One of our friends decided for a closer view today from the Volcano golf course. Across the road from Volcano National Park

Same problem here-- wrong size trimmer line taken with me to the field for the gas string trimmer. Not that I would have gotten the fence done anyway, only about an hour of light left when I ran out of string. Cut down a lot of weed trees for the goats and sheep though-- mostly in the dogwood family.


Goal is to get the undergrowth out, thin a bit, leaving oaks, walnuts, and one large cherry tree with enough light coming through for grass to grow in between them.

64 high of 80 presently raining will do that most of the day with more storms this afternoon. Finished working on job when big storm hit very heavy rain wind hail and lots of lightening too flash flooding but nothing like Buckeyefarmer

Kyle, thanks. I had not had a breakdown in a couple of months. There was just something about seeing wife on those cards. I told Ellen and she said that after two years it still happens to her. We are very happy together and that helps the most.

Good morning all, 65 now going to 74 with a 60-90% chance of showers. Calling for less than 1/10" unless we get thunderstorms. Rain went up on both sides of us yesterday and we got a few drops, only felt one or two. Might get some cutting done on the second tree that I need to take down today, we will see. Been stiff and sore for a few days, maybe I can work it out.

Randy, it get's better but it takes time. I remember what it was like when my 1'st wife died. We had gotten married when we were 18 and she died in a car wreck when we were 22. Her death almost killed me but now it is mostly just the past. Good memories and bad memories, but they are past. Life is good.

We missed the storms which died down before getting here, we got .83 inch of rain. Makes 3.7 inches over the last few days, nothing like BEF got.

because of the age of my Super A, I assumed the next "step up" from straight 30W was straight 40W.
Someone has suggested why not just use 15/40 and i have no idea, unless the engine clearances seem happier with thicker oil
all the time. Not like they had multigrade in 1955 I believe...much less ten years earlier when designed.

Good morning! 68˚ heading to 91˚ mostly sunny south wind.

A bit of excitement in the county yesterday. While getting a haircut in Giddings two DPS patrol cars raced by going about 50 in a 30 mph zone and the later a unmarked car went past me going at least 90. I knew something was going on bigger than a MVA. They were headed to the north side of the county where my wife was playing cards with some of her friends. She reported later that about a mile from where they were, by the auto mechanic's place near Lexington, a police helicopter was circling and they were told an armed felon was in the area that had stolen a truck and trailer in Bryan. They did not find him and called off the search. Excitement kind of fizzled but a lot of people locked their doors last night.
