Good morning!!!!

I need to keep working a few more years or I wouldn't put up with some the work stuff.. I can take time off, but with no backup, I have to check emails periodically throughout the day.. In days past, we cross trained and had enough folks that people could take real vacations. Sorry for the rant, I realized yesterday that I had to take some vacation or lose it.. hard to get excited about it, but I schedule some time off.. put down 6 or 7 hours per day instead of 8, since I am responding to emails.

Drew- Thanks for the +'s. It is challenging to be a guinea pig in the health care system that really does not have a decent clue as to how to deal with an "atypical" medical condition like it seems many of the posters here or their family members are so challenged. In order to really help oneself one needs to daily/hourly track (quantify) their symptoms to help the doctors figure out what is going on. It seems that treats of sweets, donuts, and flowers always expedites the healthcare process.;) Compounding the tracking challenge is the interactions of the meds already prescribed, changing activity levels, daily living, and diet affecting the "data collected" At this point I am unfamiliar with anything thyroid related. Can you track TSH/thyroid function w/o bloodwork? Good luck trying to maintain balance. My + thoughts, prayers, and wishes.

I am lucky in a way. I can track my blood sugars, basic cardiac function, an O2 saturation as needed. I had a SOP protocol established by my pulmonologist for direct hospitalization if needed based on O2 levels. All I had to do is call him and the ER. I had a Davis Weather Pro PWS back then. I actually tracked and graphed my indoor humidity levels to convince him that house mold was not driving my BOOP. He still believed that either my manure pile or my converted horse/cow stall office at work were culprits.

Hawkeye- It sucks when one is forced to use one's earned vacation time as a working vacation instead of a relaxing one due to the vacation and sick time "use it or lose it" mandates. It's definitely not a vacation and usually it's more stressful working from home than actually being at work. In state service I could usually escape, but I ended up losing 400 hours of accrued sick leave. I never could escape from my non-state publicly funded employers during sick or vacation time. I hope your back straightens out soon and the pain resolves soon. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers

Hawkeye, bad backs are plain awful, sorry you are going through this,
been there, done that, and happy that I am holding my own, though I really can't lift
more than fifty pounds any more without hurting something. Likely which already hurts.
Hope yours feels better fast. One thing for sure, predisone sure works from personal experience.
Even my older retired doc friend said my back would feel great while getting prednisone for
my ear problem. Didn't fix the ear but sure made my back feel good.

Showers starting to pop up along the coast. Probably will work their way in this way later today, cloud cover is nice.
Weekend is almost here. Isn't the sun over the yard arm some place? Probably Margaritaville....
Like many, I could use some rain here, bring it on.

big bird had a very bad day right outside my place this morning. Someone wacked him good, white feathers everywhere.
Was hoping some carrion eater would haul it out before it got pizzafied on the road.

Randy- It's great to read that you are really getting back to "where" you were before you got sick. I hope your trend continues and hopefully exceeds past performance.
