Drew, since you posted about rs getting spewed at, I thought I'd take the time to show you what he said to me. To all: I did not post what Drew posted earlier. In fact, I haven't even seen it yet...

He knows I have a 10 year old daughter with disabilities and that she has to ride the short bus.

This is how he replied after I told him he needs professional help.

The man has given up on any type of civility IMO. There is one or two others that still aim short bus jokes at me. And they all happen to be on one side of the line.

But hey, it's the internet. You get all types. And a few show their broadsides.

Just thought I'd let you know, "The rest of the story".

So I don't necessarily miss him.

Friendly Politics was a mistake from day1...
Seems like some guys just go totally insane when they enter that forum...and, admittedly, sometimes I suffer temporary insanity too. The other problem is some guys can't leave it behind when they post in other (non-political) forums

Good morning all. A dry sunny day here, with temperatures on the cool side for the time of year.

Some days go better than others. I wanted to open up a few holes to 22mm in some steel blocks using a "blacksmith" drill bit (reduced diameter shank) in my modest sized pillar drill. I was going slow with plenty of cutting oil, but still aware it was pushing it outside it's comfort zone. The last one did grab a bit going through, though it was all bolted down and nothing went spinning. Thought I'd got away with this tool abuse and under my old scheme I wouldn't have known differently as I tended to leave the last used drill in place until the next time :ashamed: Now I'm trying to follow Ron's advice and put everything away when I've "finished". So instead of potentially days of blissful unawareness, I found out immediately that the chuck is seized up tight. Unfortunately it is not an ordinary chuck, it has a tool-less quick release locking ring that is refusing to move. Got it upside down, dribbled in a little penetrating oil and left it to soak. Time now to go at it and get the disappointment out of the way early :)

PJ, 2-1/2 hours to work ! Hope you have a better ride in this morning.

CWB, thanks for the pictures, that looks a substantial sheep wagon.

Yes October which will be our change up month I think Don. Once the ElNino gets started although weak it will be the storm track near you with plenty of rain and storms but that’s a ways off. By mid September the east will cool off with normal precipitation and you folks should follow. I also think the tropics will bring Texas something

74 going to 94, forecast is drying out, very little rain for next week.

up at midnight in hot tub getting rid of leg cramps from too much on my feet yesterday. Thankfully ten minutes in the hot water and I was
all better, albeit smelling slightly of bromine. I put in a new bromine cartridge due to guests coming, and changed the water, felt pretty nice last night. Clear night, lots of stars, I'm far away from any city lights.

some final foodshopping this morning, then some brownies to bake, and will try to cut some roses for the guest room. Guests arriving late afternoon so mostly an inside day for me. And then three days of no farm work, that will be a nice rest actually.

Going to put my friend to work on a few projects inside, like changing out a ceiling fan and an overhead light fixture. Then build some 20 inch high speakers stands I got for some small Klipsch bookshelf speakers that had been sitting (bad me) on the floor in the living room, which of course tubbies up the sound. I think it will be too hot for both of us to do outside projects, plus after yesterday I'm kind of projected out. I wore out both of those Hispanic helpers, not easy to do, hard workers.

actually if I get caught up I might powerwash some equipment today, in the shade. Always seem to stay cool spraying water around, though it does mean drying the equipment and regreasing afterwards. Messicks has a funny video of why to be careful with a pressure washer on tractors.
Yup, stay away from all wiring harnesses, alternators, etc. In fact, in the engine, I try to just use a garden hose carefully and not high pressure.
one interesting thing they said is don't wash your engine/radiator, and then go out and use it. Dust gets into water on radiator, creates mud and hardens, really messing up heat transfer. I never air dried my radiators, never thought of that, but then I put the equipment away when done, not head back out.

May you all be happy and content today.

Good morning all, 73 heading to 85 with a 20-60%chance of rain. Got the grass mowed yesterday and had a close encounter of the fuzzy kind. I stopped the mower to talk to my wife and saw a little yellow fuzzy caterpillar on my arm. Flicked it odd and it just slightly stung me in one tiny spot and went away quickly. I have been sting by them before and the sting is the size of the caterpillar and lasted long while. So beware of little yellow caterpillars.

Hope and pray that you all have a great day, prayers on the way for those in need. Ed
