71°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 78° today. The original forecast was for mid to upper 80s, but some pending storms, which look like they might last much of the day, changed that.
As of this weekend, we have officially cut the proverbial cord on phone service. I say "proverbial" because for the last several years our home phone has been through Verizon, and was really just another cellular device that ran through a stationary receiver in the house. We almost never use it, so there was no point spending the extra money every month for it. Wife even sold the equipment on Facebook Marketplace yesterday; the receiver and the four piece cordless phone system.
Another weekend event is our anniversary on Sunday; 16 years back together, 6 of them married.
I know I've told my tinnitus story here a few times; careless rock musician damage over the course of about 35 years. I know of no cure for it. There are a bunch of things that various people claim will lessen it's presence, but I've not found any of them to work for me. The only thing that has worked for me is learning to live with it. You get used to it and don't even notice it until a) you're in a quiet room, or b) someone uses the word tinnitus. Wife was watching one of those Criminal Minds TV shows a few years ago, and one of the main characters got severe hearing damage from an explosion. For the next few episodes, every time something loud happened near him, he would wince and they'd play this multi-frequency high-pitched squeal noise. She looked at me funny the first time she heard it, and I told here that's almost exactly what I hear all day every day. It doesn't fade in and then back out like they did it on TV, it's just always there. After that, she gave me much less grief about my hearing.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
