75 degrees this morning, going for a high of 94, so it's a little better than it has been. But the good news is that the humidity got down to 70% so the grass was dry for me to mow this morning.:cool2:

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!!

A foggy 45ºF for today's low temperature; a clear and sunny 50ºF presently; and I anticipate a clear and sunny PM with the afternoon in the high 60ºF's. I actually slept well and wet. I may be turning into an amphibian. Right now I am loving the Prednisone's energy and free air pathways. My plan for today: try to manage the energy appropriately; "sometimes" I do not manage it well. One thing for certain a couple of dog walks on a beautiful day and filling out MA "clean water" certificates for the kayaks (zebra mussels) for planned kayaking next week. Fall is a beautiful time to be on the water in any type of watercraft (even PWC's).

Too much coffee :eek::cool:

"... Not being able to breath well must be worrisome."- Drew Thanks, I've been dealing with this all my life, and I've developed all kinds of both good and bad practices managing it. Based on what I've e dealt with professionally, If I live long enough I'll probably die some day drowning in my own bodily secretions in some kind of facility. Thats the way it might turn out then, but it will not stop me from living now.

Buppies- Good luck today. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

"... Sometimes laws seem to come down hardest on those who do their best to do the right thing."- Eric "N good deed goes unpunished." That's been my observation and experience. According to my insurance I can travel on public roads along my property line, but I have to have a SMV plate and be 100% on the road with lights and hazards according to MA law. I do not qualify for an AG plate nor want to pay the costs. The local police and state police are liberal about tractors on the roads around here. I used to drive to my last place of employment to till their gardens. I got a free (beat up) 8 Woods landscape rake for my efforts

RonJH- Thanks for the +'s and anyone else whom I might have missed :embarrassed: I think of you and wonder how you are doing often. My + thoughts and wishes.

I hope that everyone is having a decent Friday and a decenter weekend.

My + thoughts and wishes

Good Morning! It was 72° and foggy this morning and high is forecast for only 89° this afternoon. Maybe some rain mid afternoon ..... fingers crossed.

It was great getting to sleep in my own bed last night.

The grass around the house was about 12" high, when I got back from the Hill Country. Got the mowing done, with the ZT, yesterday PM but, still need to do the trimming today.

Hope everyone has an excellent Friday.

Prayers to all.

Buppies, JB, BEF and all you guys, special prayers.
Rick, sounds like a fun trip, playing cowboy.

I told my fill in grass cutter that next week is his last week mowing, I’m going to do it myself now. I’m going to spray my driveway and property boundaries.

My BP was high yesterday and last night, but dropped right off to normal after breakfast, no idea what that was about.

Have a good day folks.

I am not happy sitting around not being able to do anything (chiropractor asked me to take it easy and not lift anything to let my back settle down).. good news is my back pain is minimal since the adjustment on Wednesday, have another adjustment later this morning.. then another next week.

We got our first freeze last night, heavy dew early, then froze good at dawn. Outdoor sensor says it got down to 32. Storm is coming tonight and supposed to hit us this weekend. Might try to blow out sprinklers later (have my wife do the work, I can supervise).. I don't want to be bending down opening and closing valves, that is one of the no no no nos that the chiropractor told me about.

Glad folks are doing better..

Stay safe, prayers for all in need.

Good deal. That should be plenty. Will it be inverter style? On the solar, How many panels? rough wattage?

Cummins RS22, propane fired, inverter based, 22 kW generator. There will be 20 solar panels rated at right around 400 W each, depending on what is available when the county finally approves the building permit. Still somewhat up in the air about the size of the battery bank. Probably be somewhere around 1000 amp hours to start. I see it as mainly an emergency backup in case the generator won't start, so if it can power the water pumps for an hour that's probably all that's necessary. But batteries will also allow some shifting of power demands out of peak pricing periods during the day, if I can figure out how to program the inverters to enable that capability. Just got a message back from the propane man yesterday that he has a 1000 gallon tank on hand and can install it as soon as I've made room for it. And with cooling temps and fire danger declining, I'll start chipping away at that. Just hope the tractor doesn't break down again...

Rng. My experience with 240 and the situation you described is one leg is broken but the gap is close enough for enough power to bleed through to make a meter read it. But when you load it then there痴 nothing. Trick is to find the break. Is the problem only with the meter? It sounded like it was running appliances fine.

It was an 18" error, Farmer. I'd lost track of how the generator feed came in, and had inadvertently shut down the breaker that controlled the generator output. Worse, I hadn't documented how it was wired up, and had to kill the power and pull of the access panels to trace the wires. Now there's a new sticker on the generator power port cover that says what breakers need to be opened and closed to get it to work.:confused2: Fortunately, it's just a temporary setup until the solar system is installed.

This may not bode well for some bigoted, ignorant TBN poster who (a good thing) "energized" me early this AM. Now I need to decide whether or not to continue watching a fairly decent (so far) Thursday Night Football game (fun) or deal with some ignorant @r$eh*le. I could flag his post with a moderators as un-acceptable and take the cowardly (anonymous) easy path, but that's not who I am and for which what I stand. It will be interesting to see how is post was received and/or responded to (or probably not). I have not checked yet. I need to determine if it is worth the time & energy. We'll see.

It's going to be a long night.

That's a real good news, bad news, report, Jay. Bad that you're not as far out of the woods as you thought, but good that you've gotten to the bottom of the problem, and have a clear, if somewhat unsavory, path forward.

You only get so many golden arrows in life, and it would be a shame to waste any of em', let alone your time, trying to change the behavior of some internet ignoramus. You control your response, so re-purpose that energy and focus it on your recovery. Goodness knows, we're all pulling for you, too!

60°F and light rain this morning, going up to 90° today (record high for today is 91°, set back in 1891). Looks like we're in for upper 80s to low 90s through next Wednesday.

Most I ever travel on roads with the tractor is the 200' from one driveway to the other, and then only maybe once or twice a year. Even at that, I always turn on the hazard lights, as we get more than a few Speed Racer types flying down our road. We're between two hills, but far enough from each that there is good visibility from both directions.

My horse and I just returned from a week, in the Texas Hill Country, at our annual Trail Ride.

You were gone, Rick? No wonder it was so quiet around here!:laughing::laughing:

Good to have you back, but don't stress on catching up. Just the usual barnyard antics from the inmates...

Wow Eric, you live in a British California.........
A rule for everything and rules about rules.
Being civilized is one thing, being nitpicked to death by overbearing revenue oriented,
inadequately equipped inspectors who love to write up infractions on their ever
present clipboard is an unpleasant reality.

Yes, I think I can go on the road if going directly to a second owned premises, which I don't have.
But not like you could drive 100 miles to your mountain cabin...

Europe has always had faster tractors, though now I guess JD, etc has caught up.
My new Massey goes pretty fast in 5th High, I'm too chicken to put it in 6th, not on my little roads.
I wonder what the Germans do, land of the Autobahn and top of the line Fendts.
We need some tractor racing on the Autobahn, some high speed curves on the 'Ring.
I nominate Eric's Iseki as our first TBN driver.
RNG can be the camera man in a BMW with a sidecar.

being at risk for getting the verbal hook,
I'll head for more coffee.

You hit the nails squarely on the heads regarding bureaucratic meddling, Drew, but as I inferred earlier with my golden arrow comment, it's usually just better to jump through the hoop, pay the money, and get on with more important stuff like tending to the important things in life.

As far as your imagination goes, though, I'm not sure any of us can match its colorfulness!

Rick- I am happy you and your horse had a great time. You are a better person than I. The only time I rode a horse was in CR and was work related, We had to ride into the jungle basecamp on horseback. The guide/staff matched horses to students and staff based on their assessment of compatibility. I do not know why , but I got "Caballa el Diablo." She apparently was the dominant horse. She bit all the horses ahead of her until she got to lead position and then she decided to slow the pace down and figure out how to get me off her back. It was challenging until the guide cut off a nice size branch to help "influence" better behavior. I never had to use it other than wave it just where she could see it. I had to wear a hardhat (over my bush hat). I threatened the students that any pictures taken would result in "(unmentioned) severe consequences" = no pictures taken. ;)

Hawkeye- I hope you can return to "normal" activity soon.

"You only get so many golden arrows in life, and it would be a shame to waste any of em', let alone your time, trying to change the behavior of some internet ignoramus. You control your response, so re-purpose that energy and focus it on your recovery. Goodness knows, we're all pulling for you, too!"- RNG- Thanks. The social justice warrior in me will not die until I do. Anger redirected can be a powerful tool. In a strange way that jerk got me fired up and I was able to redirect that energy to help myself and not feed into his BS. I did a lot of additional research on my "stuff" and have a better understanding about the dynamics regarding my body and the interaction of what I have and what I do. The Vagus Nerve(s) are involved in all of it.

The new finger oximeter arrived today. O2 saturation ranged between 91% - 94%, based on history this is fairly accurate. Cardiac seems accurate for when I took the reading. I will calibrate it Monday at the PC appointment.

I apologize to all for my prednisone driven rants & raves.:embarrassed:

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 8:45AM. Partly to mostly cloudy. High 77F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

I've been known to ride the tractor over to neighbor's places to give them a hand, insurance be ****ed. Not sure I'd participate in a parade, though. Not on that beat up pile of junk.

Thanks for the explanation, Eric. I recall seeing diagrams of the various sockets and how they're connected to the generator field windings; if I get a chance later I'll scan them and post them here for your amusement.:confused2: I have to confess that my knowledge of electricity is probably just enough to make me dangerous. Which reminds me, I need to get a call out to the electrician that was recommended to me to help on the solar installation. I'm not convinced that the sales staff I've been working with knows a whole lot more than me, and it's a bit like the blind leading the blind.

Didn't manage to do much but get to town for some grocery shopping and pick up some motorcycle parts yesterday. I did get a copy of the recall petition for our esteemed governor over to a neighbor, where I was rewarded with a bowl of frozen Bing cherries from their orchard. :licking:

The Check Engine Light came on in the van during the trip, but not for the IAC valve. Now it's complaining about the radiator fan relay, and I'm not sure there is one. This could very well be another case of the VW side not having something that the Subaru brain needs, so it's back to the whiz kids on the forums to sus out a solution.

TGIF gang!:drink:

73°F and .03 inches rain.
Off to town, breakfast with wife, errands.
George will be deforming the concrete. I’ll have some cleanup. Then back to mowing, wx and time permitting.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I have to take personal responsibility despite the driving forces.

That "required" MA "Clean Boat Registration Form" makes no sense even to a seasoned state employee (retired). This form is required for some bodies of water and not for others as well and the list changes irregularly in typical state fashion.

I do not know why, but coastal states seem to have the craziest governmental politics, policies, and laws despite the controlling party.

Jay, am glad the prednisone is helping. Even if you trade a little longevity for a much better today and tomorrow,
some times a good choice. My last memories of my grandfather Adolph aka Otto was him gasping into a mask hooked
up to a big oxygen bottle next to his favorite chair. And then my late wife used to get scary asthma attacks that left me with my hands
on the phone ready to dial 911 as she gasped. She was a nurse, but sometimes if you don't call, you wish you had.

For those who watch their thyroid function, I rang the alarm at 6.5
But because I only have half a thyroid, they said I was ok up to 10 and then
the synthetic thyroid medicine is given. Another pill for the pill box. But hopefully not.
If you have all your thyroid and run a 10, well....run, but you probably can't since you
are half asleep from low thyroid. Snore. I was told to come back in a year and let them know if number is headed for 10.
Meanwhile they ordered some other blood work. Which reminds me to call that in and make an appt.

They asked me if I was excessively tired.
well, I suppose, but I'm very active at times, and hopefully this coming year will be slowing that
down quite a bit. So am I drinking all this delicious coffee to stay awake due to known drowsiness of
muscle relaxants and neurological pain killers, or has the cause all along been my thyroid?
The medical plot thickens. What is super helpful is being able to track my results online.
the doctor yesterday was seriously impressed with me bringing in a color TSH trend chart for him.
My late wife the nurse taught me well. Like Toppop, and others with medical wives.

That's when I started bringing in chocolate donuts for the hospital nurses and specialist's front desks.
Haven't stopped since. Spreading quality calories everywhere...though if those baby easy peel oranges go on sale, I try those,
just a foot in the door, trying to determine are they a chocolate crowd or how about some healthy oranges?
The oranges are always appreciated. But something tells me if given a choice
the hands would go for the Entemann's chocolate donuts first.
