27 going to 47 and sunny. Snow was a flop yesterday...snowed all morning but none stuck.

Sure is good to have you back, Rick...good idea making a year end push for the VFD.

Alien, real nice place...185 acres would be nice...never heard of an iron roof...wonder is that the same as what we call steel roof?

Mostly, your lights look great.

Morning all. Great to see you all so chirpy.
Yes wngsprd, an Iron roof is generally corrugated iron (or custom orb) but there are a few different types (or zincalume as on my place). Colurbond is also used for roofing and sheds.
There are plenty of tiled roofs but we don't have shingle type roofs as you guys do.

Beautiful balmy 58 deg F at 5.00 a.m. this morning. Haven't got dressed yet as it is so nice to be cool for a change. Got to take my wife to the city today for specialist visit then the Dr for me tomorrow and then the Specialist for me Thursday. Getting used to needles now. I look forward to them as they take the pain away and I can sleep.
Putting a bit of weight on (98 lb)as I can't exersize or walk far due to back pain. I have had 2 laminectomys in the past and need another one then I will be like a spring chicken again.
Had to give up gold prospecting due to back pain but hoping I can return to it one day. Needles are for the thumb and Shoulder this time. (dupingtons and bursitis.)

Not sure what the day will bring weatherwize as it can change so much after an hour or two. Hope it's not a hot one again.
No further word on the farm. Just have to wait it out and hope.
Have a great day everyone.

Bought my wife a new Camera for Christmas as she wanted to be able to take close-ups of birds, koalas, wallabies etc. It is a DUD! So disappointed. Sent samples off to Sony and they said "yes, it is faulty" and I have to return it. Grrrrr. :(

Maybe should have given her cash? LOL

I usually give away most of what I smoke to my neighbors, but pulled pork keeps and reheats pretty well. And Drew, you would qualify as a neighbor.

I.

Well, Howdy NEIGHBOR

Drew .. that heater is not intended for "unvented" spaces. It's for "outdoor spaces. I've got two of them.

agreed, my garage door has a two inch gap on the bottom on one side, and I open a window several inches to get some cross ventilation.
Plus I installed a CO2 alarm in garage. I also open the garage door every hour or so to get a big dose of fresh air in there. Building is uninsulated and leaks
like a sieve...

I used to run my kerosene heater with garage door up a foot and back end exhausted outside. Garage was insulated and it heated very well. Haven’t used it in over 20 yrs, wonder if it still works.

Nice to see you're still around, Rick. Sorry about your house sale experience. Seems the best bet to get caught up here is to scan through to Mostly_'s excellent summaries each day.

Half the time when mostly replies, I have to go back to see what I said because I forgot.

Well... on my plumbing...the guys got everything ID'd and uncovered.

Looks like I need a whole new system. Field area, lines, tank. They are now trying to plot out a new field.

Is disappointing, timing and what not. Add another story to an Old House saga.

Man, the politics and regulations are ---- ugh.

Hope all continue to have a great day!

If they (county) didn’t know where it was I would have just done it without them, if it was just the drain field. Replacing tank makes it more difficult.

I'm adding a new system down at our farm. The original system was installed in the early 70's. I'm flipping it to the opposite side of the house; 1500 gal tank and lines for 5 bedrooms. Total cost here... 5K. Brand new. Permit was $525.00 and that includes a new well also. Oh... and $800 bucks for the engineer.

A very chilly day with some stiff breezes which made it a very cold day
Tonight's low about 20...but I see single digit lows in the near future...

My mound system was $12k nine years ago, and it’s only what they call a one foot mound, which is actually three feet tall.

Lol.

Yeah.... no one does that kind of business anymore around here. You need permits, surveys, inspections and licensed contractors just to plot out a field. You wanna dig a trench...yeah....not gonna happen. They keep pump records here.
If they (county) didn’t know where it was I would have just done it without them, if it was just the drain field. Replacing tank makes it more difficult.

My country is the strictest in the state when it comes to systems. In the STATE.

Could not find proper contours today. We cannot move dirt to level an area.

Is that whacked out or what?

Loudoun, Fairfax, PG? What is your zoning? Have you looked up your soil types on the US Soil Survey?

Good morning! , missed a few days, lots to get caught up on.....

My son did a video of the Christmas lights at his house (green and white lights) and our cottage (red and white lights). Here is a link:

Our 2020 Christmas Lights! Merry Christmas Everyone! - YouTube

Needed to do some errands this morning..... spent a lot of time waiting in lines.... 45 minutes at Wally World (at 6:10 am), 30 minutes in line at the PO, 15 minutes in line at the bank.... I am tired of waiting in line..... 5 hours of the day gone already....

I have had intermittent shop time, going out there right now.... I will catch up later!

Nice job on the lights!!

Start driving, it should be ready late Wednesday morning, early afternoon.

I’ve been known to drive to Paradise for lunch, so that isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

But still at work, 12 hrs today, need to knock off soon.
