of the hardened snow off the driveway this fine morning, then it is a trip to Sundridge to get meat and more parts for my fuel pump.

Have a good day all

Good morning! 60˚ winds from the North today only getting to 67˚.

Yesterday the tree man called and wanted to work so I hired him to take the tops off three dead oaks around the paver drive with his bucket truck. He left the trunks for the wood peckers. The trunks are surrounded by youpons so they don't stick out like a sore thumb like the "stump" did so no need to remove them, they can rot in place over the next 20 years.

I used the grapple all day and the temps got up to 80˚. It doesn't get much better.

I have a pic on the iPhone, I'll change devices and post one.

Poured second cup of coffee. 34° with rain this morning. Heading to 32° with rain changing to snow and wind in afternoon. Good day to get some inside projects done.

I cleaned up fence line on back end of property last summer. Pulled the 45 year old post out and put new ones in. But did not install new fence. Explained to neighbor, property description for both of us states that the fence line is property line. He helped me install the new post on the old fence line.

Kyle, I used Electrical Contact Grease on my wire connection until I saw the Deoxit post here. Works good.

Don, does that mean there is no shade on compass any more. Buckeye just needs to wait for the next Google update. :D

Prayer for those in need.

Good Morning All.

The tree on the NE side, according to the compass rose was the "stump" tree. Google has been taking the pic from the Southern sky and there is still a tree on the South side so I'm secure.

March is coming in like a lamb this morning, but the lion will be chasing it tonight.
I am looking at tucson SE. I bought an elantra for my son last yr, and like it. Never had one long term to see about durability. My hondas have proven to be reliable, although you can always get that one lemon. My boss said they have a 2015 pilot giving them trouble.

Noon time coffee. Quick reply from the Belarus tractor company. Unfortunately (for me) they have a dealer in Slovakia since the start of this year, so I'll have to go through the dealer if I want one of their tractors. And if he doesn't have those models, then I should try the guy in Hungary, who doesn't even have a website. Hungary, where the VAT is 27%. I think it was a different era when my friend had his shipped from the factory for $6000. I wonder how it would go if I drove up there with cash. It is too bad my current car doesn't have enough towing capacity for the needed trailer. Its only a 12 hour drive away...

Realistically, I'm back to looking at used tractors!

What happened to Ron? His post got cut mid sentence. Maybe he planted the wrong post and his sentence is underground? I will have to investigate.

More weird stuff on tbn. Rons post didnt display everything, was cut off mid sentence, therefore my comment above. Yet when i quoted him, it all showed up.
Here is what i saw.

Another mystery to solve.....

/ Good morning!!!! #71,537
got my new tax assessment, they did every property in County.
No change, which is stupid, since they are assessing me at least a hundred thousand low.
These are the same people who assessed my 2300 trailer for 5000 and I had to get that fixed, and then they
assessed my one acre of land I bought for 6000 at 10,000, and when I complained they dropped it to 5000. Less than I paid for, which
of course sets current market value, me being a reasonable buyer, etc. They over-assess the little stuff and under-assess the big stuff.
No wonder they don't have enough money.

So should I fill out the provided complaint form and tell them they are too low?..............:confused3:
upon intense consideration for at least five seconds

Yes you should or they will take up your street and replace it with mud.
