Ted, each bedroom in this house has a full bath, roll in shower. The common bathroom has a tub/shower, basically because if Sophie’s Mom visited, she liked a tub. In the master bath we also have a jetted tub. In 13 yearswe’ve been inthe house I doubt it has been used half dozen times . Periodically, I will look at it and mentally juggle how I can tear it out and expand the shower. Maybe someday I will hit on the solution.

Made potato soup yesterday. Got positive reviews from the better half last night. She has taken a liking to my cooking.

National Muffin Day is properly represented in little New Hope PA...
Apples were Evercrisp from local orchard, the bouquet of the apple comes out in the muffin.

Weird weather indeed this year. I don't even remember when the freeze first hit, and the snow that actually stayed around for days. BUT . . this morning's temperature was 24 degrees and the ice was still frozen on my driveway. No sun hits my driveway; blocked by a big tree. But I was able to back the car out and go to the nearest Walmart around 9 a.m. and the temperature was up to 36. They didn't have any milk or bottled water, but otherwise not out of as much as I expected. So I spent $116, brought that home and went to another Walmart. The northern Denton Walmart had cases of bottled water stacked everywhere; no limits, plenty of milk. So another $26. Then I went next door to Sam's Club for bacon, sausage patties, ground beef, BBQ ribs, and a big jar of cashew.:laughing: And the first thing you know . . . our temperature is 56 degrees.

25F snow fakes dancing in the air most of the afternoon.
Been good putter day.

Mrs. been hinting for woodstove to cook bake with :confused2: it's do able but lot of work,so I mention I'll do the work but I want my allowance increase...should interesting.

No plans for the evening just feet up after dinner.

Probably, but that’s not the issue. Just have to have a forestry plan. Apparently you can’t do anything yourself anymore, you got to pay an “expert” for it to be accepted. His cows kept him in agriculture before, now that he sold the cows, he either has to sell hay, lease the land or manage and sell timber with a plan by a forester. He doesn’t have to be a registered tree farm.

It’s 26° and wicked wind chill.

Today is National cherry pie day and I didn’t make it to orchard to buy one. Will stop tomorrow after worship.
Got a letter from power company that my online payment didn’t go thru. I made online payment cause I never got the bill. Their system is pretty antiquated. I entered everything they needed, account and routing number. I expect they will cut my power next. . Got the next bill so mailed a big check. Hope they get it, or I might have to go off grid.

Good suggestion when you can change the bottles yourself.
She is paranoid of running out and during the winter calls for a fill-up every three weeks (about $150 to $200) when it gets close to 60%. The propane co. had a long line of people filling their 5 gallon tanks before they ran out. The county's tractors supply and Walmart must have sold out.

I wasn't running the furnace when I had the picnic bottle hooked up, but it was supplying the water heater and range. FWIW, I went through two bottles in about 6 weeks time. It would probably go a lot faster than that running a whole house gas furnace, but as you point out, you can just keep changing bottles. That only lasts until you run out of bottles and there's no gas to refill them, though.

We got to 62° today and we should see 72° tomorrow. It may not even get down into the 40's tonight.

We still have a bit of now / ice on north side of the house and our buildings.

I'm hoping for a calm morning tomorrow or Monday so I can go light / monitor .. my neighbor's brush pile. She lost her husband of 56 years, about 2 years ago. She's still staying with her daughter in Houston so I can get this done w/o supervision.

The ground is wet enough that I probably won't bother with getting our VFD Brush Fire Truck. I mowed a 30' strip around it right before our storms so .. should be safe.

Not sure mine would offer the same compliment but I highly suspect she prefers I do the cooking most of the time. Fine with me, much rather cook than do the dishes.
