Finally remembered to go out and measure the garage. Ours is 24x24 as well.

I also discovered that the freebie 25' tape measure from Harbor Freight only actually extends to 23' 10". Close enough for free, I guess.

Seems most of my tapes can get tight near the end. Think it depends on how they rewind.

good morning all
76 out now going up to 90, about a quarter inch of rain expected due in late morning, hope
to get the furniture moved to self storage before we get caught in a downpour.

We had a large and noisy attic whole house fan in farmhouse growing up, and it sure did the job.
If we opened the door to the basement, it even pulled cooler air from there upwards
My parents had window unit in their bedroom, four kids got to sweat in really hot weather

I do think raising the grill would make it easier to use but need to get piece of wood to put on top of plastic table I just bought, expect the heat
of the grill would wreck the table. Thinking it would be good to surface wood with reflective metal, but now without any tools will find that hard to do.
Will google "grill pad" or similar, maybe someone already makes it.

hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all, at last no rain in our forecast today. So much has fallen this last week that I have suspended plans to get on with building the sluice, the water level looks set to rise above my temporary dam walls and I have no lower point to pump it out. Never mind, there is always another day ...

Had a nice visit by grandkids yesterday. The youngest wanted to look at the tractor, his mum told him it was sleeping in the shed. He walked past on tiptoe, putting his fingers to his lips to warn everyone else not to disturb the Iseki's slumber.

Drew, great to hear that both food and freedom are tasting good

RNG, you and Stumpy look set to be friends for life.
Maybe you could widen his tastes with some classical music too - Mahler and maggots ? :D

LS, until you said how your whole house fan works, I hadn't appreciated how different it is to mine. You want yours to loose heat, while for most of the year I need just the opposite, a fan with a heat exchanger to warm up the incoming fresh air !

Morning all.

72 outside this AM. Heading to 95. Record hot, humid weather this past month.

Got a lot going on, will scale back TBN.
Daughters coming in from land of Auz.
Lawyers engaged again.
Plumber is here for line work, 1000 feet plus waterers for horses.
Fence guys coming for 12 acres, board type.
Tree guys coming for (3) 60 foot plus, 75 year old estimate, removals. All by house. yeah...

And some really weird stuff that I might have to call LEO in on. Stay tuned for that one.

Stress level is UP. Hey, have a nice day. Be safe!

RIP, hope it’s not too serious. Lots happening.

78° heading to mid 90s. Will be Hotter than yesterday.
Up early, shoulder still in pain. Sinus headache also, but what’s new.

Thought about going to see dad this weekend, but not with shoulder hurting.

FB hasn’t been working. Only got 1 new post today, 3 yesterday. I went to a site I have marked to show me first, they had over a dozen post yesterday but none showing up.

   / Good morning!!!! #116,227

Outside chores done E muffin time. :licking:

Drinking first cup of coffee. 64° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 83° with thunderstorms. Let dogs out awhile ago. I could see lightening and hear thunder off to the north. Looking at radar map. Most of the rain is going to miss me. Weather will determine what I get done today. Trip to Menards is on the list.
I got squirrel protector up on Sparrow trap yesterday. Waiting for paint to dry. I have not seen any sparrows around bird houses. Maybe I do not need to catch any. Just have trap out.
Another picture of neighbors gardens.

Prayers for Jay and Peg.

Drew, a cookie sheet may be enough to protect table.

David, my garage is 22 X 40. Wish I had made it wider. But wife said you already have an 20 X 40 barn. 10 years later built the 30 X 40 pole barn. Now I almost have enough room for everything.

Wngsprd, I see a bug like that. When you find out what it is. Let us know.

Eric, grand kids say the best things.

Riptides, lots going on. Find time to relax.

Mostly, the place I get my Garden Pond sells that type of stuff for larger ponds. The Pond Guy. Is yours like one of these.

Buckeye, hope arm gets better.

RNG, lizard crawling up pant leg. :censored: No thank you. Sassy's favorite place to lay when it is warm is on ceramic floor around wood stove. It's always cool. But she cannot see me from there when I am at computer.

SeidelRanch, (Brandon) :welcome: to TBN and GM.

RS, lot of grass to cut. Looks good.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 75˚F, feels like 75˚F with 89% humidity, Wet bulb 72˚F, delta temp 3˚F Dew point 71˚F. It's heading to 95˚F today with a 5% chance of rain in the morning hours.

Rip, hope that LEO stuff settles down and they are not needed. Low stress life is the goal.

Heading to the Park for Cedarciding. Supposedly someone is bringing a new mystery tool to eradicate cedars under the oaks that will pull them out. Stay tuned pics later.

We take breaks every hour in the heat so my cold V-8, watermelon, bananas, and water are iced down and ready.

I will be wearing my heart monitor/Apple Watch. It now has all the apps on it that my phone has. I still have not figured out all the bells an whistles but I will. I started some kind of program that has to complete circles through activity. Helpful or annoying that is the question, but at least not stressful, and no LEOs will be on call. ( but I think they could be called through the watch . . .)

Ron another award winning pic. Every morning a mystery person, inside TBN, grabs your morning pic and makes it the Good Morning Pic of the day and is in the showcase position when the phone app opens up the Morning Thread. Who is this mystery person?

I had video preview turned off. I got sassy under the stool as the picture once I turned the setting on.

Neat.
I had to turn on Video Preview on the App like Buckeye. Got same thing on my iPad also. Not sure you would want this setting when on cellular data or other data limited connection.

74 going to 93...rain last evening measured 3/10, but 1.5 inches just to the north, and none a few miles to the west, where I went to get new meds for Coco. Was a great storm to watch.

Rip, hopes all your work is smooth and performed well, and the trouble cools off.

BEF, I'm joining you with the shoulder issue...got up at 2am for a Coco walk, and then had to get in the lazy-boy to get back to sleep. Only saw a possum...no bears since June.

Ron, that's a very interesting garden.

Need to make a plan for today...so many things need attention.

Good morning all, 70 for the dog walk, going to 93, ugh and sunny.
Just picking up the spewed branches from the fallen ash got me overheated yesterday. Two bucket loads and more than half way.

LS - The fan looks great-we have one and use it a lot spring/fall-
Drew- wrap a piece of wood with tin foil until you can find something better. Glad to see you back to self sufficient !
Eric - is your work done on the waterways ?
Rip - seems like a lot on your plate-remember to take time away to reset.
Ron-neighbor must have a lot of free time- their garden looks incredible-like the chair too :)
Jay- Where are you? How is Peg?
TXDon - so many cedars, so little time.

Dry here , so off to do some watering.

Stay safe and be well

68°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 87° today. Expecting rain sometime after noon, and a chance for rain every day through Sunday.

Best wishes for resolving your troubles, rip.

Your neighbor must like gardening, Ron. There's a lot going on in that one.

Good morning to all! Low of 54, going for 88 today. Dry air has moved in, only a slight chance of a pop up storm. High tomorrow back into the low 90s.

The house fan worked very well last night, wifey said she got chilled sometime during the night.... mission accomplished! The fan was on low, noise level was a low humm. High speed is louder than I expected, but still not as loud as the old fan with the metal shutter system. I am hoping the damper system will quiet it down some more.

Don, here is a link to where I got the fan. I was surprised when it arrived 3 days after I ordered it. They said 7-10 days. The dampers were "factory direct" shipping and they came 2 days later. The company emailed me daily with progress of the shipping. I was impressed by the company.

Drew, hope you are settling in to the RV life. We have the same small grill and used it many times on top of a small plastic folding table. No issues with it melting / burning the table. I did have a metal cooking sheet under it to capture any grease.

RIP, hope you don't have to have any LEO interaction.

WNG, hope the new meds help with Coco's condition.

Today's agenda will be to get the dampers in place. I got the trim for them cut, but not stained. It shouldn't take too long. Unfortunately, the grate / grill that is to be the final touch is still at HD.... I am dreading to go into the big city again just to pick it up....

Them maybe back on the park bench project.

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 6:00AM. Sunny. High 101F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Forgot to mention that the lizard was running up my bare leg; I had shorts on!:laughing:

That sounds like more than a handful, Mike. Hope the workers do a good job and the trouble takes care of itself.

Also hope the new meds do the trick for Coco, Billy. I'd have stepped on that bug...

Ted, do you wait for it to cool down outside and open the windows before you turn on the house fan? Otherwise it seems you'd be pumping air conditioned air into the attic.:confused2: I'd also like to know make and model of the fan you used...

You should be able to find a large tile at a tile store, Drew. They might even give it to you for free if it's a left over or sample. I have one somewhere out in the garage of "Galaxy" granite, half an inch thick, that I should have thought to use for the pizza stone, now that I'm thinking about it more.:confused3:

Hope your rains don't move more sludge into your sluice, Eric, but I'll pass on the Mahler, and especially the maggots. :yuck:

Is there an app to help you keep from overheating, Don? Would be very handy this time of year!

Another 46 cases of CV19 reported here yesterday, bringing the total to a whopping 866. Only four in the hospital, but two new deaths earlier this week, both very old with preexisting conditions. Last week's total was down from the previous week, so perhaps we're over the hump?

Sounds like someone's playing tricks on your Shiner Bock, Bird. I wonder what would happen if you sent a photo of that bottle to the brewery?

That's a LOT of yard, RS. But at least it's flat!

The dead tree out by the front gate dumped another load of branches, so I need to go up there today with some gloves and load them into the side-by-side to move them to the burn pile. It would be a good jog for the grapple, but I'm using the forks to prop up the firetruck tank lid right now.

Used a SureShot sprayer to apply the rust converter yesterday, the perfect tool for the job. I have a smaller version that shoots a single stream, but the mist from the bigger one let me coat the tank in only fifteen minutes. The directions on the bottle suggest using a brush or roller, which I'm sure would work, but this was quick and easy.

Since I was already dressed up in long pants, long sleeves, safety glasses, and a respirator, I got out the sprayer and rode around on the side-by-side spraying weeds for a couple hours. There were a lot more than I thought were out there...

While I was lifting the pallet full of welders yesterday, I put the FEL in self leveling mode. It wasn't working very well, and now I remember reading a calibration procedure in the workshop manual. So that's also on the agenda for today, right after I get the lid back on a pallet and the pallet back on a pair of saw horses.

The urethane coating for the tank was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but UPS rescheduled it for today. The metal will be too hot to paint with it by the time it's delivered, so that job is put off another day. That will be a brush and roller job; the urethane is too thick for a sprayer.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

We got .9 inch of rain from two storms last night. 77 early, going to 95.
Not much going on, have to send mom’s papers for nursing home care in before I forget it.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Rng, we usually wait until the late evening/ sunset to turn on the fan. Sometimes later, like just before bed, if the temps are still warm. Our nighttime temps will seldom be above 60, usually around the 55 mark. Once the outside temp matches close to the inside A/C temp, we switch to the house fan.
In the morning, we turn the fan off and close the windows. The A/C doesn't click on until about noon.

For opening the windows, last night we opened two windows in the front of the house about 2". The 2 bedroom windows (Opposite end of the house) were opened about 4". You can control where and how much ventilation by opening the windows/doors.

This was the exact fan that I used: QuietCool AFG PRO-3.0 - 2,860 CFM - Professional Attic Gable Fan

This was the one that I was initially going to install: QuietCool QC CL-2250 - 2,465 CFM - Classic Advanced Whole House Fan

Hope this answers your questions.

Seem to be more than a few of us here with iPhones. Just got an email about a class action lawsuit involving the performance of Apple iPhone 6, 7, and SE. If everybody files a claim, it would only amount to about twenty-five bux, but that's twenty-five bux you wouldn't otherwise have, right?

Here's the info on filing a claim:
