I love Harper’s Ferry, haven’t been in two plus years though. We did exactly what you said, worked our way up to Gettysburg.

We first went to Harper's Ferry in the late 50's or early 60's. At the time, it hadn't been restored and wasn't a tourist haven. Very few visitors...

The first time I was there it was a mix of old businesses, closed buildings and the beginnings of the little tourist shops. The John Brown connection always interested me.

Another thing I thought was pretty cool was the placard...the border of Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland. You're standing in three states simultaneously. This is up by the railroad bridge, if you recall...

Rich, I won't spoil it, but last night's singles race was one of the best I've seen in a long time.

Thanks all for the birthday wishes. wanted to go do something, but the chinese virus has everything fun shut down.

The cherry pie was awesome. It took a day for my hands to get the stains of pitting the cherries off. Oh and Rick, the Bluebell homemade vanilla was great with it.

had my first zoom meeting, with my sister and BIL in California, worked very nicely and she took the camera and pointed it out at the ocean.
She was complaining it was cold...low sixties going down in to 50s at night. And here it currently is 95/104...

and while we were talking the same ancient confused resident came into my room, since the dinner lady did not lock the door after her. I have to do that constantly now
as several of these folks get lost and walk up and down the hall trying to open doors. I was nice and got her out quickly. Not wearing a mask of course.
Soon this will be just a memory. And I feel sorry for the lady's mental state, but she really needs to be on a tether of sorts.
My sister saw what was happening and told me to be patient, no pun intended. I try. I feel a little bad because I didn't tell her I had given notice here, as she is
very opposed to my moving into rv, reads all kinds of risk into it that simply doesn't exist. It's a much more controllable environment than here and I sure am not inviting anyone into my rv. Once upon a time that was normal, I doubt anymore. Maybe next weekend when we have our next zoom visit.

The VA - West VA line is downriver of where the Shenandoah river enters the Potomac, but upriver of the Rt 340 bridge over the Potomac.
If there is a placard in Harpers Ferry it’s about a half mile from the actual point.

Yummy looking. How long does it take to grow a pineapple? And will the plant regrow a new one after harvest?

It was the 3 H逞ｴ today. Got a 5 minute sprinkle, rest of the rain went around us.

After we got home from shopping, stayed in the garage as much as possible with the fans running. Made a lot of progress on the race bike resto. Seat is mounted, rear wheel is shiny, forks are rebuilt and shiny, the wide triple clamps I found are shiny. Now to get a long axle so I can install the shiny front end. This belonged to a friend (REP), and I know it never looked this good.

Wife managed to find a buyer for 13 Serama chicks. They are prolific at reproducing. :laughing:

I didn稚 watch again Kyle, we were out last evening. Sounds like I missed a great one. I liked the production Twins outcome.....got a message from CTex last night late, he was happy.

It varies but about 2 years. Sophie alway replants the tops whether a store bought or home grown. I think the plants continue to grow a smaller fruit, but I’d have to ask Sophie. I don’t think she removes the plant. White pineapples are the best. We have a friend that grows them and puts them in the local store - minus their tops.

The sour cherry pie looks delicious. (We used to get sour cherries from MI in 4.5 gallon containers every year)
