I know exactly the property you’re talking about. That intersection has changed dramatically. There is now a CVS, a Weiss grocery store with gas, and the WAWA has been demolished and is in the process of being rebuilt bigger and with gas as well. So three of the four corners will be pumping fuel. I know what you are saying about prices, I’ve been here since the middle 70’s.

You probably watched me building the house.... back then, the only business at the intersection was the WAWA. Then of course, the Dublin IGA and the bank.... Whenever I google map the area, I am amazed at how much it has built up. Hardly rural anymore....

RS, I think you will be happy with the Rigid saw. I have been slowly replacing all of my power tools with the Rigid line, bought the 7pc 18v combo last year. They have become my "go to" tools. I agree about the warranty, best one out there! Just make sure you get it registered.... and follow up to make sure it gets recorded. They have a "habit" of not getting the tool registered, then denying the lifetime warranty....

Installed the mulching kit on my zero turn today. Instructions said to remove the deck.

I left the deck on. Lowered the deck to the lowest setting, then put it on my lift instead. Took about 1 hour start to finish with running to the hardware store for the correct socket. Then tried it out on the front yard. It was nice not having to chase the leaves.

Then I got cleaned up, went to my grandsons basket ball game. His team won 32 to 31 Grandson actually got the winning basket with 1 minute left in the game with a 3 point shot from the side He's improved considerably from the scrawny little kid that couldn't keep up to one of the stronger players on his team.

Then my wife and I stopped in town for dinner before going home.

Yup - I think I will be too.

Might have to look at those eventually.

Will do ... thanks for the tip ...

Nice cabinet/chest BTW ... ;)

53F and rain @ 21:00, had a heavy downpour a little bit ago.

Meatball sub with sauce and Romano baked on for dinner, The Woman had the penne with meat sauce ...

Managed to get the Wonder Board moved inside before the rain really started this morning.

Also located the hardware for the light fixtures in the hallway and got one of those put up before I pooped out and went back to bed due to getting up too early this morning.

UPS delivered the tile flange before I did. Amazon also delivered The Woman's stuff ... but left it up in the mail box ...

Shower valves valve and fixtures have shipped.

Spent some more time after I got back up watching YouTube videos on tiling and more tile saw reviews.

Have decided to go with the RIGID 7" wet tile saw ... $10 bucks cheaper than 7" HFT unit currently and includes a stand ... but the RIGID warranty was the main selling point. Will pick it up tomorrow, along with some other odds and ends.

The 10" HFT unit was in contention as well ... primarily because it got very good reviews, 3 1/2" depth of cut (would easily handle the retaining wall blocks), and they're currently offering it at a good price ("Hot Buy", $389 vs. $429 regularly) ... but it didn't include a stand, you have to pay extra for extended warranty, and it is about double the weight (86 lbs, big factor)

I'm sure the RIGID unit will do a fine job.

Hope everyone had a great day ...

I see RIGID tools are now sold in OZ. I had to look them up. I will be looking for a few items in the future.

Good morning. This is going to be a washout day, rain already lashing at the back door, unlike yesterday when I was the one making everything wet with the jet washer and had the rare please of the sun providing a couple of hours of warmth on my back while I made rainbows.

what's your favorite wood to smell burning?
I am partial to an oak smoked kipper or cod. Never tried apple wood - however good it may be, I doubt it is worth the risk of being caught felling in my wife's little orchard.

Nice work again LS. Your kids are lucky that you have the talent to make heirloom quality pieces. DNA is about the only thing my family would pass on to the next generation.

Randy, having had things stolen by scum a few times, I can relate to how you felt. Always admire the way you get on with life when bad things happen

The other day Rick mentioned something called Texas Toast. Not heard of that before, but fancied toast for breakfast and always ready to try something new

Morning All!
41 going to 50 today. Not sure what's on the plans for today. Looks like the pellet stove is in for a workout this week with temps down below freezing at night. Will be an inside week for sure.
Still plenty of snow on the ground for a white Christmas. Would have to warm up quite a bit to get green.

Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Poured first cup of coffee. 28° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 35° with cloudy skies. 3/4" of rain yesterday. Got more stuff cleaned out of house and cellar. No plans for today.

Roy, you may have posted good morning in wrong thread.

LS, nice woodwork.

Drew, my favorite wood for fire is cherry. Lots of it here. Smells good. Apple would be second. When we were in TX and AZ mesquite was good. I use mostly oak in my smoker.

Phil, no snow in my area of MI yet that has stuck. Maybe some next week.

Alien, I have some Ridged tools. Most of them come from Direct Tools Factory Outlet. They do not offer a lifetime warranty. None of the tools I bought from them have failed. Probably not available in OZ. They also sell Ryobi and a couple others.

Eric, that Texas toast will work if it is soaked in garlic butter.

Kyle, when we traveled to TX and AZ this would be the time we would pass thru your area. I would stop for one of those pork chops. Looks good.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, the temperature is 14°F and going up to 21. Wind NW 11 gusting to 20 mph. Snow flurries today.

Iv'e got about 6" of snow to deal with this morning, that will keep me busy for a couple of hours. The block heater is on and will stay on for about 3 hours before I go out to plow.

On this date in 1989 there was 23.62" of snow on the ground. There is some useless historical information for you.

RS, maybe the next thing, IF the rebar doesn't work, maybe a new jersey barrier painted that florescent orange.:D

Have a safe day all.

I sure did!!!
Here it is:
2020-12-13, 0522 (correction: 0641)

36 right now...high in the mid-40's today...

Going to do a little garage reorganizing today...I really need to throw some stuff out. I'll admit, I'm a packrat and hate throwing stuff away, but I guess I've got to...
I'd already posted how my chores (tractor related) work went yesterday so no need to rehash that.

wngsprd, send pic in PM of board, measurements too. I have a few different t&g here. I searched far and wide, found a place in Richmond that carried them. They have a pretty good assortment of restore material. Just pricey.

That's very kind of you. I picked up a board while in town yesterday morning and will see how it fits today. I decided to go a bit wider, and remove part of the adjacent board where the tongue was broken to make a stronger threshold.

Ron, that is a nice shot of a tree rat.

About ten years ago I had a winter haul out of BP Oil in Toledo, Ohio and back to Hamilton, ON, ran up I 75, 5 times a week for the whole winter. Had to cross at Pt. Huron because of placarded loads. It was fun, but it also turned me off of driving a semi in winter.

54 going to 66 and then up to 2 inches of rain starting tonight...snow maybe Wednesday.

BEF, nice job on that geo pump. I pulled up my garden cloth last month, but agree with you...too wet to till.

David, hope that 5mm works out. Please share how you like it when it comes.

dftodd, wonderful you were able to see your grandson make that 3 point shot...I know he could tell how proud you were.

I wondered why my sawing was smoking and taking so long to cut the plywood yesterday...only to realize I put the blade on backwards when I swapped blades for the plywood blade...actually pretty surprised it was cutting at all. Got the cuts done and primed, then did a little roof work. While doing the dump run, was really impressed with all of the Christmas decorations the lady attendant had placed all around the fenced in property...including a lit string of lights along the dumpster wall and fence. I'm glad the county is cool with it.

spicy guacamole sounds interesting

I am partial to an oak smoked kipper

The taste and smells of GM...now I think
sitting by a fire with some cherry wood in it
eating a smoked kipper with a guacamole chaser
sounds just fine. That fish will sure stink up your house
if you don't vent it outside. Pretty strong stuff, my Father
liked cooking it in an open iron pan on Sunday mornings.
While this horrible smell creeped up the hallways into our rooms.

Good Morning. It 45 and climbing here, heading to 55. Should be a nice clear day, with snow on Monday and Wednesday.

Yesterday I did get my new birdhouse put up in the fog.
IMG_5348.jpg

Got the old engine off the Lazer and cleaned up ready for the new one, which didn’t arrive. I popped the seals off of the PTO clutch bearings and rinsed them with WD40, dried and repacked them with grease. Removed the exhaust from the old engine, picked up a new hydro belt (blade belt is only a few months old), so it’s already to pop the new engine on once it shows up.

Got the snow blade and counterweight on the tractor and backed into the shop to serve as a snow repellent.

Today, I had a trip to Martha’s Vineyard pop up, but I will be back early enough to go to the restaurant run some Ethernet cables and have a late lunch.
