Buckeye, that sounds like fun.
Just sent helper home, finished ripping out the okra and doing a lot of garden cleanup.
Now I'm bushed and intend to stay off my feet.
Got some nice seat time in big Massey mowing fields and roadsides, had to get up and down a bunch of times for trash.
But sure was nice to be out.

home made blackberry/blueberry preserves made from my bushes.
Yum. Thank you neighbor.

found my one tractor picture of the trip, not very good, little JD with a big leaf sucker.

47 degrees and misty with some fog this morning; cleared off before 10 a.m. and eventually got up to 64 degrees. I had to take my wife and her sister to meet their brother for lunch about 75 miles east of here. Nice day but I'm glad to be back home.

Ron, I opened your crane pic in a new tab then enlarged it. Looks like the bird was looking straight at you while you were taking the pic.

I got the firewood piles relocated, the flatbed trailer moved and the grass beat down where it parks. Took about 2 hours, now it is Miller time.

I was standing at kitchen sink window. About 50’ from Crane. There are 3 of them. One is always looking out while the other 2 are eating. They take turns doing this. They do not run away unless Sassy is chasing them. I am sure they can see me at the sink.

Canada Geese do the same thing. Depending on the size of the flock, there might be two watching for predators.

My internet Mobley and mini router sit in an unfinished room above the garage. There’s no outlet in the room, so they are plugged in a hall outlet near the door.

Today I decided I needed an outlet in the room. Do ran wire down along ductwork to basement. Installed outlet. Went to wire into panel and discovered the breaker I thought was spare has wire on it, feeds garage outlets.

Then found I had no romex clamps for the box, so didn’t get it done. Lowe’s trip tomorrow.

Legs are screaming pain now from all the up down stairs. Looking back, a month ago I was still scooting up down stairs on my butt, so I’ve come a long ways.

Got my first LTD check in the mail today. Wasn’t expecting that yet. Pay for October.

When I was building my house I enjoyed the geese flying over. Some were pretty low.

Good evening all. 46F for the start, overcast, moderate wind and drizzle. Drizzle let up about 9AM, Clouds thinned out in the afternoon, moderate north wind and high temp of 67F. Had less than a .1 inch rain in bucket, trace more till 9 am. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thurday do no look like biking weather, about 2 inch rain forecast, windy and turning colder. Bike ride this morning, cold and wet till 9 then things got a lot better. 2 hour nap this afternoon.
David sounds like progress. Is the new generator in position, and just need the fuel and electrical hookups and engine inspection oil change etc?
Eric been a while since a new tool did that for me (smile when you walk by).
Drew can you shut off propane at the bottle at end of trip or does that cause problems also? good luck with your cord.
Billy, also wondered that myself, but never had a problem starting the ford at 20F or above (no block heater).
Drew, wife and I are in for beach maintenance :)
Don how much will you garden produce in the Fall?
L4N nice progress on winter prep.
Buckeye, nice progress in physical capability.
prayers for all.

surprisingly warm morning, 71 going up to low 80's, going to be a wet day with showers and thunderstorms.

I realized today was last day of ten percent off coupon at TSC, might make a trip downtown for that later, maybe not.
Sort of happy this is a do nothing day.

Frost on the roof this morning, which is proof the rain has finally stopped. I have a few replacement fence posts to knock in by hand and as saturated ground always requires fewer whacks to drive them in, I will make that my priority job for the day.

Ron, new camera is working well
Michigan looks to be the place for taking pin sharp crane pics :)

Don, saw in your raised bed pic a mattock laying on the ground. That is one of my favourite tools, yet I very rarely see anyone else using one.

Before the rain started I made a start on a new curved flower bed for my wife. She had laid a hose pipe out to mark the edge and once I cut the line vertically, the mattock was perfect for cutting out the turf.

Bed 1.jpg Bed 2.jpg Bed 3.jpg

Earlier this year we had visited a garden where the lawn edge was kept neat and easy to trim with an edging strip of mild steel and my wife asked if I could do the same. Two bits of scrap wood proved useful at getting the soil level at 4" below the grass. I welded a couple of pieces of flat bar to the ends of each 4 metre steel strip so they could be slotted together, then once my wife was happy with it, I welded them all up permanently.

38 right now...high about 47 and rain...outside work probably not going to happen.

That walk behind snow blower went yesterday. Didn't get what I wanted for it, but I did want it gone...gave the spouse the money for expense.

No plans today...

70 warm and humid and rain paused. Should see 79 and maybe a thunderstorm.

Eric, real smart project...good idea making the slot...and nice looking soil.

Ron, I like your crane better than Eric's :). (Where does he find those crazy pix?) Glad you got your insulation job done.

Randy, I saw Salisbury on a list of most desired affordable cities to live in. Picture of downtown looked real nice. Haven't been there in over 4 decades.

Poured second cup of coffee. 50° with light rain this morning. Heading to 57° with partly cloudy skies in afternoon. Got 1.25" of rain since yesterday afternoon. Lot of leaves have fallen. Will have to get blower out and clean up back patio. May get Trak-Vac hooked up to Lawnmower. Need to get house ready for contractor to repair and paint ceiling after last springs roof leaks. Then some NASCAR.

Wngsprd, Eric know where to find great Michigan Crane pictures.

Check and Looking, I kept my boat at Port Darlington for many years during the summer. Lots of talk after going out fishing each day. Beer always came up. One of was having chest pains when he drank Canadian beer. Someone suggested he try Bud. It stopped his chest pains. Every time I went home had to bring him back a case of cheap Yankee Beer.

Eric, I think I would be filling the trench with concrete. I do have a Mattock hanging somewhere in the barn.

Don, looks like lot of seat time to fill those raised beds.

Buckeye, check that is actually in the mail is a good thing. Glad you are slowly improving.

Roy, one less engine to maintain.

Drew, I like Blackberry preserves. Just bought an fresh jar of it from a local farmer.

Prayers and best wishes for all.

Good Morning All.

I Don’t live in town, but all is not glory and light there. It has improved mostly due to the growth of the university and the chicken industry.
