Got the remainder of my MIL possessions moved yesterday...totally cleared out her old 2 BR apartment...moved some to her new 1 BR one, some to our house for temporary storage, and some to Goodwill. Treated ourselves at the Tex-Mex place nearby for a reward. My wife is bushed.

Got a notice from Verizon that my cell phone may not handle GPS apps correctly starting Nov 3. due to the GPS Week Number Rollover. I read up on it and it could affect a list of phones as long as my arm, and dedicated GPS devices, too. Apparently the GPS system has to reset every 1,024 weeks.

No. Whipper got her name not from "Whipping" snakes but from the breed of dog "Whippet". When she first showed up at our place we thought she was a Whippet breed because she had the shape but she was just starving. We latter did a DNA test and found her major breed was a German Short Haired Pointer along with a little Greyhound. So the Whipper name will remain. We are only getting her trained for the rattlesnake smell she might still be whipping other species of snakes like this Rat Snake - filmed by Ron.

I got 2 cords into the basement yesterday, now to stack it.

The Jeep and its' trailer go away today, for the winter.

I am not sure what I will get into for the rest of the day.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 33ｰ with clear skies this morning. Heading to 61ｰ with partly sunny skies. Heavy frost on grass. Did a bunch of little projects yesterday. Electrician friend came over to help me figure out why one leg of 240 to animal barn keeps dropping. With 2 of us we were able to do a test of the wires running from pole barn to animal barn. High resistance on bad leg. Shaking feed makes it go even higher. This run of wire is solid aluminum wire. Must be broken inside. Was up when I bought the house. Going to replace it today.

Drew, glad you found a manual. I still have the folder on my iPad of all the appliance and other equipment manuals that my motorhome had on it. Did not like caring that big folder of paper. Glad the Surge Guard is OK.

Buppies, good luck truck shopping. You may be a little early for end of month deals.

Winds were in my favor yesterday back pack blower purr like kitten all caught up blowing leaves until tomorrow,9pm the I headed for dream land.
Now 4 pointer enjoying some apples for breakfast.
Plans for today...Maybe quick trip to town,Mrs. has small project for me,might clean main ditch from leaves,slow roll dirt road country ride late afternoon other that putter.

I'm thinking of just putting my Beach Boys "Endless Summer" album on loop, in the tractor today, and play it continuously until Fall .... actually arrives.



I need to start cutting one pasture, with no livestock, today.

I did some more tree trimming, in this same pasture yesterday.

Good morning to all! Low last night was 38, going up to 68 today and sunny.

A cold front came across yesterday bringing some gusty winds and a couple of very brief sprinkles. They said a few snow flurries were possible, but that didn't happen.

Today will entail painting 3 doors for the pantry and utility closets in the cottage. They were initially back ordered, then the B/O was extended, then the style got discontinued. Had to get a similar but different style from a different manufacturer. The original doors were to be knotty pine stain grade. The new are paint grade. They will sure be better than looking at everything on the shelves and the water heater / plumbing, and valves.

BEF, hope you get the GDO problem figured out. Does the door go up and down easily without the opener attached? Maybe binding guide wheels?

Drew, the aftermath of the meal is proof that it was good! I'm glad you are enjoying your trip!

Rick, that album is one of my favorites. I think I wore off all the grooves on the record. About 25 years ago, I packaged up all of my LP's and sold them to a store for pennies on the dollar.....one of the worst things I ever did. Can't even find some of the songs off those albums....

Checking In:

A clear and sunny 35ºF for today’s low temperature; a clear and sunny 52ºF presently,; and with all the sun today’s high temperature may reach the mid 50ºF’s. The (dried) black bean soup that I made last night was really good with homemade (smoked) turkey stock and the smoked pork butt that I purchased from the nearby smokehouse that I recently “discovered.” We’ll be eating this soup for a long time. . A beautiful day here to putter around outside. The weekly dump run accomplished.

Drew- I am happy that your guests and you had a great meal and those leftovers look to be good eats.

Randy- I am sorry to read about Ellen’s Dad, Mom, and Sister. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers. I hope you enjoy the car show.

Don- Thanks for sharing your video. I know from personal experience that a rat snake’s bite hurts and they really do stink when agitated.

Rick- Thanks for sharing the pictures. It looks pretty dry down your way.

Ted- It reads like progress is really being made on the transition. I hope that your knee is is cooperating w/o too much discomfort. I am sorry to read about the BO’d door and the need for a second choice. “… They will sure be better than looking at everything on the shelves and the water heater / plumbing, and valves.” That’s what we dealt with when we first bought our house and along with no cabinets there were no closets, leaking home made double paned windows, no cellar, 3 old smokey wood stoves, and electric heat. It was obvious that the previous owners had a large male cat.

I hope that everyone is having a decent Saturday and that everyone can get some R&R this weekend.
