Forgot to put vehicles in garage, so cleaned them off. 30° and light flurries. Measured 4" snow in driveway.

Moved Ranger from barn to garage to install a poly windshield i bought from amazon.
Found out it needed assembled, rubber seal around the side was a PITA to get on, then clips on side didnt fit the holes, so had to file the hole bigger.
Then went to install the vent slides and discovered i did everything backwards. Instructions made no mention that one side needed to be the inside due to a preinstalled stud for the vent.

Tried to fit it on ranger anyways, without vent slide, and it doesnt appear to fit well.
And once i took the film off the poly, found a 6" long scratch on one corner, at least not in field of view. Sticker says cant return once you remove the film, but couldnt see scratch until removed.

Pretty disappointed, this thing was over $400.
Went on amazon to write review, and i cant. They said i violated their policy. No clue how that happened.only wrote one review that i can remember. Now I'm pissed at amazon also.

Guess I'll go back out and reverse everything and make it work.

fill up that fork with potatoes and you'd better be pretty strong, looks like it could hold a bunch.

Not much more to get done in garden shed, pretty much filled up waiting to be moved to greenhouse.
Maybe I'll set up my new worm farm. Concerned about getting worms shipped to me in freezing weather.
My Urban Worm Bag has been taken to the country. Gosh I hope my country worms will be ok...;)

Don, that is not a potato fork. Potato fork has about 4 heavy tines strong enough to dig.

Called mom she thought it was used for cleaning out the hay from the barn.

It’s new use is the best mulch tool for the Trail Blazers group. IMG_2601.JPG

I thought that fork was a haying fork. It would take a strong hombre to pull potatoes with that fork. We always used a garden fork as described for potatoes.

BEF- I do not envy your situation. What a ripoff. Good luck.

Drew- Good luck with the worms.

RNG- That’s a nice sawbuck. I agree about current designs, I made a sawbuck out of pressure treated doubled 2”X4”’s similar to yours when we bought this place +30 years ago. I bet I had 20#’s of self tapping screws holding it together. It was constantly modified as needed and finally DOA’d this year. Thanks for the picture.;) It’s 16” for me nowadays.

David- NE won handily today. Today it was LA who did not show up. I actually stayed awake. I did not go near my easy chair.

3 possible weather events with multiple un-phased parallel (upper level lower level/jet streams) system setups next week = my head hurts. February should be interesting. Maybe, just maybe I'll get a snow management exercise this coming weekend.

BEF.. What kind of windshield did you get ? I picked one up last November and the description you gave it sounds like the one I got. The only problem I had was putting the rubber seal on it. Mine was a Seizmik windshield.

Sorry to hear you had problems with yours.

CWB.

Good evening all. 35F this morning, cloudy, calm wind. Wind was calm to light, sky overcast all day, and high temp was a whopping 38F. Chapel this morning, followed by breakfast, wife wanted pancakes. no stove duty today, chimney sweep scheduled for tomorrow. watched some football, napped and conserved energy
Buckeye, that just does not sound right
Good to hear from you Farmer.
prayers for all.

I think I just paid fifty plus dollars at TSC for the latest and greatest version of that tool. I user it for raking and cleaning leaves at the new place. When I went looking for it I knew what I wanted because I had used one cleaning horse droppings in stalls.
Found this at grandpa痴. What was it used for. He grew cotton, corn, peanuts.View attachment 586944

Harvey, I have no problem getting access to the key, and no one is denying me access to the tractor I just feel strange about jumping on it and going without talking to someone knowledgeable about the origins and history. Finding that person has been a challenge. I have not run into a know-it-all person yet they are all very receptive to anything I have to offer. If I mention that something is needed I'm encouraged to make it happen. This is a very active adult community and very easy to live in. With your skills and knowledge you could be the respected Know-it-all go to person. You are the guy that makes it happen, I'm just a wonderer.

I'll try to get some pics of the stuck door in a few days. the top rail is only slightly bent maybe a 1/2" outward, which should not bind, but when the front of the door goes out the back of the door might be going in and scraping against the frame making it stick, I'll check it out.

Right now the trailblazers are texting help is needed on the trail and I need to try the new tool in my previous post on picking up the mulch. Trail blazers does not have a FEL only a Mule.

Kyle, I'll get some pics in a few day on the truss modifications I made.

Good morning! a frosty 32 heading to the 40s, cloudy. Active day.

Oh, when I got back from mom's yesterday i noticed the tractor had been used, I just can't be in enough places.

Sorry for getting out of line Don. I think I should put up a thread on the new door on my new welding/blacksmith shop. It might help to see how I designed it to avoid most of the common issues with sliding barn doors. Weæ±*e in Yuma now, getting shoulder fixed and chilling in the sunshine.

-8 right now...high in the upper 20's today. Looks like the deep freeze might have abated for a while.
Heading to Connecticut in a couple hours for some training on a new (for the company) data management system. I'll be in CT through Thursday.

3 and going to a high of 23°F. Wind NW 6 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

I got a town run this morning. I will leave around noon, that way I will catch the mail on my way out.

Other than that, conserve energy.

Have a good day all

Woke up to find that it has been raining. Shame as after all the wind yesterday, the pile of gorse I cut earlier would have been nice and dry to burn. Even more of a shame was having to cut it down at all, the yellow flowers provide a rare touch of color at this time of year, but a dozen or so bushes were forming too good a hiding place for something sick to lay under unseen.

neu-t-of = shorthand for new tractor driver detected - get off !

or maybe

neut-of = neutural off - left in gear, or with forward/reverse selected ?
