Kyle have you tried to use over ripe bananas as an ice-cream base. it will take on the flavors you add. Start by freezing the bananas.

Yes, we make smoothies regularly. There's just something about Greek yogurt and it's "twang".

Kyle ..... only thing better than an A/C cab ..... would be frozen yogurt in an A/C cab.

I just stuffed myself with some. But I still wish I had a cab.

55°F and cloudy skies this morning, going up to 81° today. More rain coming starting tomorrow for like the next year-and-a-half or something. Jeez, we really could use a break from the water around here.

Got lots of stuff done over the weekend. Lots of mowing, and a bunch of piddly things I've been pushing aside for too long. Neighbors horses were "supervising" again. Pulled the tractor out Saturday afternoon and washed it. Man, was it dirty, and just from sitting. Was finally able to get out in the pasture to get it cut yesterday. First time this year. Some of the grass was four to five feet tall. On the bright side, other than about four thistle plants I saw, it's all good grass out there now.

Met up with a bunch of friends Sunday evening at The Lemp Mansion Restaurant in STL for their all-you-can-eat family-style fried chicken dinner. There was way too much food, and it was all delicious. It was also great fun hanging out with my strange musician friends (4 guitar players, 2 bass players, 2 drummers, 1 club owner, and wives and girlfriends). Haven't done that for awhile. (Wife and I sitting under the mirror)

Congrats on the new tractor, David.

Hope Randy is well.
PJ, looks like a crew I could enjoy their company and their talents. Would offer just a guess, but were any of those nice looking ladies possibly groupies at one time or another??? :) It would be cool to hear all of them play an "unplugged" type event in a quiet location.

Went to see doctor about my cough, have pneumonia.

OH My, hope your meds help and recover soon. Keep us posted. Prayers.

That's how my wife makes smoothies. Yum.

Yes, yumm.

Poured second cup of coffee. 50ï½° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 75ï½° with chance of evening showers. Vet visit went well. Got 4 gallons of weed killer down. Wind came up during last gallon. Hope it did not spread too far. Need to cut lawn again. It is almost over Sassy's head. Some trimming on trees.

All control of Sassy went out the door yesterday after son and family came over. Came over to check their trailer for damage from hail the other day. Yea right. Going to be a very spoiled dog. :D

Looking, hope your summer goes well.

Mostly, nice car. interior is great. Sorry but blue will not fit in our garage.

PJ, your group can come play for us anytime.

Buckeye and Randy, Get well soon. Prayers sent.

Don, drink lots of water and wear gloves.

Kyle, how are things going since surgery. Hope your stomach pains are gone.

Rick, you get your tractor way to dirty.

RNG, thanks for the trip report.

Good Morning All.

I am much better Ron, thank you for asking. AFAICT, I'm back to where I should be. I do limit spicy foods to some degree. I don't go for full burner spice much.

Hi folks, still kicking, still in the hospital, will probably go to rehab from here if my preferred rehab place has a bed. Still not able to stand or walk properly, but improving with a lot of pain and strain.
I hope you are all well and I will check in soon.
Prayers for my friends.

So glad to hear. don't curse your therapist when they have you "on the rack". One day at a time. I still need to bring my couch by and let you "gold hat" point fingers and tell me how to recover it. :)

Mostly I like the blue.

RNG, I love that rainbow pic. Glad you had a good ride. I saw a moto guzzi on the road this morning. Looked like the rider was a beginner. Kind of squirrely at low speeds.

We got a "tad" of rain. Maybe a tenth. We need some. They say the system is coming up here from the bay of campeche, but I don't know if will head to Houston and bypass us or not.

Drew, glad you got some nice help.

Prayers for all.

Thanks for the top view.

I was going to ask why you did the brink but then I saw the end of the pipe.
Great idea to know where the pipe is and you ever need to get to the pipe... THERE IT IS !

I will keep the idea in my mind for future use.

Thanks

Good Evening. Got 1" of rain mid afternoon and a bit more this evening. Haven't checked gauge since about 5 p.m.

Temperature dropped from 93° to 78° in about 20 minutes when rain started.

More coming tomorrow.

I was on the New Holland, mowing at back of ranch, when the rain started about 3:30 p.m. It had been so dusty that the first rain turned the dust on cab side windows to mud that I couldn't see thru. I was in an area with many trees and low limbs so, had to sit there for about 10 minutes till the heavy rain finally washed the side windows off enough to see, to head home. I got soaked, opening and closing two gates to get back to the shop.

Good evening to all.

56 outside this AM. Heading to lower 80's. Looks like a great ideal pool day. Needs a good cleaning since I weed whacked the perimeter. Should have had more concrete on the windy side. Could have saved me when I cut the grass. Lol.
Hope all mend quickly. Be safe.

Good morning all. A stiff breeze this morning, which may explain why more swallows than usual are swooping around the relative calm of the yard. These look to be the older birds, incredible flyers that effortlessly manoeuvre right up to buildings to catch their breakfast. It can't be long now before their offspring take to the air too. They provide a good excuse for my minimal window cleaning - it's hard enough for them to learn to fly in order to catch breakfast, without me adding to their troubles by making our window panes invisible.;)

Ron, Sassy is almost invisible too against your floor tiles - careful where you step ! :)

Great to hear you are on the road to recovery Randy.

good morning all.
Toppop, hope you slept well. We will all be with you in PT this morning. Get better and get home for better food!

Plain old Guatemalan coffee this morning, hits the spot, waiting for sun to come up. Need to take some cabbages and tomatoes to food pantry this morning
plus the collards the ladies picked yesterday. Food pantry does main distribution on Tuesday but minor communities by food van on Thursday, so my veggies are going out in the van to about 30 families who live in an area so remote there isn't a supermarket there.

Rick, picture of you sitting in your tractor waiting for mud to run off, I had to smile, now that's dusty! You might need to change your cab air filters sooner than expected; do you do that once a year?

Need to go see dermatologist promptly, found something nasty in middle of back last night, where I can't see well, right next to where they cut out a melanoma before. I see him every six months anyway but often have to go more often.

69 going to 86 today, ten day shows thunderstorms or showers just about every day.
Summer has arrived and the lawn is back to growing like mad

Told my weedeater/landscape guy I was going to sell the Super A and he immediately asked that I talk to him first, he was interested.
Like a right of passage around here to own one of these, they are everywhere.
I spent 2500 on the tractor, put 2k into it, and will get 2500 back when I sell it. Just like the next guy will.

It is hard for me to forestall downsizing in the next year or two and since my land lease ends next Spring, time to sell when
someone can actually use it right away. My potatoes are coming out Saturday after next, that's what I used the Super A for most, hilling and cultivating.
My arms and wrists hurt so much after driving it I came to the fast conclusion I needed power steering for the future.

Snicking that shift lever back and forth from 1 to R without making a crunch and getting the motion smooth at the end of the row, that was
fun. Everyone on YouTube grinds their gears. This is where having a new clutch put in helped. 1001 shift. You just can't rush it...
That gear shift lever is light action and makes a nice sound.
Changing implements is a struggle for me, always need help, and since I'm done using it,
and this tractor is a dripper, might as well have it drip somewhere else...
Have all the attachments including three point hitch.

sun is coming up and time to go pick tomatoes.
Those girls got into the cucumber patch yesterday and did pretty well so likely not
going to find much there. All the time they spent giggling and literally squealing with delight when they found a
new baby watermelon will be a nice memory for me.

Good morning! It's 75°F this morning and raining since about 3 a.m. forecast is for a high of 82°F and rain pretty much all day.

"Rick, picture of you sitting in your tractor waiting for mud to run off, I had to smile, now that's dusty! You might need to change your cab air filters sooner than expected; do you do that once a year?"

This is normal, with our sandy soil, if we have a period without rain Drew. Cab filters, on both tractors, are cleaned often. Every time I clean them, I'm glad tractors have cabs and I'm not breathing all the dust. Ever try to smoke a cigar ..... while wearing a dust mask??

20150729_165235.jpg

When I got rained on yesterday, there was about 4" of dust and grass on top of the cutter deck. Job one today will to get, what's now 2" thick mud and grass .... washed off.

Randy .... good luck with your therapy.

Drew .... selling the Super A? You WERE ....... our best hope of a one tractor / implement man.

Everyone have a great "Hump Day".

Prayers to all.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 60° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 78° with scattered thunderstorms all day. Nice to step outside in shirt sleeves this morning. Got a shopping list to get done this morning. Hope to get Hammer Blades installed on Flail Mower today. While typing this post someone dumped a bucket of water over house.

Eric, finding Sassy on floor has been a problem. Most of the dark colors are puppy hair. She should be lighter color when she is older.

Drew, hope your found on your back is nothing serious. People enjoying harvesting/maintaining your garden got to be good memories.

Randy, hope rehab stay is short.

BEF, continue rest. Cutting lawn cannot be good for pneumonia.

Rick, when we stayed in AZ for the winter. One of my complaints was dust would collect on car. Then a few drops of rain would hit the car and turn the dust to mud. Glad you got enough rain to clean windows off.

David, the overhead view gives a whole new perspective of your project.

Kyle, glad you are doing good.

Thomas, do you have problems with bugs in basement with all that firewood.

Scrambler, wish I could go back to sleep after waking up in the morning. Guess it's not in my genes. Everyone on my mothers side of family complains about it.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Eric's "shearing story" reminded me that I received my Skin So Soft sun block, bug guard, skin lotion, snake repeller, and solar flare eliminator last week, on Amazon Prime. It doesn't smell like the original Skin so Soft but, seems to work very well so far. It's not greasy and easy to apply. AND we've not had a solar flare or snake appearance since receipt.

That's good news, but how about the bugs?

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 4:30AM. Mostly sunny. High 97F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

I don't sleep well after getting up in the middle of the night, but I sure give it a try!:confused2:

Good to hear you're still with us, Randy. Hope they're not too hard on you in PT. And that you're back in that Monte Carlo before you know it!

Hoping for something benign, Drew.

I think we're closing in on the final design for the solar power system; had a good conversation with the sales gal yesterday. Downsized the battery bank considerably from the original quote, based on the availability of a whole house generator in times of high demands/long spans of no sun. Not to mention the system will still be grid connected. Batteries will be AGM; have yet to settle on a brand, but the bank will run at 48 Volts.

Spent the morning reading up on the various components and am pretty impressed with the quality of the Schneider Electric documentation. I don't understand everything about the overall system design yet, but have a high level of confidence I'll be able to connect everything together correctly.

That left me working on the tractor in the hottest part of the day, and I quickly learned the gear case was too heavy to lift into place. Had to let that side of the ROPS down off the jackstand that was supporting it to get a floor jack in place to lift the gear case, then use a PortaPower to lift the ROPS back out of the way. Then wiggle and pump until the case was in just the right place to slide home over the studs so the bearings dropped into place. Had to stop several times to clear the sweat from my eyes, and soaked through my clothes in the process. That was enough for one day, and I like to give the sealant over night to dry before adding oil anyway. Hope to get an earlier start today, changing out all the hydro filters and oil, and maybe engine oil as well; might as well start everything off on the same foot, so to speak.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

67 going to 85 and storms likely later...weather man said maybe 70mph winds a little south of us...hope not.

Randy, good to hear you are making progress...you're a tough ole TarHeel so you'll be back to normal soon.

BEF, glad you pneumonia is a milder case.

Rick, when I get caught out on the tractor in a storm, I get wet, too - no roof and no cab.

With nice 40s temp early yesterday, drove up to the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah NP. Had a nice hike with my wife on Bearfence Mountain and chatted with a thru-hiker (hiking the entire 2,000+ mile trail from Georgia to Maine). Then lunch on the deck at Big Meadows Lodge...surprised how tasty of a meal we had, and great views looking down on the valley.

Good morning all,

50 and a clear blue sky right now. It rained some yesterday, fields are looking nice.

From reading this thread it sounds like there are a few with some health issues. There is something going around here too. Lots of respiratory issues, me included. I went to the doctor yesterday and got some meds. Sure hope it fixes me, tired of not being able to breath.

Short but very sad story here;

A neighbor has a 10 year old niece living in Afton Wyoming. She got a cut on her leg, mom cleans it up puts bandaid on it. Girl complains for days that it hurts, finally she takes a picture of it and sends to my neighbor. They see picture and said get her to the hospital asap. Local hospital takes a look, loads her on a plane flys her to SLC children's hospital they proceed to amputate her leg clear up to the hip joint. After a day or two she is still not doing well. Yesterday more surgery, the infection is still going up. They tell the family she might not live through this. I do not have more details than what I've said but it sounds like mom should have paid a little more attention to her daughters complaints of pain. I hope you'all would include this little girl in your prayers. She'll be in ours.

Prayers for all, have a nice day.
