Good morning!!!!

The governator of Ohio issued an executive order Sunday to shelter in place. Odd thing, the order was written by the state health commissioner.

The order has an impressive list of businesses and individuals that are 兎ssential? And yes, the cannabis industry and it痴 growers, retailers, processors, and employees are essential.

The company I work for makes essential equipment in multiple categories. I work in an essential department providing support to essential equipment. But I can work from home so life is good.

My wife manages a construction equipment rental store. She had already warned me they were considered an essential business by FEMA and a whole bunch of other alphabet soup agencies. So she and her employees are considered essential employees by the Federal Government. Which means the state has to make them essential also.

But, the corporate people read the State of Ohio order and all kinds of red flags went up. After many hours of studying the order, calls to the state, corporate attorneys studying the order, all stores in Ohio received a document that had to be provided to all employees and must be with the employee at all times. The document is a mere 16 pages long. You read that right, 16 pages! With the way the order is written, their corporate people feel this is necessary to protect their employees from possible legal action by the state.

You just can稚 make this stuff up....

Everyone stay safe out there

Just read the "stay home" order from the Vermont governor.
I expect most people will ignore it...like in most states.

I am expecting my company to request those who can to work from home...if that does happen, I'll comply since I do it on occasion anyway.

IMHO it is better than shine.

Yer drinkin' the wrong shine.

Just out of curiosity, I dragged the little 'ol bottle of Drambui off the top shelf and poured a little bit into a liqueur glass. Very sweet with a slight pine taste. Not my favorite, which explains why it's been up on that shelf for so long.

Pulled out a bottle of Tim Smith's Climax moonshine, the clear stuff, and poured it into a nice cut glass whiskey tumbler. Smooth, the corn flavor comes through nicely, warm feeling as it goes down. To each their own, but I'll stick with Tim. He's also got a line of brown whiskeys out too, a Bourbon, a rye, and one he just calls whiskey. All of 'em are good, too.:drink:

Kalifornia has an "essential business" list, too. It's only 14 pages long.:confused2:

My job's not on it, I'm retired!:D

But here's the deal. The Executive Order issued by our governor says we need to "heed" the direction of the Department of Health. If you look up "heed" in the dictionary, it says more or less to pay attention to or take under advisement. It does not say comply.

I'm choosing to shelter in place, mostly because I don't want to catch CoVid-19, or any other kind of flu. And also because I already made my big Costco and grocery run, and I think I'm good, with a few dietary modifications, for another couple weeks. I just worry that things will get worse instead of better by the time I have to make a supply run, and I'll be SOL.

RNG I hope it is on the decline by the time you have to go out

When I could drink the best I ever had peach brandy made in the hills of Endicott. I have had Johnny Walker blue and other liquors of similar vein and none compared

I'll give you all the terminology for the various sized bottles.
12 oz.= mickey
26 oz =26 er
40 oz=40 pounder
Texas mickey= 6 26ers and a mickey.6x26+12=168 oz. 8 ounces over an Imperial gallon. A chance for a few guys to get really hammered.

I am so glad I did the Costco delivery yesterday. I got more peanut butter, my son eats it by the spoonful.

I thought everyone eats it by the spoonful! I thought that WAS the way to eat it.... there is not any directions on the jar or warnings not to....:D

Timing is everything. You want to sheltering place at the top of the curve. But when is that 3 week window in your area? It's not here we are not doubling every 3 days.

I finally got through to a live person at the surgeon ‘s office. I asked her if she had gotten my messages. She said no. She also said she had left a voicemail on my phone yesterday.... well someone else knows their surgery is cancelled.... now I know too!

All elective surgeries have been cancelled until the end of April, possibly the end of May, determined by how the Covid19 pandemic plays out. At least someone is thinking rationally.

Went to Walmart to pick up a script... the tech at the counter was wearing plastic gloves, but used the same ones for at least 5 people that I witnessed. No mask.... mmmm... I am wondering if that was to protect himself or the customers.... probably neither!

Good evening all. 67 for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Sky cleared off, wind became moderate with some brisk gust, and high temp was 80F. 2 more days in the 80's then back to more normal temps. Slow start, bicycle maintenance chain lube and dragging brake on Volagi, chain lube and clean rear rim on Trek(brake was squalling). Sprayed front lawn with weed killer, and napped. Grayson county now has a Covid 19 case so no trips to bike shop for a while.

Other than run to PO and transfer station it was energy conservation today. Dirt was just too wet, but should have dried a bit as a nice sunny afternoon.

I think most of the stay at home rules aim to prevent crowds and just lolly gagging around, not to interfere with legitimate trips. Likely will cause many of us think twice before just jumping in car and going. I also think they are trying to target urban, populated areas more than rural.

Thanks for liking Sophie’s sunrise. 🤙
