Good morning!!!!

feel fortunate to sit here with hot cup of coffee, showered and shaved, ready to see what the world looks like when the sun comes up.
Gen still roaring, probably about four inches of rain so far, thankfully there are a few lulls in between downpours, and as I expected this amount of rain so far is getting absorbed. What continues to come will not be.

Internet/cable down, went out almost immediately, my ancient little Verizon Mifi carrying on just fine.
Having problem with surge current on one a/c unit, keeps cutting out my pc upstairs apparently when the voltage drops, some protective device in the UPS whose battery is MIA. Laptop does fine though.

no rain at the moment, sounds strangely quiet. And then that low train like rumbling sound where the wind reminds you lots going on out there.
Phil glad you were far away from that explosion, sounds awful, prayers for those affected and hurt.

Good morning all. 69 going to 75 with a 50-80% chance of showers. Got the fence fixed yesterday and pumped the pool down a bit and when i tried to turn the valve to filter the gasket failed. Went to the pool place and got the wrong gasket and will go back and get the right one today. Try to get it in between showers.

No dipstick cars. I have been told that when Cat sells a new dozer they make 25% of the expected profit. Parts and labor make up 75% of expected profit. Sounds like the car industry is learning that as well. More things to go wrong.

Drew, you are not alone, all of our prayers are sending you help, prayer sent.

Prayers for those effected by the gas explosion.

Have a great day, prayers sent to all in need. Ed

Drew, glad to hear you are fine. We are getting a few light sprinkles from outer band, but as weak as it is now we will not see much. My brother in Elizabeth City got lucky as well.

75 going to 79 with showers and moderate NE winds.
Looks like my day trip to Front Royal tomorrow for the 4 year old grandson’s birthday is on.

Continued safety folks, God bless.

Poured first cup of coffee. 64° with fog this morning. Heading to 81° with afternoon sun. Got windows cleaned. Today is lawn cutting day. Nothing else planned.

Mphm, saw that story last night. Hope they get the problem under control and everyone is safe. Prayers sent.

Drew and others in the way of Flo stay safe. Prayers for your safety.

Thomas, my tractor is 16 years old. I have never had it back to dealer for maintenance. I like your idea of having dealer come out and do it. Tractor is right at 500 hours. I have all the fluids and filters to get it done. Need to do a antifreeze change also. My arm says do not do it. Closet dealer is about 20 miles away. Need to call and see if they do field service.

Good Morning All.

Pretty good flooding all around you Drew be safe please

you bet, like in New Bern, next big town South of here, has 10 feet of water coming into the town; have to wonder
if much of the same isn't about to come up the Pamlico River shortly and flood all the downtown streets in Washington.
I'm sure the EMS there is doing water rescues. What really creeps me out is seeing couples out walking around in flooded streets.
Man is that a good way to get electrocuted if some wire happens to fall nearby. Really really bad idea unless you have no choice.
And the picture takers frankly looked a little clueless. Near a marina, probably sailboaters. :D heh heh heh **
actually a really bad time for anyone with a boat. Easily damaged in the marina and even up on the "hard". People do dumb things with stands
and if the boat next to you falls over likely your boat will be damaged.

I emailed my insurance agent, who because I used to be one, and a company underwriter, get along wonderfully telling him
good luck as he was about to be the most popular man in town. I'm sure he's written a ton of flood insurance, have to have it on a
Fed backed loan. And much of the town is in 100 year flood zone, which we now know isn't something you can depend upon.
With global warming comes more severe weather and more serious floods. Folks near the water better take a tour of Holland
and see how it's done...

** Ford vs Chevy, Red vs Blue, Stinkpotters vs Ragbaggers, there are just some natural opposites in life
that you just have to keep your sense of humor with. Did you know that all sailboaters are so cheap they steal all the toilet
paper out of the marina bathrooms? Did you know that all powerboaters have giant guts loaded with gold chains and guzzle beer?
Ah, always room for some friendly joshing.

a little boat story:
In 1972 I was invited out by a college fraternity mate, on a 90 foot sloop night cruise owned by the original owner of Hilton Head resort. Drove all the way down there from PA and right after dinner went out on this beautiful polished wood trim boat, which just gleamed in the moonlight. And there was a full moon out, of course. Almost intoxicating by itself. In addition to the wine.

I'm exhausted, but the boat was big enough it had real seats, which most smaller sailboats don't. They have perches, often with thinly
padded foam. Not much better than a Quaker bench...;) But this yacht I was on was simply marvelous, sluicing through the water under sail with just the splash of the water to hear and the creaking of lines when a gust of wind gave you a shove forward. Now that was boating...
So I think sailboats are great, when the fan is finally clogged for good, we will all be back to sailing anyway...
Solar powered boats will be the hot ticket; albeit a slow ride.
Look how so many of you have really great electrical yard tools now.
they already have solar boats, just have to get the cost down.
Which means they will come from you know where..

time to put a rain slicker on and go for a walk.
