My least favorite day of the year...end of daylight savings time. I'll get used to the new hour about the time it disappears in the spring.

David, I filled in a few holes/gullies this summer with leftover clay/dirt I dug from the French drains, and some sand dug from the creek. I've bush hogged it once since and it was so much better...but mine wasn't as extensive as yours. At least if you have to mow slowly, you have beautiful views.

Finished last night at 7:40PM drove back towards home took one employee to get his truck oops gate locked no one knows the combination get in through another gate by taking it apart got home at 10:00PM. Job is a big one repairs to highway that washed out over 2000 tons so far last week

houseguests are fast asleep, I'm already showered and ready to go and, and....geez, it's only 5am. I'm with you Billy, I hate losing this hour.

I used two store bought green peppers in the sauce, and the very last relatively small green pepper I grew. No hot peppers though, sending the last bag of them home with my friend who will make some amazing salsa out of it. Plus he has a cast iron stomach, I don't.

43 going to 68 today, rain tonight and tomorrow. Last time my friend was here we pulled all the tractors out and took a picture of him on each one, all for the grandchildren. Several of whom are driving around battery operated John Deere tractors.

Have a list of nice little projects to do today, and we might go downtown if a new art exhibit is open this afternoon.
Otherwise I bought ribs at Boss Hog yesterday, and collards and hushpuppies, for dinner so nothing to prepare. Collards don't have much in them, need to jazz them up somehow. And not by adding more pork... Going to make Cuban sandwiches for lunch, basically a panini style grilled sandwich whose only claim to fame seems to be the sliced dill pickles in it, which I love.
My friends have been on the road for five weeks and said they really appreciated eating simple home cooked food. Tomorrow they head home to Delaware; their Honda Ridgeline has been averaging about 27mpg cross country.

Would certainly appreciate a little more sleep to recover from grandchildren visit yesterday, the youngest is hard work at the moment as he is always on the go. Just before his first birthday he found that he could stand up and walk under our kitchen table, with one hand on the chairs for support. Yesterday he kept discovering that a) things change - he's grown taller than the table and b) oak is a hard wood. Ouch.

We drove up around Lake Murray State Park yesterday with our granddaughter. It was the first time I've seen water going over the spillway since I was about her age (14).

Drinking first cup of coffee. 33° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 52° with cloudy skies. Cleaning of fire tub is on top of list. Then watch some NASCAR in afternoon.

33 early, ice on vehicles, 52 now. Picked up groceries at Walmart, love that service! They do the shopping and load it in your vehicle, all substituting is cleared with you ahead of time, you can see it all online, if they don’t have large they give give you two or more smalls at same price, today we got 2, 22lb cat foods to replace 1, 30 lB bag, at the same price.
