Good morning, Kenmbz no sun here only the liquid variety. What was 4 feet on the ground last Friday turned into 2 feet of packed snow yesterday and I had the 1/2 mile of my road plowed to the pavement. Started to snow again this morning with more on the way. Is there such a thing as too much seat time?View attachment 685284
Sodamo, thanks for the postcard comment but I think you have an incredible place after looking at the link. I have never been to HI. and it is on the bucketlist before I ....well you know! The photo is my guest house I built in 1978 and only have friends and family there and never to be rented.
Mostly-gas, Thanks for the welcome. This forum is welcoming compared to the "green one" with it's less than amiable persona, enough said! I plan to stick around and take part and enjoy the camaraderie I have seen here.

Welcome Viking. This is a good place to hang out.

Buppies, guess empty tank is better than broken furnace. But still.

I tried to light mother in laws gas fireplace last time we were there, with no luck. It would light, but barely burn and then go out. Her tank wasn’t empty.
Worked till 7 tonight, home after 8. Late supper.
Got a contractor doing some work for us, I’m getting pretty frustrated with their excuses on why they are behind schedule. Course they don’t think the fact they deleted the directory with all the test scripts had anything to do with it. But they are quick to blame us because of a typo. They forget they are working for us. Today more complaining a script won’t run, but I ran the exact same script with no problem. Humm.

My pellet stove needs cleaned out real soon, but not tonight.
Wunderground is not showing below 20° for next week in my area. Accuweather shows lows in teens next week, nothing lower than what we’ve already seen this winter.
They also removed the snow forecast for this weekend.

Well, the last of pre-op appointments DONE! Had the surgeon's appointment on Monday, all is a go with them....

Cardiologist appt today, BP much higher than usual, he changed meds for that. ECG and bloodwork looks good.

Only conflict is the daily aspirin regimen.... surgeon wants me to stop taking 5 days prior, cardiologist wants me to continue until evening before.... mmmm.... I think I will follow cardiologist advice. He also wants aspirin to begin again the day after surgery.

Some of you guys got hammered with snow, some not so much.... all within a narrow swath, strange storm. We were most fortunate the last couple of days.... spring like weather! We hit 58 degrees yesterday and today.... all the snow is now gone. Now the wind started tonight and will be beating us up for the next 2 days, 35-50 mph and cooler temps back in the low 40's.

Took yesterday's beautiful day to work out in the shop, got all the pieces for the blanket chest done, ready to be assembled/finished. Hopefully tomorrow.

Welcome viking. Beautiful pics. I don't recommend kicking your sheriff. LOL.

Work has been busy. I have an old Bridgeport 2216 vertical CNC mill at work that's giving me trouble. I was running it the other day, and the Z axis locked up and gave a servo alarm. It might have been an oiling problem. I believe I have the oiling problem fixed, but there may be damage to the ballscrew or the linear guides. It's always something. Wasted about 8 hours on it so far. It's really not worth sinking much $$$ into, IMO.

Hope to get son's minibike working this weekend, but might have to buy a new petcock for the gas tank.

RNG, tree price might get real interesting. Being that they're Kalifornia trees. Are they giving out seedlings to plant? You know the old saying, Money don't grow on trees....but it grows on bushes if it's legal to grow it where you are.

You guys are nice to clear off your neighbors' snow.

Prayers for our team, Buppies, BEF, Randy, Ron and son, Rip, Drew, Mostly, and all who are silent in need....and for our country.

Just 20 minutes away, place I was Saturday, got over 2 ft of snow, we got 6-7”.

After getting home from the Dr's today, I took advantage of the nice temps to change the oil on the tractor.

Then, as tracking showed, FedEx showed up with a gas valve for our range. It was 14 months old, 2 months out of warranty. Strange that one of the burner valves broke, allowing it to just turn 360° vs. stopping at 'off'. I almost fell off my chair when I saw the price at the first supplier I checked.... $110!
After checking others, I found a supplier in Utah selling the same part # for $22.95 ! I ordered it Sunday night, had it today.... wow!

It took longer to take the top off the range than it took to change out the valve. Wife is happy, I am happy..... we were both nervous about the valve not being turned off properly  hopefully this is the only problem we have with this range/oven.... it is a fairly pricey LG brand.

Oh, and on the sale / closing of the house..... still didn't happen! Supposedly the title company dragging their feet.... "due to being short staffed due to Covid"..... I am so tired of hearing that excuse! Hopefully now will happen in the next few days.....

Bad news on the septic inspection.... the tank is shot. Well, just half of it.... doesn't matter, have to replace it. Apparently having a water softener created an imbalance of PH .... neutral or slightly acidic water on the inside, alkaline soil on the outside.... took 26 years, but it messed up the concrete bond. The leach field is fine...Whew! Still going to cost $3 grand. I /we were going to attempt to do it ourselves, but materials /permit would cost $2500 for us.... definitely not worth the hassle! That should happen next week, depending on when the permit comes through.

Hope everyone has a good evening/night.... especially Buppies... hope it has warmed up for you today!

Another warm one today. No rain like they promised. 91 deg. F (2.00 pm) Not doing anything today. Took the tractor for a drive around my bush tracks and pushed some fallen trees that had blocked the tracks. Now lounging in front of the air-con staying cool and day dreaming...
Wearing nothing but shorts and thinking, how can it be cold where you guys are?
Like walking into an oven when I go outside...

Buppies, that really sux re propane company.

Glad you’re on schedule, Drew.

Ted, bet you’re getting exciting about surgery - finally.

Guess would have to rate Dr visit as positive.
He took another laser shot at right eye gloucoma and declared success. He do left eye next month and likely determine her cataract surgery has healed as much as it’s going to. Will start considering cataract surgery on the other eye.

26 right now...high in the low 30's...

Got the neighbor lady's roof, porch and walks cleared....pretty heavy snow and a lot of it on the roof. As I'd written, I wasn't on the roof (none of that for me with a gimpy leg!). About 2 hours or work...but no tractor time. I did get that shear bolt replaced and went over the driveway again. Got quite a bit down to bare asphalt.
A bit achy this morning since I don't do that much physical labor normally.
Back to work today!!

Good morning, dry, sunny and well above freezing, other than a bit of a breeze this is as good as it gets for February. Ideal weather as sheep are due a second vaccination shot, this one for clostridial diseases and pasteurellosis.

RNG, at least your curiosity has been satisfied with trying those heavy cartridges. Has your shoulder turned blue ? Hope you get the gun fit sorted before your teeth come loose, now is not the best of times to see a dentist :D

Not a good attitude from a contractor. Did you say before you were coding test scripts with python ? If you are not running in a virtual enviroment, I know what fun it can be getting scripts going on different machines with missing packages/modules/paths to interpreter etc. Best of luck, after seeing a few screen shots I am sure you will soon sort them out.

Good morning, the temperature is 9°F and going to a high of 27. Wind calm. Sunny.

A dump run and town is in the cards for today.

The cops up here are not enforcing the stay at home rule. They figure that we are all adults and can make our own decisions whether to stay at home or not. I imagine they are looking for large gatherings, which I will never be a part of (I avoid crowds like the plague).

Stay safe all

Drive carefully Roy and others due to black ice this morning.

And good morning all. A warmer 30 going up to 41 today in sunshine, should be a nice day.

Ted, your woodworking is really nice. Too bad we can't fix our bad knees and backs with a little Titebond III and clamps...

Popgadget, as beautifully clean as your driveway is/was, and how well plowed the parking lot was, plenty of room to K turn there, makes no sense
that guy dumped your boxes in the snow bank. There are a lot of folks making deliveries and some of the newbies are pretty bad. I just love it when you hear them
inside their trucks chucking boxes around with a bang and a thump.

Sometimes I get as many as three emails telling me my package is on its way and do I want to track it locally. No...
Waste of email space. delete delete delete
and then that it was delivered, sometime with a pic attached of my front door. That's useful.
And then was the delivery satisfactory?
I hope Paul gets a questionnaire on that delivery...

Thursday Feb 4th. Time flies...let's make the most of it.

Poured first cup of coffee. 16° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 35° with snow in late pm. Got my shopping done until next week. Got a new desktop PC yesterday. Will be working to get everything working the way I want it. No other plans.

Mostly, I think my snow day is going to be tomorrow. Forecast has moved snow event out until maybe 5pm. 4" should give me some seat time.

LS, good all test are coming out in your favor. Been a long wait. Wood looks good.

Viking, :welcome: to the Good morning!!!! Crew. Nice picture.

Don, trials look good. Look a lot like your old place.

Drew, I use text messaging for shipping info. Works much better than Email. Puts all messages in one folder. and only shows most current ones. I only give bad delivery reviews. The rest are just doing their job as it should be done.

David, glad Dr visit went well for Sophie.

Buppies, glad you got heat.

Kyle. good your son is OK. Hope repairs go good to bike.

Buckeye, I remember some of those contractor events. Not having to deal with them anymore after retirement. :cool2:

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

28 outside this AM. Heading to lower 50's. Will let wood stove burn itself out and clean it out later.

Nothing else planned. Need to check up with DMV on truck registration. Looks to be MIA.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe and stay healthy my friends. There looked to be good news on the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday about slowing transmissions. Everything helps.
