Wng, I purchased one of the larger "pancake" compressors from HF, and after only a couple years of very light use, the unloader quit working. I didn't spend a lot on it, and will give it to the junk yard, but I wouldn't replace it with the same one. I've had better luck buying HF stuff that got good reviews on their web site, so I have no bias against HF. But they do sell a lot of junk; you just have to research a particular item before the purchase, and if still in doubt, purchase the optional warranty along with it. :2cents:

If you need a small compressor get the Makita Hotdog. It's super quiet, very well built and will last a life time. I've had mine for 11 years and has done many major projects. There were days that the thing was connected to 3 nail guns and was practically running 80% of the time to keep up.

6 pounds is a lot. I had to replace the coil in my attic last year after only 7 years. It had rusted away.

Mine is 15 year old R22 unit. The R22 is over $100 LB. Guy is coming tomorrow to give estimates. Will get a heat pump tied into the gas furnace or an ac unit. Depends on what he says.

Cajun, Hope things go well for your fix as well.

Have a great day. Ed

Good morning to all! Low of 56, going to 85 today. Heavy fog locally. Slight chance of a shower. RNG's cloud also passed us by yesterday also. Showers all around, but none here. The ground dried out already. Temps going up to 90 by Monday, rain chances decreasing to 0. Oh well, sigh

Ed and Cajun, hope you guys can get the A/C's fixed at minimal expense. Cajun, hopefully won't be too uncomfortable for all your guests. Wifey was drooling when you described the flounder dinner...

Buppies, continue to heal expeditiously.

Drew, awesome harvest coming about. Sorry to hear your having difficulty with keeping the critters away from the banquet.

Jay, speaking of natural insecticides, what are your thoughts or info you have about using diluted 'dish soap' in a spray to control insects on veggie plants? Also hydrogen peroxide diluted 1:4, applied during watering, for control of soil insects?

David and Sophie, stay safe and out of harms way. Hope the air conditions don't affect your water system.

Don, nice stonework on the keyhole garden, with the thatch roof, seems like something David should have.

Randy, have fun celebrating your son's birthday and the family get together this weekend.

Prayers out for everyone, have a great day!

Thank you sir, first cookout since I lost my wife in November, and since Ellen dragged me off the scrap heap. Lol

Good Morning everyone!!!

A beautiful breezy mixed cloud/sun low 50コF's Spring sunrise. Still breezy = less Blackflies = outdoor projects today. I need to get blood work tomorrow for my scheduled physical. This should be interesting. Since I started documenting activity (# walks), diet, calories consumed, and bloodsugars I have not taken any of my previously "normal" morning or lunchtime insulin doses and my PM bloodsugars are ranging 86 to 119 with one single 126 (?). It appears (so far) that my insulin tweaking is working, but I do not know why? I ordered a "Fitbit" Sports&Training smart watch to better track what's going on physically. This is getting "dangerous"

Buppies- I hope you continue to heal.

Ed & CjR- This is not the time of year one wants to have A/C problems and it will only get hotter. I hope you both get your A/C systems functional soon.

David- I hope that you and Sophie remain safe, out of harm's way, and your water system is not damaged by the "vog." I have become more reliant on you for what's happening out there than the "News" medias.

Drew- Your garden; all the pictured gardens here would do justice in some home gardeners' magazine. You are all getting great production and I am harvesting chives; and rocks later this week.

Randy- I get tired reading about all your (and Ellen's) activities. I hope that both of you have a great Memorial Day weekend with family and friends.

Ted- I never heard/read about hydrogen peroxide or pest control, but we have been using a diluted solution of "Dr. Bronner's Peppermint 18 in 1 Pure-Castille Soap. It really works. Our bottle is ancient, I do not remember what it costs, but the label on the bottle is worth the price. I have used nicotine and pyrethrin too, but that stuff is pretty nasty. Once I gave myself the BT facial I became leary of spraying anything more toxic. I too inherited invasive weeds, maybe of extraterrestrial origin, from either my neighbor's mulch hay or his cow manure. Next year I plan to "sterilize" the garden with roll plastic. I need to find out whether black or translucent film works best and/or if this "sterilization" of surface weed seeds works before I buy anything that will blow away and hang up in the surrounding trees (for years :embarrassed:)

+ thoughts & prayers for all.

Good afternoon. I can't work out this May weather, sunny yet again with just enough of a light breeze to keep away any flies. Kyle told me we should get one good day in ten, so I fear our ration of good days for the whole year must soon all be used up.

Last night flounder stuffed with crawfish was delicious :)

I'm envious. Last night I was treated to a meal in a quite expensive Thai restaurant. Sweet pickled vegetables were served up as a very tasty starter and the meal ended on a good note with steamed banana wrapped in sticky rice. Alas the fish dishes served in between these two were too highly spiced for me and daubed in sauces that had me awake in the middle of the night longing for breakfast time and a piece of plain toast.

Wng, when you get your air impact wrench, consider treating yourself to a simple blowgun and a tire inflator too. A flexible hose that doesn't kink is nicer to drag around than the really cheap stiff stuff. I have quick release sockets on my hose, with corresponding plugs on air tools which saves having to use a wrench each time.

Off to Konaside. Wife wants to check out KMart one last time before they close, maybe something on sale. Costco run while there.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

You’re getting ripped off at $100/#, for R22, Ed.

Billy, if you have a Tractor Supply nearby, try there for an air compressor, they may have some on sale for the Holiday.
I think a longer warranty would be a good selling point. First, you need to know how much cfm you need. I wouldn't get less than 5 cfm at 90psi.
Some air tools take twice that amount.

Ingersoll Rand and Quincy are best, Makita as said makes everything good..., Porter Cable good handyman quality
