39 right now...and that's about the high today. After yesterday's high's in the 50's, we got a lot of melt...so, looks like refreeze tonight and tomorrow :(

Chores today:
Dump Run definitely....get some ice melt on the drive and walks and hope it'll dry before tonight. Also, replace the shower cartridge and handle (a minor job that I hope doesn't turn into "Project").
That's about it...

Eric I知 looking for an additional taste of umami (the 5th taste) for your sandwich so it will be more fulfilling for you and you do not feel like you are missing something.

The pic above was my open face sandwich for lunch. The jackfruit sandwich is on a whole wheat toasted bun and there is a bowl of purple (antioxidant) cabbage soup also. Very savory.

What we need to do for you is find that item that is needed to add the umami taste to your sandwich. If all bean hummus is out there is always roasted root vegetable hummus and spices. If there is a bean you can eat there are many spices to make it a taste savory to you.

Don, I never realised that hummus came in more than 1 flavour ! maybe I should have another look next time we go grocery shopping. What I have tried before has always looked and smelt like - well not sure I should say while some folk may be eating breakfast ... here kitty kitty.

The wind is up again, we are set for a day of rain. I got out at first light to lift out a couple of hay bales, thinking I wouldn't make quite as much mess as later in the day. While trying to clear the stanchion on my right the top bale nudged the column of bales on the left (the hay has been baled too long at over 7", so it is a tight fit to get 2 bales between each pair of stanchions in the hay barn). I was hoping I could slide it past but nope, as soon as the column of bales realised that I had miscalculated, they didn't waste a second and took the opportunity to tumble down out of the barn and go for a play in the mud. No threat to me or tractor, but by the time I had manoeuvred back and forth to re stack them, my plan to not make much mess was over.

Fed sheep, got back in and made a cup of tea to take up to my wife. Meanwhile I put the microwave on to defrost a solitary hot cross bun I have found hiding in the freezer yesterday. If you ever want to know how long it takes to incinerate one of those buns, I have the answer - I must have been pressing the 10 minute button :duh:

Think I should try and do nothing for the rest of today.:confused3:

David, for a tractor driver, there is no better luxury in life than having diesel delivered
That is a lot of diesel to store in a single skin tank, we have to use double skin or 110% catch tray on anything over 200 litres.

Up early. Need to get coffee started. 30° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 37° with mostly cloudy skies. Got a dusting of snow overnight. Nothing to cleanup. Got my mess in lawn cleaned up for now. Moved utility trailer into barn so I can get old fenders off and new ones installed. Got one fender off. Did not go as easy as I wanted. 30 year old trailer. May start other fender today. Still picking up tree limbs from yard.

David, I use Power Service for a additive. Always in stock at Walmart. Did you leave enough area for expansion in tanks?

Randy, lots of projects. Always nice when they are done.

Eric, 10 minutes on a single bun. What kind of smell did that make?

Good Morning All.

temp was 62 when I woke at 4am, now dropped six degrees already. Bye bye warmth for a week.
Storm pretty much fizzled before it got here last night, windy but almost no rain.

While Eric was incinerating his sticky bun, I incinerated a couple of burgers on the grill. Let's just say they were fully cooked
after just one side...just should not pick up my Kindle while cooking...

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

36 the chill is back very little rain and it looks on the dry side for 7 days or so. Oil change in truck the quick trip to Norfolk and back tomorrow

RNG you should not give me access to things like that I’ll be in the poor house soon enough

Prayers for all

45 going to 57. Still breezy.

Yesterday's wind gusts were like a contest...every time I'd get a tarp over a pallet of firewood and go around the other side, the wind would blow it off. But I did get all my firewood rounds brought up the hill and split and stacked, and won the tarp contest...took me from 7:30 am until 4pm with no lunch...and only a little frisbee time thrown in.

Bups, sorry about the 1873.

David, that's a lot of diesel to a guy like me that buys 5 gallons at a time.

Rick, the man (Andre Viette) that does the gardening program on Saturday mornings on AM radio loves the Bonide products.
