53°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 72° today.

Our retaining wall contractor is supposed to start today, however the utility marking company has not been out yet to mark the yard. He called them and they said they had been out days ago. Apparently, they marked the wrong property. Not particularly reassuring.

Went to cruise in last night, guy tried to pick up Ellen while we were sitting together at a picnic table.... It was funny, in a weird way, who does that?

You'd be surprised. Having spent most of my life playing music in bars, I've actually seen that happen quite a bit. Back in the late '80s, I was playing at a little dive in central Illinois. Some guy who followed that band started hitting on my (then) wife, noting that his name was also Paul Smith, so it was OK. When he followed us outside on break and continued his pursuit, he found himself thrown against the side of the building, and we left him there with little birds tweeting around his head. Never saw that guy again.
Another guy about 10 years ago started flirting with my current Wife (then girlfriend) at another place in our hometown. He started with something that sounded like, "You're high!" When she said, "No, I'm not high," he responded with, "No, HOT ... H-O-T-T-T!" When she said her boyfriend thinks so, too, and pointed at me sitting right there, he left her alone the rest of the night.
A singer I know approached her one night at yet another club and said he was going to be flirting with her all night. I was standing right behind her, and leaned over to him (short guy) and said, "No, you're not ... if you're smart." He looked at me for about a second, and moved along.

Those are just the entertaining ones. I've also seen her literally drop guys on the dance floor who got a little handsy or grindy with her. I'd usually just watch from the stage and chuckle, as her years of martial arts training never let her down.

Gonna be an inside day. Glad I made my garbage run yesterday. Both transfer points are closed on Wed.

Word of advice, run the tiller BETWEEN the corn rows..

you'll be pleased to know I did, and after I got the planter adjusted properly it stopped laying the seed on top.
Two more pounds planted, that's it, no more. Then I hoed two huge lines of potatoes and that wore me out. They look good though but I know Don's are much bigger. They have to be, they are from Texas right?

I have a little mowing to do but going to leave the roadsides for tomorrow. Couple of beautiful days coming up, I can spread these jobs out.
And should. Dogwoods and azaleas blooming, very pretty out.

Randy- You are being kind. The world is full of clueless jerks with no social skills. I am glad the situation did not deteriorate further. One never knows what weaponry the "other guy" may be carrying If the guy had tried to hit you that would constitute elder abuse in addition to assault.

Yes, but I can never tell if he just has a bag of rubber snakes and he hides them himself or if they are live

I have spent enough time in TX to be aware of snakes. The only place I saw them was at Dons.

I lived in West Texas for several years, one thing I noticed is that we didn't see many snakes at all in the refineries and booster stations any place that had oil spills we didn't see them,
or in tire piles. Some would come into my shop at first but after a couple of minor diesel leaks/spills they stayed away.
