Good morning!!!!

71 yesterday, daffodils in full bloom, looking like spring. 71 again today before the storms move in later.

The situation in NZ is a symptom of a sick society, one where we are being taught that only our beliefs matter and any others are not allowed. That goes for religion, politics, abortion and personal accountability.

Have a good day folks, God bless.

Good morning to all! Low down to 22, only going up to 42 today....a couple days ago, the guessers forecasted highs near 55. MY guess is that they will again be proven wrong. The snow totaled about 5" last night. Hopefully it will melt off.

It's sad that society has decended so low that small groups or individuals think that their criminal acts will "change" things. They only make it worse and create more extremism. Prayers sent to the families and victims.

After my walk around the outside of the house yesterday, I did not see any damage from the wind....whew! I thought for sure there would be something.

Today, I'm going to take some advice from others here and make it a 'conserve energy' day.

Wifey's glasses turned out well, she is pleased....that makes me pleased.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and start to the weekend. Prayers sent

Same here, except my refund is much, much smaller. I guess you and I just aren't real smart money managers.

39 degrees here this morning, going for a sunny 56. We don't have any rain or snow in the foreseeable future, so I even got the car washed yesterday at Buc-ee's.

You gotta pay more withholding tax to get more back.
With both my federal pension AND old age security I have the option as many times a year as I decide I can get them (the goobermint paymasters) to withhold as much as 100% of either pension. Last year they held back 90% for 6 months, then I changed the percentage rate to 30%.

Good morning! 46 ˚F heading to only 56 ˚F with a nice North wind and high light clouds. Trip to the Garden's greenhouse to pick out my summer garden vegetables and the trail blazing in the afternoon to put the finishing touches on the trail before ribbon cutting in 7 days.

Don, whole grain bread is no hardship but hummus is not my thing at all. Do you have any other sandwich filling suggestions for those of us who don't want to go for a ride in an ambulance ?

With the 100s of different kinds of flavors of hummus I have never know of anyone that would find them all unappetizing. We will have to explore a good recipe flavored hummus for you but until then there is always a roasted veggie such as eggplant and there is also a tuna/no tuna chickpea sandwich. Got to get on the road but I will be thinking about this today. You really threw me for a loop by taking hummus off the sandwich menu but we can get around that.

It was -1° this morning. Yesterday turned out to be a nice sunny day and no wind. Today is going to be sunny and in the mid 30's.

It quite snowing about 9:30 yesterday morning, so I got started cleaning the driveway. It didn't take as long as I thought it would but longer then normal.

LS ... I didn't see your post tell this morning. Sorry, I was thinking about my driveway and were I was going to put the snow.

We didn't make it to town yesterday so that's the plan for today.

Hope everyone gets a good start to the weekend.
CWB.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

A foggy 33ºF start to the day; 43ºF presently; mid 50ºF’s and intermittent rain showers anticipated. A morning gift of the first harbingers of Spring- 8 Redwing Blackbirds arrived at the feeders. :D. Mr. Knee is going on a ride.today for today’s orthopedist appointment this PM.

RonJH- Thanks for the turkey picture. The snowpack beneath the feeders here is getting pretty nasty looking.

Bill- Awesome video. Thanks for sharing:cool:

…. Prayers for the families in New Zealand who just went through a terrible tragedy. Hard to believe reading the headlines, what an awful thing to take place. Becoming all too common also. We have some TBN members there, hope none were affected. We are one world.- Drew. My + thoughts, prayers, and wishes for all impacted by this national tragedy; actually global tragedy.

Billy- Good luck with the Assisted Living Facility search.

Phil- Thanks for sharing. I really like that area of Route 2.

…. The situation in NZ is a symptom of a sick society, one where we are being taught that only our beliefs matter and any others are not allowed. That goes for religion, politics, abortion and personal accountability. - Randy

A global tragedy that will sadly be repeated somewhere else in another house of worship. And the more these atrocities happen the more desensitized we can become if we let it happen.

I hope that everyone has a decent Friday.

My + thoughts, prayers, and wishes.

Good morning all,

Starting the day off at 6 degrees. Clear blue sky and no wind. I really like the no wind part.

CWB looks like you got hit pretty good.

Hope everyone has a good day and prayers for those in need.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 7:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 68F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Looks like a nice calm day, so I'll get a brush pile fire going and start whittling away at all the branches and slash that have accumulated from the wood cutting.

Speaking of which, I have an email from someone at PG&E that wants to talk to me about removing wood from the property. I'm OK with them moving wood away from their power lines, as long as they move it closer to my wood yard and not *off* the property.:confused2:

Hate and evil cannot be prevented, only prepared for and stopped when they rear their ugly heads.

Don, I'm not quite a Hummus Hater, but my experiences with it so far have not been enjoyable. I'm still open minded, though, so give us your best shot and I could be tempted to give up my $5 Costo roast chicken sandwiches at lunch.

There are some beautiful '73s in the latest flyer from Rock Island Auctions, Buppies. I wish they'd quit sending those things to me.

Well, the conversation at the mechanic's went a little better than I thought it would yesterday. I came away with all my parts and on speaking terms with him, so that's something. But he didn't have a core to use for the new decoupler purchase, and didn't offer to cover any of the associated cost, either. But that's pretty much what I expected since the leopard doesn't change his spots overnight. I did learn more about the decoupler I had, though. It turns out he bought it from someone that got it from one of the big Vanagon parts suppliers, but so long ago it's unlikely, even if a purchase receipt could be produced, that they would do anything to remedy the problems with it. There's an outside chance what I have can be used as a core as it is, but it's a long shot as it has already been altered from the VW configuration and there might not be enough left to work with.

I did come home with a pickup bed full of plastic pallets, and enough rebar to start staking the survey markers with something more permanent. Had a fellow stop his truck to see how I was cutting the 20' lengths down in the HD parking lot, and asked about the little inverter. I didn't mind talking with him, but I purposely set up in a far corner of the lot so as to be out of the way, and the idiot left his truck sticking out into the isle and close enough to the rebar I was cutting I was worried about putting a dent in it. Just goes to show that common sense isn't so common these days.

Scored a couple of nice skirt steaks at the grocery store, the first time I've seen the whole steak offered instead of cut and rolled. Oddly, one was cut in half, which made rolling the shorter pieces something of a challenge, but it just meant using more skewers to keep it together and it was still delicious for dinner.:licking:

TGIF gang!:drink:

I got the IC, but no pi.

A 5 minute video for you to peer at if you want.
Industrial Toys nailed it. There was a freight train running across my roof at 11 or so last night.

I really like light shows.

Brrrr… Come on mud season.
