I have WD-40, but usually use Ballistol. It has much much more pleasant aroma. :laughing:

It would be more than a little ironic if a lube smell scared off a skunk. It's a relatively new trap, so I probably just need to make sure it's set to a hair trigger.

Got any bacon grease? Probably wouldn't even need bait if you used some of that...:laughing:

Short version.... Mrs. been after me for couple years to retire but I wanted to complete 45 years on the job which will be 9/25/19,I went to H&R yesterday sign the papers and today handed them 2 1/2 month notice instead 2 week notice my last day will be 10/3/19..the room was silent and I think you could have heard mouse fart 20' a way... should be interesting next couple months.

I gave two months notice when I retired, but with almost 6 weeks of vacation time saved up, I was only around for the first two weeks. I was treated like some kind of pariah the whole time, as if somehow after 29 years I was being disloyal to the company and irresponsible toward my supervisor. After all that time, though, I could've done that two weeks standing on my head if I had to. Hope the transition is much more friendly for you.

One of my good friends, former coworker stopped in tonight. We were talking retirement.... I took a defered retirement from my first job, which i can start collecting in 15 months. Wont be enough to totally retire though.

You have no choice in the matter. Well, you do have a choice to negotiate or have them take it, your deck of cards is short. Anyway the meeting was dissolved today after some of the points they agreed to verbally were not in the written agreement - will try again next week.

BEF, I just saw your diagnosis! Prayers for your full recovery, that’s scary I know, we had a friend that developed it while she was in Europe, she a complete recovery, it took a little time. Godspeed my friend.

I’m continuing to improve, especially since I’ve increased the lasix and gotten about 10 lbs of water off me.
I’m walking larger areas of the house with no aid now, but I still take the walker on trips away from the house. I’m driving again. My sleep pattern is still a mess, but I’m told that takes as long as it takes. I feel so much better since the fluid is getting away. I have to watch my sodium and kidney function though, one big balancing act.

I still can’t walk far enough to visit mom, so Ellen is pushing me in the wheelchair for that.

Speaking of Ellen, we were married last Saturday in pretty ceremony on our deck with about 35 friends and family, my son was my best man, considering how close he was to his mom, that was a big step.
Ellen has been an absolute angel through my illness and I have no idea what my fate would have been without her.

Your timing is about the as same mine when I retired 15 years ago. I spent 2 weeks cleaning up my projects and desk. Then was on vacation until my official retirement day of October 1. Had a all day retirement party at work saying good by on that date. Then a dinner with all the top people at work and my wife. I would say it was a good send off. Had to travel to Akron OH for the send off.
