Congrats Mr and Mrs Bird - a feat not many get to celebrate.

RNG, 55.18 inches Ytd for us. Kauai really got it bad. Some areas still cut off due to roads and bridges out. Lots of local relief stories on the news. What may be worse is the immediate short term economic impact on many families due to loss of income as well as the expenses.

I haven't heard a word about this on the news here. They always seem to like to carry disaster stories, but not a peep about this one. Both disappointed and unsurprised.

Thanks Ron, like Bird learn something new every day here. I signed up and will see how it works for me. So far it says I get no mail today and have not had any mail all week. Not quite accurate, but maybe it means since I signed up. It still does not help Mom because she refused an iPad or smart phone, but maybe if it works good for me she might change her mind. The best is still getting delivery at her front door but I hear it is hard to get approved out here, but I will take Mom to deliver her written request to the post master.

Sometimes I get junk mail scanned. But they seem to get the important mail correct. Bulk advertisement may be in your mailbox. I can wait a day or two to pick that stuff up. It is not scanned.

There's video on Youtube showing a lot of destruction. We all think, hey it just runs into the ocean right? Well, not in the beginning...
Over four feet of water in one day. They think it might have set a national record.

78 degrees and 82 in the upstairs office, on comes the a/c finally. Smelled too, but good smell for once. I had them sanitize the airhandler, basically spraying in some scented disinfectant I suppose, and I was warned it would smell for a few days. Well otherwise it was a funky moldy smell when it first cranked up and I knew that wasn't good.
Mold is everywhere here. Had no desire to create some homemade Legionnaires Disease...
From here to Miami must be the kingdom of powerwashers.

started planting at 8am and didn't stop until almost three. Boy are my knees sore...and I see
a blister in the center of my right hand where the trowel dug in. Actually really good it was a partly cloudy day today, and where the tomatoes
are is in partial shade in the worst heat of the day. Next time I'll trim the big oak trees
back a little more that tower above the garden on one side.

A friend stopped over late in the afternoon to get some lettuce I promised him and he is the one who discovered
my snap peas are not only coming in, we found some big ones almost four inches long. The first six we found went right into
our mouths like vegetable candy, sweet as could be. And no chemicals on them.
Tomorrow I look forward to my first snow pea pick. I've been so busy looking down in the dirt for two days I haven't looked up at the plants.

Had a friend for a few minutes in the barn. He was sitting on the restored Gravely deck. We chatted about the warm weather
and he sashayed off. Zero fear of humans. Cute green ones are on my front porch all the time, am happy to have them.

Don, no flowers on mine. I was out mowing in that area and they are probably about two weeks behind yours.
My Texas Sweets are starting to plump up nicely btw.

Likely because no loss of life, just Property and economical impact.

Happy Anniversary Mrs. & Mr. Bird!

Jay, I expect the snow will be all gone by Labour Day (the end of August)
On a serious note, I have seen snow in mid June, 3.5 hours south of me.

Good afternoon, Got mom's stuff dropped off and then picked up the old mower and brought it home. Got the wife a 40 lb bag of bird seed and talked to a guy about my small chain saw. It is full of gas and runs great until you turn it on it's side and then it cuts off in about 5 sec. Tank was full so it should not be the pickup. Anyone have any ideas?

Randy, praying you feel better soon.

Bird, happy anniversary.

RIP. prayers sent for you and your wife.

Have a great evening. Ed

Congrats, Bird!

Ate at a place in Lewisville a few years ago on the way home from a trip to Ft. Hood, called Fat Cow BBQ. Tasty stuff, and the owner was super nice. I also bought a revolver from a guy in Lewisville later that same year, via a gun forum I no longer frequent. Strange coincidences.

I know where the Fat Cow BBQ is, been by there many, many times, but never ate there.
