Good morning!!!!

David I really enjoy buying her things but in reality we really do not need them. It is definitely not for show as we do not really go anywhere as you said if it makes her happy I’ll buy her anything but she never really asks for much

Kyle my arm is still hurting so orthopedic man is next. I really do not like not being able to do things for myself. Get more blood work for high calcium levels to determine why. My wife is one who never asks for anything but after 42 years I’m getting to know the signs whenever that infrequent time she sees something she likes but only mentions it in passing

Randy, there are times I think if I could surprise her with something she’d really enjoy, I’d probably feel better about it than her. You did good

32 right now...high in the mid-40's with a lot of rain (over an inch, if the forecast holds). Pretty good probability of flooding today.

Going to be a stormy morning, gale warnings out, high winds, thunderstorms, just a front coming through, hitting all this warm air here,
65 out now (!) and temps lowering slowly over the day. Definitely not an outdoor day.

Annoyed that Massey dealer did not fix everything I told owner about. My error, told him in several emails what needed to be done. But info didn't all get over to Service Mgr. So, in neutral, tractor surges and jerks lightly, clearly something in clutch pack is grabbing ever so slightly. With 13 hours on tractor, I'm going to run it longer and see if it wears off. If not, back to the dealer again. They did get my rear camera installed, not where I would have put it...but at least attached it with super strength magnets (your old great idea Ron) so I can move the camera over to the center of the tractor. Why would I want it over on one side?

They did get my hydraulic top link on, pretty beefy cylinder, and put it on the wrong control. Easy to change lines but shows they didn't pay attention to me. sigh.

I think I'm going to sit in my garden shed and plant seeds, while the rain pounds down on the metal roof. Greenhouse heater never turned on last night, so warm out, made up for me wasting gas and running it too high the night before.

Mostly, if ever there was a person who I wouldn't expect having to go to a heart doctor it's you. You who bicycles such amazing distances.
Good luck with that.

Hope sore shoulders and bad knees make improvement today. Rich, glad you are doing better.

Can anyone suggest a beginner camera drone I can buy to take pictures like David has? That is just way cool to see your home from above.

Good morning, 29 and likely the high for today. Back into the teens tonight. Snowing lightly right now. 2nd cup of coffee is sitting here, getting my mind in gear for today.

So, guess I need to kick it in gear and get moving for today. I already know I have a little mess to clean up. I really wish sales guys would stay out of service issues.

Everyone have a good day.

20 with a high of 20°F. Wind NW 11 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

The 2-5 cm/1-2" happened. We got a whole 1.5". I will go out and scrape that off the driveway and see if I can scrape some off the others that I do.
After the snow scraping comes a trip to town, then veg for the rest of the day.

Have a good day all

59 and windy rain going to 62 before the big drop to 20s tonight here, too.

Time to get back to tax prep and the gym.

Got my load of firewood split and stacked yesterday, and brought more onto the porch. I think I'll let the stove go out since it will not drop below 50 until sunset.

Buppies, glad your wife had a great birthday.

Kyle, great story on the 20 gauge.

CWB, that's a lot of snow.

have to go through a year's worth of bills to throw out the junk and keep what is needed, been working on tax paperwork this morning, good thing to do on a rainy day. Plus my desk was a mess and now I can find things.

I need more coffee for this...bet the stuff Billy is drinking tastes a lot better than mine. Particularly with mine being half decaf...though nothing seems to affect or change the tinnitus so I think I'm going back to high test.
I use a level teaspoon of splenda half and half, meaning half regular white sugar, a combo I have found to be exceptionally sweet for the least amount of product. I put that in a big mug, almost two cups by itself, a little two percent milk, and I'm a happy man.
I think if I drank better coffee I could cut out the sugar. That would be much healthier for me.

Buppies, hope this storm isn't making your arm hurt.

Poured second cup of coffee. 26° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 27° No plans for today. But something will show up.

Thomas, change of plans on deer feeder. Found out that it would cost more to buy the 6" fittings than buy one off Amazon.

Lots of good stories and pictures lately

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Good for you, Randy

Sad in a way, nice in others, but wife told me a few years back to quit buying her things, like jewelry etc as she had enough and as she didnt work didn’t feel a need to wear. After she got her almost 3 carat finger adornment I think she feels content. I will surprise her with a new weedeater etc, but i guess the point is she (we) basically have what we need and while gifting is nice we kinda practical for the most part. We tell the kids a nice card and the thoughts are what counts.

That said, I’d get her anything I thought she’d truly enjoy getting.

My wife was a car gal, she loved them. I had my 67 Impala SS and she wanted her own toy. The Z28 was the only truly expensive gift ever and she likely earned more of the money that bought it than I did. She was a doctor I was a lowly upholsterer. I wasn’t bragging hope it didn’t sound that way. I once bought her a leaf blower. My wife never asked for or expected fancy things though Lord knows she deserved them. I was teasing Randy about the watch.

59 outside this AM. Yeah.....that is warm. Wind blowing.....will have to check for more damage to one of the buildings when the weather cooperates. Just cannot seem to find the time for even a temporary fix.

Wife's Dad took a fall. Broken leg tore ligaments in knee. Ice. Now we have something new to deal with. Told them they are welcome here over a year ago and to downsize what they have just for situations like this. But while the message was received it was never acted on. Now it is just additional stress and BS for us, and I really do not need it.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

55F and raining hard right now. Supposed to rain most of the day with a possible peek of sunshine just before sunset. Today is an errand day so other than getting wet after parking the car the rain won’t be a problem. Have a safe day all. Frank

Hard to get elderly people/parents to change their lifestyle. It usually takes some kind of life changing illness or injury to make the change. I guess I am in that group. But not ready to make any changes YET.

But you are aware you will need to make a change?

My in laws don't see the burden of others. Especially their own daughter and what she has been through for the last few years. I think they are in denial.

Good morning! 27 ˚F but the wind is now coming from the south so we will be in the 60s this afternoon.

To the gardens in the AM and trail blazing in the PM. Wife is sponsoring the sub neighborhood women card games this afternoon so a good time to be out of the house on a sunny day.

Drew, I agree with you, aerial pics like David has are fascinating. Good luck on finding your first drone. Hope your new pets arrive safely.

Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 5:15AM. Sunny. High 62F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph.

Sorry to hear about your FIL, Rip. After what you two have been through recently, it's the last thing you need. I had the same issues with my mom's boyfriend; just wouldn't budge on moving somewhere either I or someone else could help him. It took a stroke to get him into a nursing home, unfortunately in Ohio where I couldn't stay in the loop. I'd tried for five years to get him to move in with me out here, but all he ever said was "We'll see." It's almost impossible for a child to move into a parental role in those situations; maybe it helps to know you're not the first to have to deal with it?

Very curious about the new drone, Drew. The Mavic Pro from DJI looks like it can almost fly itself, but $800 is steep tuition for a beginner if all you want it for is to take a few overhead shots of your property. What else are they good for?

The Butler building guy showed up right on time yesterday, and seemed to think there wouldn't be any problem digging a terrace into the hillside big enough to fit a 50x60, even if they hit rock. Said he'd have some rough estimates next week.

Last week's rain verified that something was still leaking water into the Vanagon, so yesterday I got out the power washer and started spraying to see what it was. Ended up that both lower corners of the windshield leak, so I'll swing by an auto glass shop today or tomorrow to let them take a look. More bungling by the ex-mechanic, who installed all the glass except the side windows.

Last week a switch for the van's driving lights showed up that actually fits in the VW dash, so I had a go at installing it yesterday. Apparently it's a Porsche part, and the pins aren't the same as the VW part, but once again the internet served up instructions. Nice to have that switch working and right up front where it's easy to get to.

The low this morning was 20°. Today is going to be partly cloudy with a high in the 30's and windy again.

Hope I can get the wife's SUV out the garage and make a trip to town this morning. The wind was bad yesterday and I'm not sure how much snow drifted in front of the garage. May have to take the truck and clean up the snow later.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Where am I going to go, who will take me there, and who will be burdened to make the decisions. We see the decisions being delayed too late with our parents all the time but what about the people without children will they make the decisions in a timely manner? Are the children the reason the elderly always say "some day not just yet". (until it's too late . . . )
