RNG....congrats on the addition to the driveway! Now you can fix things the right way:D

As the 442 goes, those later models were indeed just lookers. My first car that I owned was one of the real 442's. It was a '69. Had a 455 ci 'rocket' engine, Hurst shifter, and more power than could ever be used on the street. My dad always wondered why I had to buy rear tires just about every year. I"ll bet there's still rubber compound engrained in the streets of Bucks county Pa. Ended up throwing a rod at about 4000rpm and 90 mph....toasted that motor. Sold it for what I paid for it. Those were definitely the days. Next car was a '76 Monte Carlo with the 350....definately a dog...nice looker, but barely could get above the speed limit. After that got into Jeeps. Haven't been without a jeep since '79.

I drove a beat up Buick Electra with a 455 back in 79.

Good evening all. 57F for the start, partly cloudy, calm wind. Today was a light wind day, sky cleared to a few stray clouds and high temp was 78F. left for bike ride when the temp hit 60F, got the unlock code for the wife's phone now to get unlock code for my phone  (ATT down again today). after nap decide to take boat , it seamed a shame not to use such a pretty day! 6 more hours to finish break in. Used the truck for the first time, went well for most part but mirror not as tall and I missed the extra height backing into the water. I am getting better about how deep to put the trailer during solo recovery .
RNG love that pic, and color! :cool2::drink:
Drew, I could not watch those Hearings, it about whether the R or D wins not what is best for country, and that is sad:confused2: Hope get some weather that will let you finish the drivewat without being a sweat fest.
prayers for all.

My rain guage is still empty. Because it is in my office, and not outside where it is still pouring.

Stock, I would agree, but I don’t do stock.

62 today. Currently 53. Unexpected rain all day.

Did manage to get the broken feedline winch changed out today. Takes 2 of us about 1 1/2 hours to do that job. Then setup a Kreg pocket screw jig. Then made cut list for wife a new classroom book case. Boys to horse riding. Oldest is wound up trying to settle him down. Took another nap at school. Fell asleep in his chair and was sliding out. So they laid him down. Slept too long isn’t tired. Will make for a rough day tomorrow.

Ed. Thanks for the offer. But I think I’ll try to plug it with a wood plug. Have a router that’s a couple of years old and hardly any use on it. Think I’m going to try to make it a router project.

Rng good to see van home. Now just work out the kinks.

Buppies. Best of luck with gun search.

Good morning all, 55 going to 75 with a 30% chance of am showers then sunny. Need to run to the grocery store today and get a few things. Also need to drain some more water out of the pool as it is way above the skimmer. Then????

Helped a buddy of mine build a 455 and stuff it in a Regal. Had nitrous and was very quick. We ran it at East Side in Waynesboro and did pretty well. Then he got into street racing and we parted company.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

Good morning all. Looking out to the west, if it wasn't for a couple of high up planes catching the rising sun and a moon that is still keen to share it's borrowed daylight, the sky would be nothing but pure blue this morning.

I won't be doing much sky gazing for the rest of the day, I'm back to staring at bricks, wondering how long my pointing will last compared to the old mortar that has done it's job for 200+ years. Hopefully I won't be the one to discover the answer.

22 Hornet is still popular here with many Bups. I don't really need one as anything that has to be sorted out with a 22 cal bullet from of a centre fire case is covered by my 222. I still hope to get a 17 Hornet before too long. Is it too early to send a letter to Santa ? :)

58 going to 77. Had hard rain earlier this morning.

Roasted 3 coffees yesterday. Looking forward to trying each.

Buppies, I began watching an old Western yesterday..."Winchester '73" starring Jimmy Stewart.

Good morning! 59˚ heading to 84˚ clear skies. We did a 6 mile walk about on the neighborhood trails that wind around the creeks yesterday, perfect weather and we didn't see anyone else on the trails. Lots of people were playing golf but no stray golf balls in the yard. I need to get some painting done where I removed bird nest and today looks like a perfect day.

Walked by the neighborhood EZGO golf cart store yesterday. They were advertising the new lithium battery carts. No battery maintenance, last ten times longer and weigh 300 pounds less.
Lithium batteries

car packed, rain has moved out, time to go. But being patient and waiting for some part of dawn to appear.
Dodging deer at night isn't relaxing and I'm in no rush.
Headed for Warrington, Bucks Co. PA. (just down from the old Holberts VW Porsche LS, aka the long hill where you get tickets at the bottom....)
going to the memorial of one MIL and having lunch with the other.
Switching to long pants and jacket.

We haven’t had any of the rain you guys have been talking about the last few days, predicted but didn’t happen. Got up to 71 and humid again this morning, not exactly cool fall weather.
I need to mow but I noticed that my grass is showing signs of going dormant.
Have a good day, prayers.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 47° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 68° with late afternoon rain. Lawn got cut yesterday. Got countertop sanded and first coat of conditioner on. Another coating today. Hope to get fields cut today after some of the dew has dried up.

Drew, safe travels.

Don, did you get a quote on that golf cart rigged out for a non golfer? :D

RNG, does this mean that motorcycles get less attention until Vanagon is done?

Good Morning All.

What does grass look like when it is going dormant? Mine still looks like spring grass. With cooler daytime temperatures in the 60 and 70's maybe it will start to go dormant.

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 4:00AM. Partly cloudy. High 86F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

No, I'm not up early, I'm up late. Found a copy of the Kavanaugh hearing transcripts, and have been reading. I won't comment on the content, other than to say I think it is time well spent.

Hope you have a safe trip, Drew, and that the weather cooperates this time.

Thanks for all the well wishes on the van, folks. Now's the time when all those little details will get ironed out, and by my hands, to my satisfaction. It felt good being able to make that bracket yesterday and fix the muffler problem, rather than having to brow beat someone that was being paid to do it right the first time. I was also able to figure out why the horn wasn't working: A wiring mistake I made while working at that shop. But the bigger mistake was in trying to get anything done in that dark cave of a place with a constant stream of interruptions, loud music, and lacking the proper tools. Very seriously considering not taking the van back there, and just finishing the work, and potential repairs, myself.

TGIF gang!:drink:
