After 60 years with the same person how is that done.

I had a long talk with an elderly member of my church whose wife of many years had passed on.
He had his gravestone already prepared next to hers, just like I have next to my late wife's in the same
cemetery about 50 feet from him. His feeling was he would rather enjoy the memory of her for his remaining days
vs starting over. I think we never know, all a matter of the stars aligning and the right two people meeting each other.
If it happens, it happens. Like RNG has said, important to be happy with yourself and not have that happiness be dependent
upon others. But if you are a giver vs a taker, not having someone to give to can be hard. Best I can do at this point is give food to
the food pantry and homes for the birds.

On the night of June 1, while I was in the hospital, my late wife came to me in a dream after six years and told me to move on,
to open my heart up to someone new and get on with life. I had completely shut down after her death, and focused
on being a farmer. So now I look at Toppop and wonder if I'll get that lucky. But in the meantime
the only person responsible for my happiness is me.

Good Morning 35 herewith light rain ending. Headed to middle forties and mostly clear.

Yesterday went well in the shop, speaker is ready for final sanding.next step is to build crossover network and input plate.

Went to get kerosene for space heater in hangar, local place had inoperative pump, drove half hour to pay $3.50 a gallon. Next time I’ll just buy $4.50 jet fuel at airport. Got master cylinder off and brought it home to rebuild.

Ron, is this a replacement board that has failed, or still the original failure? Either way, it’s a good thing that you have an alternate heat source.

I’ve got to drive around today and deliver the breads that my wife baked. Every year she bakes about 30 loaves each of apple date nut and pumpkin breads. I’m in charge of distribution, so not sure how much I will get done in the shop today. I hope to disassemble the master cylinder so I can determine what parts I need.

Oh, and I have a growing pile of presents that I can’t forget to wrap....

Nice clear sky when I first went outside this morning. Inspired by Sophie's pic, saw the International Space Station pass by...their website has good info and maps for tracking.

Rick, I also had that plastic radiator overflow cap recall. Kubota must be really obsessed with getting it fixed. First I heard of it was receiving a Fedex package with a new one in the box and a nice 3 page color photos/instructions back in November, 2018 direct from Kubota. Then, months later I got a phone call from the dealer telling me about it, and confirmed that I had replaced it, and that I inspected my old one, which was perfectly fine. Then this past August I received a $6.95 certified-return-receipt-required letter from the dealer. During this almost 2 year period, I had been into the dealer several times buying filters, etc. but no one mentioned it. When the service manager called a few weeks after I got the letter, I told him all of this and that they could have saved the 7 bux and a lot of trouble by just having recalls entered into their system...they sold me both my Kubotas, and know everything I've ever bought for them, etc...seems a recall status in the system would be easy, right BEF? He agreed and said Kubota was really pushing on this but they will check me off.

It seems to me that we're having rather odd weather for this time of year; frost in the mornings and warm sunny weather in the afternoon. Calm 31 degrees this morning, but going for a high of 69. Our washing machine apparently has a leak somewhere. The last 2 times it was used, there was a little water on the floor (in the garage fortunately). So the Sears repairman is supposed to be here between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. today.

Good morning, the temperature is 26°F and going down to 21. Wind NW 11 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

My gibbled knee woke me up at 3 A.M., I had to P anyway. Rubbed the CBD oil into it after the P. Got up at 6:30 and oiled it again.

A town run is in the cards for today,and that will be the last town run of 2020.
I was informed yesterday evening that Ontario is going into total lockdown effective 00:01 hrs 27 Dec. Us north of the French River for 14 days and the rest of the province for 28 days. Another case of the north paying for Torontos' stupidity. It doesn't affect us 3 much mainly because we are more or less a hermits anyway. Birds of a feather.

I am looking for a gas powered power washer with a foam cannon. Anywhere from 2500-3500 psi.
My Kioti bought new in 2012 has never been waxed and the paint on the hood is a tad dull. I tried some Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax on the hood in 35° temps and the stuff works. I have a shine on the hood. After I get the power washer and clean off the soot that is on the left side loader arm and the rest of it, too, I will wax it all with the speed wax.

41-49 today, .03” of rain last night, just enough to ruin my sky view. Looks like cold windy weather for Christmas and the weekend.

Road service is coming out today to change my tire, I hate fix a flat but I used some to see if I could get to the shop. Wouldn’t even budge off the ground even with the air hose. Guess I’ve either got a big hole or it came off the rim in the inside after it went flat.

Gotta go get bloodwork this morning so a late breakfast for me. But as they say, better late than never!

I did the reservoir cap replacement some time ago. This one was on the reservoir itself. Seems .. they got a batch that the lower outlet was mis-formed in the molding process reducing flow. Mine checked out fine.

The ZT's, with rear discharge .. are more subject to overheating if you don't keep the radiator clean, than the side discharge decks.

My Radiator Genie ($Cha Ching$) makes quick work of keeping the radiator clear. Works great on both tractors as well.

Things weren't looking good for the conjunction at sundown, but another pretty sunset was followed by clearing skies and there it was. Camera with 40x lens wouldn't focus on it, so no photo, junky telescope guide scope let me see two points of light, but wasn't aligned with main scope so that was it. Maybe it's time to put a nice telescope on the bucket list?:confused3:

The video Chris linked to earlier said that over 700,000,000 doses of vaccine had been purchased by the US government, all of the purchases made before any of the vaccines had been tested, let alone approved, Don. The manufacturing was also done before approval, which accounts for a significant amount of the shortened delivery time. So as each new vaccine gets approval, millions of doses will be available as soon as they can be transported to hospitals, pharmacies, and other injection sites. Latest projections are that anyone that wants a vaccination should be able to get one by summertime.

Your old table saw isn't a Delta, is it, Ted? They're classic and still very much in demand. Nice to hear you have room for it now in your shop, they do take up a lot of room.

I stacked three lengths of railroad track on my box blade, Bill. It could still use more weight. Thanks for the tip on the Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax. I usually use Dupont Swirl Mark Remover on a foam pad on the buffer for that, but the Speed Wax sounds a lot easier. The old Kubota's paint needs all the help it can get.

I forgot to mention it, but the other night there was a giant halo around that half moon. Far more spectacular than the conjunction, at least in my opinion. Of course, cell phone pic just showed a white blob of moon, and no halo at all.

The battery in my old SE has already been replaced once, and it won't last even a day without a recharge at this point. So I either have to get the battery replaced, or find a new phone.

Two more packages arrived here yesterday, Mike, but no balancing was observed. One was delivered by USPS, by the mailman that said he knows how the lock on the drop box works, but again demonstrated he refuses to use it.:irked:

Managed to move almost all the stuff out of the container and find spots either in the garage or pump house for it. There was a ton of old molding and base board in there, and I put most of it through the chop saw and ended up with a huge pile of kindling. There were also four pieces of cedar T&G paneling that got cut to 6" lengths then split with the Kindling Kracker, which was a fun sit down job. Sure a lot easier than splitting oak, and now there's enough kindling to get me through the rest of the heating season. The base board and some other particle board stuff got fed to the camp fire last night. Along with some short sections of PVC conduit; man that stuff stinks when it burns.:laughing:

But that's all I got done, so yesterday's welding job is on for today, as well as digging out the splitter. Hopefully get a chance to fire it up; it hasn't run since '14, but it doesn't have a battery and it was run dry before I put it away. Once it's warm, I'll treat it to an oil change and see about cleaning the air filter. Then see if I remember how to split wood.:laughing:

Good morning. It's 43° here and socked in with fog. The forecast is for 73° this afternoon.

The Kubota ZT checked out fine yesterday, at the dealer, so kept on moving. I got my gas cans filled, picked up some hardware items for a project, and stopped at H‑E‑B for a few items and returned to a very nicely cleaned house.

When the fog clears .. I'm heading to Columbus for a much needed haircut .. then to Weimar for feed.

Still have a few gifts to wrap this afternoon and pies to bake tomorrow .. after the "Great Turkey Fry".

33°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 54° today. We briefly hit 60° yesterday. Another day in the upper 50s tomorrow, with rain moving in in the afternoon and temps plummeting into the 20s. High Thursday will be 27°. Then, back to the 50s for the weekend. Weeee!!!

Wife had me stop at a grocery store on the way home from work yesterday. Oh, my ... that was "fun." Always nice too see people being so rude and inconsiderate during the holiday season. Helps get me in the mood.

Mostly_, I have a bunch of stuff "finished." There are two songs I finished mixing and mastering over the weekend, and shot video for one Sunday evening. Got that transferred off the GoPro last night, and will try to get it assembled and edited sometime this week. Maybe shoot video for the other song this weekend. Tough time to get much done right now.

Drew, "the only person responsible for my happiness is me" sounds very Buddhist, who believe you'll never find what you seek by looking out, when everything is already within.

The neighbor lady next door had a big can of crooked nails and the neighborhood kids all had hammers and we sat on the cement driveway and pounded the nails straight. I could not do it - just could not get my two year old hands and eyes coordinated.

Like Bird we have frost in the mornings and 70s in the afternoon. Mostly sunny skies with a few high clouds. Sour dough starter is warming and bubbling and expanding so I'll make bread today, the apple date nut and pumpkin bread that Popgadget's wife made sounds pretty good. Hope the store is not crowded today.

I have 4 broccoli heads forming they will be ready to pick in a few weeks and the garden Kale needs thinning again. I checked the garden tractor, 6 more tractor hours then it fluid change time on a warm day.

David - heard about volcano, knew not close to you but still glad no effect in your area, sounds like all ok near volcano too, no loss of buildings.

Our neighbor up the road stopped by, seems Fedex left a package for us by their mailbox, in the snow. Wet and soggy mess and wrong house.

Bird - did you check your filter in the washer? ours had a washable mask in it, made a small mess and would not let tub drain. Easy but wet removal.

L4N - hope your knee feels better-keep it warm, might help

PopG - was really into speakers and such when younger - had ElectroVoice when they were privately owned and used to go to some high end audio shows in NYC. Did my own filters and stereo installs on cars for a while. Looking for better sound, but cars are so limited for acoustics. Can't wait to see those cabinets when done.

I never went to school in Weimar even though my Dad was a Math teacher at the high school. He decided to change occupations and we moved when I was 3.
