Rain finally started here, downpour as expected, but I think most of this has missed me.
I didn't put the grapple back on so I'm hoping Mother Nature will be kind.

have been watching the edges of this storm, clicking on the little flags on wunderground.
Thankfully on the inside of the storm it looks like mostly a rain event.
I don't trust Accuwrong but other stations locally report 20-30mph winds here.
Dodged another one...if there's a third, I'm toast.

Buppies, sounds rough over your way. We're getting hammered with wind and rain now...lost power for about an hour...our coop has really stepped up...sent an email this morning before the storm hit saying they were on top of things...then sent me a text immediately after power went out this afternoon saying they knew and were dispatching a crew...and then later texted with an ETA for power restoral, then beat their estimate by 20 minutes and sent another text to make sure we knew it and to close out the ticket.

Good evening, a little while ago after it is supposed to be mostly dark the sky lit up with a yellow glow. The east windows had the drapes closed and it looked like there was a light shining on them. Have never seen that before. Lasted about 10 min and was gone. Weather station says we have had 2 " of rain but I would saw 3 looking at the pool.

Ron, be easy and heal well, prayers sent for you both.

There's a gray fox around here that thinks it owns the place. I hear it barking often, and many times have walked up very close to it as it watched me. Fun to watch, but I could do without the fox surprises on the front door mat...

Found and fixed a loose pin in one of the old connectors on the old motorcycle yesterday, then mounted the front fender. Managed to strip the threads in one of the mounting holes, and had to get out the right angle drill to install the Helicoil in it. That's when I found termite mud tubes in the back of the cabinet where the drill is stored. I'll need to take a slow walk around that side of the house to see if I can find where they're coming in, and probably call a termite company to deal with them.

Made a bracket for the tachometer and installed it, and will drop by my buddie's shop tomorrow to see if he has the proper connector for it. Otherwise I have some Weatherhead waterproof connectors that will probably work even better, but I'd like to stay with BMW factory stuff if I can.

The driver with the Vanagon bumpers is supposed to call an hour before he gets here this afternoon, but with how poorly this company has performed so far, I won't be sitting around waiting for the call and won't be surprised if it never comes at all.

Not mine to fire, unfortunately, or that would have happened long ago. I'm just the Quality Manager. Production Supervisors and Machine Operators work under someone else.

Keep rejecting their work if not to print. I've had to show them what I expect. I remember my first simple task as a trainee. The QC man rejected it for burrs. I had a lot to learn.

Not here in Texas. You can be fired here for no reason with our laws. For some idiosyncrasy, they call the law "Right to work" laws. Anything but.

I posted what I was seeing to a Yahoo group, and that evening a fella that modifies Subaru engine harnesses to mate up with the Vanagon responded with the speedo answer. Another posted a link on theSamba.com, another very good web resource, that went into even more depth, and that let me know about the Canadian speed sensor company. Meanwhile, the mechanic hasn't done anything because I can't read an OBD code to pass along to him so he can verify that's what's wrong. :banghead: So now I'm looking at the OBD code readers that plug into the car and wirelessly transmit the information to an iPhone app. Looks like I'm being dragged kicking and screaming into the automotive digital age.:thumbdown:

Those OBD sensor readers are awesome. I want one bluetooth. Mine is connected by cable. You can set up to record, to watch O2 readings and such. I had to buy one so that I could get a cat converter warrantied. I knew the guy would try and pass it off on my O2 sensors, so I went up there armed with my laptop connected, ready to show him, and he knew that I knew what the gig was. It only cost me about $50 to buy the stuff to prove him wrong, but it was worth it. Been using it ever since.

Good evening all. 52F for the start, temps dropped to 51F before climbing, calm wind, partly cloudy sky. Wind was moderate from northeast, sky cleared off, and temps made it to 67F. Played in the Old Man Open (Golf) this morning, not much else happened today but a nap. Need to ride bike and go to town tomorrow, will have to work around the rain forecast for tomorrow. 6 days in the 10 day forecast have rain :confused2:

Another day that didn’t go quite as planned. Spent way longer in town than anticipated.
But the good news, when we did return home we both had our senior flu shots, pneunonia shots, and dtap boosters. All covered by our insurance, but at about $700 I’m sure someone is happy.

The questions about the audit.... I was there to respond to questions about the quality systems. The staff at the sister plant would handle any technical questions and findings. Both findings were technical in nature and the staff there will have to respond. I'll help them with the responses, of course, but I'm not technically compentent when it comes to their processes (heat treating).

Hard to believe someone as tech savvy as you hasn't already got an OBD reader. We know you like a challenge, so guess you are worried it could make fault finding far too easy

Anyone plugged an OBD reader into their tractor yet ? I remember my Iseki manual showing me where the cover was, though I haven't yet felt the urge to search it out.

good morning all. A much cooler 62 going up to mid 70's today, and down to 49 tonight. The first of the cooler weather here.

storm is now over NYC, only dropped about an inch of rain here, will know how much mess when the sun comes up. Power went on and off, on and off for awhile last night, likely due to wind.

garden club meeting this morning, taking three orchid plants with me that I've never gotten to bloom, hopefully one of the ladies there will take them home for better care than I can give. Never had luck with orchids.

Good morning,
temp 35 going to a high of 43F. Wind W 15 gusting to 21 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

Somehow the tires that were ordered got to the garage as 255/65R19s. They were supposed to be 225/55R19s. The bigger ones will fit the rims, but not the vehicle. The garage didn't notice the difference until they had my rims stripped.
After sitting there for about an hour, the guy that I was dealing with came over to me and asked if I carried a gun (no) or a knife (no), then proceeded to tell me what happened.
My response was, I just drove 100 miles to get here. (They all know where I live.) I took me all of 5 minutes and my time is my own until next May.
They say they will make it right with me. I say there is nothing to make. They treat me pretty good there so I don't have any complaints, certainly not over a little screw up like that.
I could've got the right ones on today, but I am otherwise occupied. Monday at 3:30 for the new tires.

I gotta go to the bank today and get the money out for the portable shelter erection.

A little hoe work this morning and put some more summer stuff away.
