Does wife operate 2nd as a team ?

The grapple on the New Holland (100 HP) is for picking up big trees up to 3 tons. The one on the LS (55 HP) is for tree branches and brush up to 1.3 tons.

She's comfortable driving the LS but, the NH is a gear tractor. She can drive it .. but not willingly.

Don’t recall that wife has driven my LS yet, but back when we were building the house she was outstanding at those tasks requiring precision. Often, she would man the controls for functions that I’d be on the ground directing such as placing items with the FEL mounted boom pole or operating the controls as I positioned the PHD.
When we dug the 350ft electrical trench, she drove the tractor a few feet at a time as I stayed on the backhoe to dig.

74 degrees right now...high about 80 today.
Got nothing done yesterday. SWMBO wanted to go for a drive so that's what we did...headed up toward the Northeast Kingdom and stopped to walk around some of the small towns on the way. It's been a while since we did this kind of thing and it was an enjoyable day...
Flash flood watch for most of Vermont over the next few days...

good morning all.
Up early enjoying mug of coffee, and will start to pack things away for short trip this morning. Looks like rain will hold off until 11am so I
should be back by then and rv set back up. Forecast hasn't changed much; 35-45mph winds with gusts to 60mph. No storm surge warnings for here, so
while less than a mile from the Tar River, expect no problems there. Washington has surge warning of 1-3 feet above ground level. Pamlico becomes the Tar River
at Washington so I guess they don't expect the surge to come further up the River. Greenville was very badly flooded during a past hurricane where 10+ inches of rain came down so locals know to pay attention. So far the forecast is for about 2 inches here, and double that West of here. I'm guess double that here, but still four inches won't flood anything. We have been getting rain almost every day and the crops are loving it.

Yesterday they said winds would be out of the South. Today they say starts with E winds changing to WSW. Pretty normal with rotation of storm winds to get
winds from various directions. I'm just happy the worst stuff is due in Tuesday morning when it will be light out.

I read in a video where some late model police cars have the ability to heat up the interior to 135 degrees, which allegedly kills off the coronavirus bug.
Maybe, but high temps are rarely good for electronics so wonder what the tradeoff is there.

David, when it rains you will like having a windshield on your UTV. Sounds like a fun project and good way to use the left overs.

Had a nice zoom chat with my sister in California yesterday afternoon. She gets everything delivered in and is paranoid about disease; my brother
possibly being sick isn't going to help that. They still have big family get togethers, lots of grandchildren, both their sons have now moved to within several hours of
parents and with the beach there, it's a natural attraction.

Toppop, wonderful pictures with grandchildren.

Drew, think I read a similar article. My take wasn’t that they achieved that high temp inside the car but recirculated the cabin air at the high temp., but vehicle was not to be occupied during process. I forget the time involved but I think also a reference that effect on car was similar to sitting in summer sun.

Not that I have a great need for the windshield, but it sure seems like UPS has a knack for showing up during a cloud burst. Most drivers, especially new ones don’t come down the driveway even if I have the gate open. Then like to toot horn and leave package on the gate.

Good morning. Sheep were getting bored and begging me to move them on to another field this morning. Unfortunately they have to stay where they are, the next field with any significant grass is still counting down the 7 day exclusion after herbicide application. I have too many hay fields for this year of uncooperative weather, will have to be less ambitious next year.

It was good to see the Space X splashdown safely. I couldn't be an astronaut, not so much the space flight, it's the thought of all that swaying around in the capsule while being loaded onto the recovery boat. Even reading about RNG's issues with his self levelling loader has me reaching for a ginger biscuit to stop me feeling queasy.

I don稚 think my wife has ever sat in my tractor.

Same here. My wife just never wanted anything to do with the tractors. We also had a rat terrier who was the same way. You couldn't open a car or truck door without him trying to beat you getting inside. I've never seen a dog that wanted to go for a ride more than him. But he wanted nothing to do with the tractors; didn't want to even get near one.

74 going to 87, got a sprinkle walking out at dawn, watching the bats and great blue heron, both lovers of the dark.

Randy, they look like the happiest boys on the planet. Glad you got to see them and get them on your tractor. Hope the coming storm is kind to you.

Rick, you think storms pick the guy with the most grapples to visit? Hope your clean up isn't too bad. Can't believe you sold her Kubota.

Thomas, felt good hitting the sack last night, I bet. I have always gotten a strange pleasure digging ditches...must be the archeologist and geologist hiding in me that loves finding things and seeing layers of earth...and the immediate gratification of seeing my results.

I missed the splashdown, but sounds like I need to find a video.

I feel like I had an RS or RNG day yesterday...filled the day with work. Cleaned up some things and rearranged some in the toolshed and barn, both hot as ovens in the 90s sun. But then spent some seat time in the woods with the tractor doing some trail maintenance. Always amazes me how good it feels sitting on the tractor in the shade when there's a good breeze like yesterday...even with the temps in the 90s.

Decided to roll my generator up and out of the tool shed and give it a test run. My tool shed was built a long time before we moved here, and has a cinderblock foundation with a 2x8 sill, so to get something heavy out, I have to put car ramps on both the inside and outside, and pull it up and over. I had a newly charged LP tank with a cap, but the little mud daubers had found their way into the female end and plugged it anyway...brushed out the mud, but decided to steal the tank from the grill, which was almost empty, and I was planning to cook on it as soon as running the generator.

Got it out a safe distance and hooked up the LP tank. I had been watching the t-storm to the south and the one to the north, and their movement on radar looked like I was in the gap. I could see no rain out to horizon in the west and it was sunny. My notes showed I hadn't run it since Jan 2019 :)duh:) but I got it started and ran inside to get a bottle of water before starting up the grill.

Before I could get back it was pouring so I shut it off and rolled it under the shelter, soaking wet...fortunately the unused gasoline tank on top served as an umbrella. 5 minutes later and .2 of an inch of rain, it was sunny, so dried it off and ran it for 30 minutes, using it to power my shop vac, cleaning my toolshed which really needed it. My "empty" tank ran it the whole time, and so I moved it back to the grill, and cooked dinner, including fresh picked okra, zucchini, and poblano peppers. As I finished cooking, another t-storm hit, and they came in off and on all night with the most lightning I can remember.

Heading to the vet today, and not sure about my dental appointment first thing tomorrow, at the predicted time the tropical storm is supposed to peak here. Routine check up so hope they cancel, but if not, I may. It's a 30 mile roundtrip, and the roads will be likely covered with puddles and limbs.
