Good morning!!!!

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 8:45AM. Sunny. High 81F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Good luck with the nest emptying exercise, PJ. All of the defensive driving schools I've attended emphasize staying with the flow of traffic to avoid being rear ended, and that's especially important on a motorcycle. I don't really enjoy group rides, or even trips with other people because of the testosterone factor causing others to ride at a pace that they are not safe at. Spent too much time cleaning up the resulting messes. And as I age, I've slowed down a LOT, though I never did have much luck keeping up with the racer boys.

Got the driving lights working yesterday, then pulled all the new wiring out from under the frame to wrap it with nylon cloth loom tape that came in the mail yesterday. Yep, Amazon Prime delivers on Sunday! Should finish that today, but the power is supposed to go off from 9AM to 1PM, so I might find something outside to do instead.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Back inside early today. 35 gallon Diesel storage cart full to the top. Put snow blade on tractor. That should help keep snow away from here for a few weeks. Couple more warm days. Then we should have our first frost of the fall by Friday.
Those in path of latest Hurricane be safe.

Never much a sports guy growing up, more lack of ability vs interest thing i guess. Minimal time little league player and 3 years football. Being the basketball manager got me involved and my senior year HS ran cross country alway placing last or next to last scoring for team. I dont remember my parents ever attending a game. Pretty much a Boston guy growing, Celtics, Bruins, & Red Sox, but dont follow any now a days. Dont remember last time i watched on TV but did go to a few live games in Atlanta. I do watch football and usually favor the Patriots but have been known to cheer the local team when I ‘ve lived in various locales. Doesnt ruin my day if i miss a game, nor has my life seen great benefit by watching.

Good evening all. 74F for the start, Partly cloudy, calm wind. Sky clouded up quickly, Wind was gusty all day, rain showers late afternoon and early evening, and high temp of 84F. Choir practice to start the day, followed by mow and short nap, and finished with a bike ride today.
I foloow the baseball St Louis Cardinals since the El Birdo days of Orlando Cepada, Lou Brock, Bob Gibson et all. Football Cardinals since early 60's Jim Hart, Dan Dierdorf, Conrad Dobler. Also follow Mizzou football.
PJ very nice deck:cool:
Drew, a dirty mop may work better for the ones who need to be gone right away :D
Prayers for all

Don, get his n her roller blades and teach whipper to pull you. Sled dog commands Gee and Haw.

Eric, our big welding table has a dark brown patina that I would liken to wngsprd's strong coffee. :) I leave it that way. What type of oaks do you have over there? I heard a story once, not sure about how factual it was but it was something like this...One of the most coveted things from America in our early years were the ancient tall, stout oak trees that grew in the state of Georgia...The British were willing to fight to keep a supply of them to make masts for their warships...Just think if they'd have found the giant sequoias how big their ships would have been....As tall as Big Ben?

The wifey/tractor ride was nice, but a bit bumpy. I'm glad she weighs the same as the day I married her. Maybe it's a good thing I don't have a "buddy" seat.

I love most sports, but don't get the time to watch. It wasn't until late in the last quarter that I realized Dallas was playing the Texans.

Texas A&M Aggies. Also a U of H Cougar fan.

Dallas Cowboys

Houston Astros (woohoo!) (playing either sox or yankmees next) :)
2 things about baseball get my dander up. Subjective strike calling by umps, and the yankees' ability to buy themselves pennants because of unlimited resources.....Oh 3 things, crappy managers that make their pitchers throw at the batters.

Spurs and Rockets (talk about a house divided).

I prefer motorcycle racing to car racing. Easier to pass for more action. Road racing, American flat track, motocross, supercross & Speedway!

Ron, do you treat your diesel?

PJ, hope for the best for your empty nest dreams. Tell him the rent is due whether he stays and pays there or at your house.

Good morning. We look to be in for a few more days of dry weather, the wind swinging around to the south and coming up all the way from Africa. Expected to peak tomorrow at 23C/73F. Only downside is the weeds must have seen the forecast too, nettles in particular are growing like crazy and will be setting seed by the end of the week if I don't do something.

Kyle, we have two kinds of oak, English oak (Quercus robur) and sessile oak (Quercus petraea), which looks very similar but tends to grow slightly straighter. I think I'm the only person around here who still uses oak for agricultural fencing, it's too labour intensive for most people. By choice I would only use oak and sweat chestnut, but supplies are very limited, so have had to resort to treated softwood too. I like oak because it is so tough and durable, even when half buried in soil. Yesterday I was cutting some up for firewood, but kept putting pieces to one side as too good to burn. The pieces I saved are not tall enough for fence posts but still have uses, such as supports for the treads on footpath stiles. I confess - I'm an oak hoarder :)

Audit started off very well...hope it continues that way

good morning all.
A warm and probably sticky and buggy 75 going up to mid 80's today.
Front fencing got powerwashed yesterday, they are doing my house today.
Next door fireman neighbor, house looks much brighter and nicer when he is done.
And while they are doing that, I'll be mowing. Lot of rain coming in and want to get caught up before it gets here
later this week. Going to try out new blades on Kubota mower. Hope they help or I sure bought the wrong mower.

Speaking of oaks, driveway is a mess from acorns all over, squirrels having a serious party with them. Lot of acorns this year.
Hurricane blew some really big acorns into the garden, very pretty to look at with bright green bottoms.

Good morning all! 63 and going to a high of 70 with 40% chance of T-storms. Right now it is a little damp out, but that may change later in the day, I hope.

I haven't been home 6 full days yet and already I have a nasty cold.:sneeze:
At least this year I cant be blamed for bringing it with me.

Have a safe day all

/ Good morning!!!! #82,814
Good morning all, 68 going to 81 with am fog and then a 20% chance of T-storms. Need to get the gass fireplace going so it is ready for winter. guess that will be one of my jobs today. I have watched about 6 tv shows in the last 2 1/2 years we have been here. Have basic cable in a package with land line and internet. Last time I watched part of a sporting event was about 17 18 years ago. Watched sports as a teen but never dedicated to one teem for long. Did like Bill Elliot for a while when friends were into watching. Saw a friend knock his grill over in the infield of one race and set the grass on fire and they had to stop the race and bring out the fire trucks.

Looking, praying for you about your cold.

PJ, prayers that you moving works well.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

67 high of 76 one to three inches of rain starting tomorrow from the hurricane then much cooler weather on the way

Football was always my favorite sport growing up I was fortunate enough to have a NFL pro that lived across the street. As a 7 year old I got to meet John Unitas Raymond Berry Tom Mattie and numerous others. The neighbor was the starting guard. Football has changed a lot since then and not for the better.
Those guys said they would have played for free because they enjoyed the game that much

Prayers for all

Good morning! 73˚ heading to 80˚ thunderstorms predicted this afternoon.
Yesterday a breaker tripped in the kitchen and refused to be reset. Four kitchen electrical outlets are not working. One or two outlets have been tripping the breaker occasionally the last few weeks. Is there a short and where, or is the breaker bad? The breaker is the type that has a GFCI test button on it instead of on the outlet. Time to call the home warranty people.

So some of you like oak trees. Well, there are many varieties of oak, and some are quite good. HOWEVER, we have a live oak in the front yard; provides shade from the sun in the morning. BUT, I've sure been tempted to have it removed. It produces huge quantities of tiny acorns. I've been blowing them off the driveway every day for the past week or 10 days. I think it would be great in a pasture; provide shade for livestock year round. But it's a horrible tree to have too close to the house, especially if the house has rain gutters. We did have one in the back yard, also; kept me busy cleaning out the rain gutter until I got rid of that tree.

72 degrees this morning, going for a high of 80 with a 90% chance of rain. Very unusual weather for us lately. We've had some very brief showers; sometimes once a day, sometimes 3 times a day. But I did get the yard mowed yesterday before our shower that put .02" of rain in the gauge.
