Good morning!!!!

Good evening to all! Nice day today, partly cloudy, high of 78. Clouds got heavier this afternoon, but no rain. 60% chance of showers tomorrow.

HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY TO DAVID AND SOPHIE! Years ago, I told the wifey that we would celebrate our 35th in Hawaii.....well, the 35th just came and went last month on the 19th. We're getting closer to Hawaii...moved from Drew's old stomping grounds back east out west to NM. (I guess about 1/2 way to Hawaii) ....maybe by our 50th we'll get there:D

Drew, glad you had a wonderful trip and you were able to spend time with Friends. Now back to the grind....I hear part of that driveway complaining  Oh, and the grass has grown a few inches by now:eek:

Finished up on the small painting project this weekend, well actually it was staining/sealing a small deck. I didn't take any pics, but will tomorrow.

Today I was supposed to have an MRI done on the knee. Wasted time this morning around the house waiting for the time to go. Drove an hour to get there, another 15 minutes trying to find a parking space. Made it to the appointment right on time. Only problem was they didn't have me scheduled. Apparently, someone made a mistake when they entered the patient number, resulting in the other patient being scheduled. The supervisor came and I showed her the 2 text messages I received for the "scheduled MRI". Apparently there is not even a order written from the doc for me to have an MRI. Total waste of time. The office was supposed to call me later today....of course they didn't.

Well, tomorrow is another day. Think I'm going to call it a tractor day and take off the PHD and put on the box blade. Check all the fluids and do a little maintanance. Need to change the oil in the car too. I will make a bet that because I want to do this stuff it will rain all day....

Everyone have a great evening, prayers sent out.

Nice pics Wngsprd and Drew.

LS, sorry about your wasted time....about as bad as calling ATT....

Got some stuff done at work today. It came a downpour measured at 2.5" per hour rate, but it only rained about an hour. The parking lot started to flood. The first time in ten years, but since they redid the whole area's leveling, parking, and landscaping, it looks like they failed at something miserably.

Our company is owned by a parent company. The parent company used to own the land and building. They sold it to some investors, but retained some shares of the deal. The new owners have done some things nice, some not so nice. they are really slow on repairing things that a landlord should repair.

49 right now...looks like more rain today and tonight. High today in the low 50's.

I head to Indianapolis early tomorrow (flight leaves Manchester NH at 0655) and then to Muncie. I'm going there to help them with an audit....probably be no posts tomorrow or the next day or so.

63 headed to 83. Should be another nice day.

Safe travels, Roy.

A visit back to hometown is good for the soul, yes?

Definitely looking more like Autumn...stink bugs are crawling on the side of the house trying to find a good place to over-winter...blue jays have come back to the feeders and are fussing...5 kestrels were lined up on the power line and then on the cherry tree...grasses sending up more seed stalks than leaf blades.

Got some lopping and pole sawing done yesterday. Making a list now for today.

good morning all. Woke up with stiff neck, no surprise from drive.
But I'll work it off today out in the sun squeegeeing driveway sealer.
Now let's see what set of clothes I can wreck today.

Happy Anniversary and congrats to you too Ted. One thing I seemed to have not been very good at. Staying married...though
no choice the last time. If at first you don't succeed...

Just got an email from my first wife saying she really liked what I spoke about her Mom at the memorial service.
Phew. I was pretty zoned and had no idea what I sounded like or how it came across.
Job done.

And as I put a tupperware container full of home made oatmeal raisin cookies away in my freezer from my current MIL,
I hope it will still be many years before I go to her memorial. Though at 92 you never know.

While I was at Meeting I met the elderly son of a 104 year old lady member who had just passed away.
She would come in each Sunday morning in her walker through our handicap door, and sit on a bench near the front.
At 102 she slumped over and fell to the floor, right in front of my friend Dr X who promptly started doing heart compressions, got her going again, and the ambulance took her off. We say the Light was with her as she came back fine, month later back to Meeting each Sunday. Her time was at 104, not 102.

may we have most of our marbles and all hit 100.

Good morning all, 61 going to 80 with a 20-30% chance of showers / T-storms. Got a little done yesterday. Put a 12" handle on a little hoe for my wife. Drilled the handle with the lathe and it worked well.

Drew, There was an old woman in a near by town that at 102 her kids took her rotor tiller away from her. They came home and the garden was worked up and asked, Granny, who worked up the garden? Her reply was I did. But granny, we locked up the tiller. She answered, You did not lock up the grubbing hoe! At 102 she had worked up a large garden, about 25 x 60 with a heavy hoe! She also died at 104.

LS, sorry about the wasted time at the Dr.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

The days of what once seemed an almost endless summer are without a doubt now over. Damp ground, yellowing leaves and cooler wind are making it feel like autumn here too this morning.

Roasted a few of the chestnuts last night. That distinctive pleasant flavor is something I've not experienced for quite a number of years. Also was fun to watch a few of the dried outer casings that I put on the woodburner. I thought they would burn up in a flash, however the numerous spikes glowed white hot for quite some time.

Fascinating field stone incinerator and story Drew, I've never seen anything like that before. With the fire out, that is indeed now a cool building ;)
