Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 5:15AM. Sunshine and a few afternoon clouds. High 59F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday around noon a large cloud came overhead and dumped hail for a few minutes. Sun was back out by one o'clock or so.
We had hard freeze warnings out for this morning, but I guess that doesn't apply here in the foothills. And that's just fine by me. Last Thursday it was 80 degrees, now we're struggling to make it to 60F. :confused2:

You can't tell us a story about an antique biplane without posting a picture, Paul.

Hope things go smoothly for your deliveries, Drew. Trying to give Rick second thoughts about his new Polaris?:D

Sorta looks like a gold finch in winter plumage, Ron, but they're smaller than robins.

Do they put tractors and z-turns on sale for Black Friday, Mike?

Sounds like Boo's brother is an equal opportunity thief, Thomas. Almost as bad as the two legged kind.

"I told her to date Jesus right now.":laughing::laughing: Sounds like she's getting over her shyness pretty quick, Kyle...

Yesterday was the second anniversary of the Camp Fire. I haven't completed the second part of my claim in the PG&E bankruptcy, so I worked on that part of the day. Lots of bad memories. Reminded me that no matter how bad this year has been, 2018 was a lot worse for tens of thousands of people around here.

Also swapped gas between the big red dirt bike and the touring rig, and got the touring bike running on the first push of the button. We'll be heading south for an Airhead campout at the Salton Sea Wednesday, and the weatherman is predicting three inches of rain here over the weekend and into next week. The RT is the perfect bike for that trip...

With the freeze warnings in place, I drained all my garden hoses and got them put away. Should have done it last week when it was warmer because it was like wrestling big snakes to get them coiled up.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

Good morning all,

It's been a long time since I have been on TBN. I have been working on my yard. (mostly done now)

It's 20 degrees right now and windy, supposed to storm/snow most of the week. I'm ready though, put the snow blower on the tractor last Saturday.

Hope the best for everyone.

Good morning to all! Low of 30, only a high of 45. Seems like all the frozen precip and the unfrozen precip has gone north of us. Not sure whether it was a good thing or bad....

Popgadget, RNG, beat me to it.... pics are mandatory or it didn't happen. We all like pictures, especially of something really cool like a biplane!

RNG, hope the weather holds off for your trip. Motorcycle trips in the rain are not all that fun, even more so if you're camping too!

Drew, hope all the deliveries go as expected.

Thomas, you should start making a documentary about the daily life of Boo and brothers.... could have a comedy twist to it! Sounds like Boo's brother really wants to be comfortable this winter!

Ron, another great pic!

Kyle, I was lucky, my daughter stayed focused on school and activities until she was about 15.... then suddenly all that focus turned to boys.... it was difficult at best to keep her in the right direction. She did very well despite all the distractions, getting 2 Masters degrees and her Nurse Practitioner license. Hang in there.... you're in for a ride....

We just heard yesterday that the school district up in Colorado that the grandkids go to was suddenly shut down again last Friday.... midday. The kids were sent home, all classes canceled and activities stopped. They are going back online, apparently some teachers have Covid.

Then we got notified that our local schools here will be going back online full time starting after Thanksgiving. They have been doing a hybrid version of online and in-person school. The numbers have been climbing....

Got a bunch of wood planks completed and ready for assembly, yesterday. Changed the design just a little bit, so had to glue up another small plank. I should be able to get the rest of the planks all ready for assembly today. I might have to fire up the heaters.

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning! 67˚F heading to 80˚F, light South wind, cloudy.
Our Association will be voting on a 0.7 mile connecting trail so we can have a distance of 15 uninterrupted miles of hiking trails in the neighborhood. That might be our winter project.

We went to Salado Texas Saturday to look for an unique glass blown bowl for on top of the Hutch. That angler fish has had a domino effect. At the glass making shop they had the most beautiful differently shaped glass objects. We pick one out a colorful silver lined bowl and the lady picked it up to look at the price and that stopped the domino effect immediately. $900.00:eek:

There were lots of people walking around and in the shops in Salado all social distancing with mask. My neighbor who has a shop in Georgetown said that business has picked up and they are back to normal. People in Texas are out and about, The fall weather has been perfect.

57°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 77° again today. Was like that all weekend here.

Wife and I worked on clearing the pasture fence lines all weekend, and have most of it done now. Both the south and east sides are cleared of all the scrub honeysuckle and other trees we didn't want. After we stopped Saturday evening, she suggested we might get done faster with two chainsaws. So I called the local Harbor Freight to ask if they had another in stock. The guy checked, then came back and told me they no longer carry the Lynxx brand. Whaaaat?! It's apparently being replaced with yet another brand. Starting to get disappointed in the way HF is doing this with a lot of their products, especially power tools. Nothing like investing in a few tools only to find that I probably won't be able to get batteries for them, and only a year later. So, we made do with the regular chainsaw and the pole saw.

A local tree service is coming out tomorrow to run all the tree debris through their chipper and haul it off, as well as remove a couple of larger stumps that are directly in the south fence line.

While we were out there, we started looking at the rest of the south fence line that runs along the field behind the pasture. We'll be starting on cleaning that one up next Spring. Wife started talking about maybe fencing that section of the field as well, once the fence line is cleaned up. That lead us back into the conversation about mowing out there. We talked over the merits of a larger ZTR mower versus a RFM for the tractor. Both have good points and bad points. Guess we'll beat it up over the winter. No hurry for that decision, so long as it's before the guy farming it plants next year. It would be about another acre-and-a-half to mow.

My Wife enjoys mowing almost as much as I do, Rip. She calls the Husqvarna ZTR "her" mower. She also enjoys driving the tractor, and is probably using it today while I'm at work.

Speaking of which, she also suggested some manner of tool carrier would be handy. I reminded her of the one I wanted to weld up last year, which she didn't seem to understand the need for at the time. When I described it again (similar to the BigToolRack), she thought it was a great idea  . So, I guess that's back on the to-do-list.

Glad to see you're back, Lynn.
